That’s misleading. If the app requires payment to function properly, it should be upfront about that or just be a paid app from the start. I’d much rather pay once for a fully usable app than download something that’s essentially unusable without a subscription. This kind of model just wastes people’s time and creates frustration. ### 1/5 — Difficult to navigate and get started *2026-03-23, version 1.0.2* Not user friendly. Tiny text so I couldn't see what I'm clicking. Managed to do a audio test record and couldn't work out how to do anything with it. Subscription offer popped up every time I clicked on something. Shame because I liked the older version. ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-03-14* This app isn’t the same as the desktop free audio software. It doesn’t let you use the app unless you subscribe, but Audacity is free. WRONG when you click the ex it shows the last thing of what is does and then when you click continue it STILL shoes you to subscribe to make it work. So if you want to waste your money, go right ahead but just know other than that option, you can't use it! ### 1/5 — Slow down Audio only at increments of 25% *2026-02-18* No free trial of this app to see how it works, so I paid three dollars for absolutely nothing because I cannot slow my audio down only 5%. No thanks. ### 1/5 — Scam App *2026-04-16* This is an app pretending to be audacity. If you go to the audacity website they are web-based only. I wish I had known this before paying a subscription. It is pretty basic in functionality, and not compatible with the real audacity to work with the cloud or anything like that. This should probably be taken down because they are using audacity branding which is free and open source to get money for a very basic recording app that is not even as good as the desktop open source version of audacity.
