### 3/5 — `i will put in a star or 5 later

*2023-05-20, version 3.3*

The app is not working after spending over $100 for in app purchases It better get back up soon. I do hope that you are not trying to manipulate me(us) into getting your new app(AuV3 dont matter to me) and I am not paying another 59.99 because I already paid a lot more.

### 3/5 — Pops

*2021-05-29*

Sounds great. My issue is after playing for a few minutes it makes a popping sound through my amp. I close the app and open it back up and it’s fine. I play for a few minutes and it begins popping again.

### 2/5 — Vous achetez mais il faut plus

*2021-05-09*

Vous achetez l’application, mais ensuite pour debloquer les effets, etc.. il faut encore payer une fois dans l’application.
Aussi pas en hd et pas de mise a jour depuis plus de 2 ans

### 2/5 — Needs update

*2021-03-13*

This was my go-to app for solo practicing, but it hasn’t been updated in over three years. Now I can no longer import backing tracks from my music library, which was the main thing I used it for. And no reply from support. Seems like the developers retired and are just milking it.

It still sounds ok and doesn’t spam you with ads like IK’s apps, but at least they keep up with new iOS versions.

**Developer response:** Sorry we missed your support email. You can still import music from your music library, but it has to be music downloaded on your phone, not in the cloud. If you're still having issues, please contact us via our support page, http://yonac.com/support/

### 2/5 — Sorry, not liking it

*2020-02-26, version 3.3*

Too many effects disabled. Not intuitive to use. Sounds ok, but not that great. Over-hyped, in my opinion.

### 3/5 — Good in its day but neglected since 2017

*2020-02-23*

Really good sounding app back in the day but unfortunately has not had any update since 2017. Alas problems such as IAA zombie bug have never been fixed. We now also have AUv3 amp+FX sim options such as Klevgrand’s Stark and Nembrini’s Crunck - for me and many others AUv3 is a must nowadays. Would love to see the developer give ToneStack some long overdue love and bring it up to date.

### 5/5 — Incredible

*2019-09-05*

As a long-standing tube-amp & analog effect purist type I was sceptical that a £10 app could sound decent but boy was I surprised.
Superb alternative to micing up an amp and pedalboard when recording into Cubasis 2. Only hope it doesn’t get neglected when IAA is eventually lost on iOS.

### 5/5 — On a very short top list

*2019-09-03*

These guys only make great apps. Yonac is a member of my club of developers whose stuff I purchase without knowing what they do because I know they only put out great apps. The latest motherload is the way to go to get it all at a great price and not have regrets. Nothing worse than regrets. Have fun!

### 5/5 — Truly spectacular and glorious

*2019-05-28*

As a garageband owner I have enjoyed their guitar amps, but I had no idea tonestack would be the end all and be all. This is, no doubt, the greatest app I have ever owned. I can just plug in and play these astounding amps and effects for hours. As an electric guitar player I would normally quibble, BUT I’M NOT EVEN GOING TO QUIBBLE. Hats off to Yonac.

### 5/5 — Awesome! Very universal!

*2019-03-21*

What I love about this is its intuitive well-thought-out structure and universality. I use it with a good Mic and a Zoom U-22 and get a studio grade dry sound with just eq, expander and compression. In combination with Audiobus and Loopy you get unheard-of real-time music creation powers. Unfortunately with Ableton-Link enabled most of the delays (except for the standard one and Taproom) don’t catch Loopys tempo. I would also love an autopan effect and rhythmic patterns for the tremolo/stutter effect, but this is already awesome and revolutionary.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not the Pro app

*2025-05-23*

This app crashes a LOT and doesn’t work with IAA. The Tonestack Pro app that I found after getting frustrated with this is great. This was a waste of 10 dollars and really shouldn’t be on App Store any longer.

### 1/5 — Avoid Yonac

*2025-02-08*

Yonac abandons apps after a short period. ToneStack and Magellan Jr are gone. All the money I spent on the apps and in app purchases? Gone.

The new ToneStack appears to be abandoned as of a few months ago.

Unless you want to treat them like a charity for which you don't get an itemized deduction, avoid them.

### 1/5 — A REFUND IS IN ORDER

*2023-01-28, version 3.3*

App works fine by itself, however it DOES NOT WORK in my DAW as advertised, I would like my $9.99 back.

### 1/5 — New App no notice

*2021-05-07*

Just great when you barely had ToneStack for a few weeks and purchase unlocks and Developer releases new Pro model.. great way to sneak a few dollars… could of allowed upgrade price for recent purchases…

### 1/5 — Tone Stack Pro released, no upgrade for 3 users

*2021-05-03*

This really disappointed me. I have to now she’ll out the same amount I paid for 3 but really all I want out of it is auv3 support. Why not offer us #3 users a complete upgrade for like $10. For the entire upgrade. All amps, fx, etc. I own all your gear. Very sad that you just want me to purchase it all over again.

### 1/5 — 3 years since an update???

*2020-07-03*

I bought all of the in app purchases and am now feeling like a big fat plucked chicken. How many OS upgrades since then? Let alone two new iPad models. Not cool, Yonac.

### 1/5 — Very Dissapointed

*2020-02-24*

The basic version deos not even come with a useable Delay! Only a Echoplex immitation that sounds like crap. The 2.0 and 3.0 presets are unuseable in the basic package because they require in app purchases. For the amount of money they want for the extras, I could buy a Real Pedalboard. Ten dollars for one effect??? Don't waste your time or money on this unless all you need are a few so so sounding rigs!

### 1/5 — fx

*2019-12-22*

What is it With you. you have the same fx in Every app but you have to pay for them every single time you buy an app what a joke.I've had to pay basically three or four times for the same fx

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love it! The Whammy pedal is perfect!

*2025-12-16*

Tones are great. That said, not all the tones are great, but most are very useable. I never use presets anyway. Create your own patches, and the sky is the limit. Have bought some of the amps and pedals, they do not disappoint...it’s a smorgasbord of sounds for not a lot of dough. I’m a seasoned musician ang studio guy,and I’m having a blast with this! Get it! PS. Recording is a breeze, and the studio is very straightforward, good for noobs ..

### 5/5 — It’s the best amp sim on any platform

*2022-11-26*

So many tones; it’s so worth it.

### 5/5 — Equalizer on the master bus

*2022-06-22*

Make an equalizer on the master bus! It is very lacking at concerts, when you need to urgently adjust the sound on all presets. Because of this, I had to go to another program. I hope you fix it!

### 5/5 — Totally amazing - @Yonac, please give an update on the further app updates

*2021-01-04*

Clean tones!!, use it with an Irig hd2 and a babyface Pro. 64 samples is not an issue with both interfaces on my iPad Pro 10,5", awesome app!!!

### 5/5 — Great app, some suggestions

*2020-12-29*

Tonestack is a fantastic app, and the amps and effects sound great. A small but very useful feature is the detune mode on the tuner, so if you are playing along to a song that is tuned half a step down you can easily play in tune. Could a future update please include an ability to do this for each string individually, so you could play in drop D or even in open tunings without actually needing to retune your guitar? That would be awesome. Also, maybe throwing in more presets with future updates would be cool as they are good starting points and helpful to see how some of the more unusual pedals could be used in a musical way. Anyway great app and thoroughly recommended!

### 5/5 — I’m blown away. Great sounding App!

*2020-12-02*

I have been waiting for the sale on the mother load and bundles and got them and they are amazing!!! I’m a producer/keyboard player who plays guitar for “fun” but don’t consider myself a pro by any mean but I do have heard and played with MANY amp sims going back to the original line6 POD years ago and I really think the amp and
Stomp sims are outstanding in tonestack. I haven’t played a lot since earlier this year and took it out and hooked up to tonestack and played for like 3 hours till my fingers were sore ! So much fun trying different Amps and stomps! I then ran my montage clavinet wound through the wah and cranked a Marshall with delay wow what a sound. Can’t wait to incorporate tonestack into my live rig and start playing again! Thanks YONAC!

### 5/5 — Please AUv3 this.

*2020-01-30, version 3.3*

Please.

AUv3 🙂🙂🙂

### 5/5 — The best

*2019-12-09*

The best guitar package on AppStore.

### 5/5 — Great guitar app

*2019-10-17*

Better than Bias and AmpliTube but seems to exist rather in their shadow. Check it out, get beyond the rather lacklustre presets and you’ll find a powerful amp sim with excellent fx.
