### 4/5 — Next Gen Version?

*2023-10-03*

I’ve been using Toodledo for more than 10 years. I use it to keep lists of things-to-do (personal and work lists). I use the task title as the name of the list, and I use the Notes section to list all the things to do. So, I don’t use any major features — I just keep simple text lists. It works great for me because it syncs immediately and I can access from my computer as well as my iPhone.

I received an email today urging me to upgrade to the “Next Gen” version, but it is not in the App store. I don’t feel comfortable downloading an app from anywhere else, and I don’t understand why the new version is not here if it’s ready for full use. Will it ever be put in the app store? Why didn’t you just make it an automatic upgrade — or a separate new app that paid users could download?

I do notice that with iOS 17 there are glitches in Toodledo now — it crashes all the time.

Can you just let us upgrade to the new version (“Next Gen”) here in the app store, or release the Next Gen as a separate app here in the app store? Other vendors do it all the time. That would be most helpful.

### 3/5 — Downgrading my rating

*2023-01-27, version 3.4.1*

I’ve been a paid subscriber for over 10 years, and generally it has worked well and been reliable. Recently, syncing of sub tasks isn’t working. I don’t expect perfection, but when I don’t get a response to a polite request for tech support it is very irritating. I’ve asked for tech support twice over the years and never gotten a reply. I’m now looking for an alternative app.

### 4/5 — Reminder App

*2022-04-21, version 3.4.1*

I really love it when it was free and now that it costs it doesn’t seem to have the same functionality as before and not sure why! This was an app that I relied on for my sales job and it was sync to Outlook and worked perfectly. Now my reminder badges don’t show up and do after I enter the app. All my notifications are set up for reminder badges everywhere but don’t show up at all. Sorry for the bad review, these bugs need to be fixed now! Thanks 🙏

### 4/5 — Happily used for years. Don’t know how I’d do without it!

*2022-01-31, version 3.4.1*

I’ve always depended on this program as it was one of the first I purchased. It keeps me on top of all of the things I have to do. I would only change one thing: after typing the task in, I have two choices - Add to Edit. If I select Add, then it adds the typed in task to my list. If I select Edit (which, unfortunately I accidentally do much too often), it adds the word “untitled” to my list. I then have to delete the word “untitled” and retype my task. It would be better if either Edit was unavailable or if it would return to the cursor my typing so that I could actually make an edit. This is the only reason I didn’t give a five star rating.

### 4/5 — Loads of features, but hard for users to understand

*2021-10-03, version 3.4.1*

Toodledo is chocked full with many helpful features for scheduling. Unfortunately, it’s hard for new users and those with little experience in time management to navigate the app.
To any user that’s struggling with understanding the app: Go to “settings”➡️”navigation/help”➡️”tutorial video”

The developers should include a tutorial that explains in-app features the first time the user opens it. Alternatively, make the tutorial video easier to find. The user interface is also looks dated.

**Developer response:** Auni,

Thanks a lot for your constructive feedback. We will definitely ensure to make the tutorial videos more accessible.
Since we are developing completely new mobile apps, the second point on our roadmap is to also update the UX/UI to a more up-to-date standard.
Exciting things coming up with Toodledo ;-)

### 4/5 — Love ToodleDo

*2021-06-17, version 3.4.1*

I’ve used Toodledo for ten years or more. It worked well before and it works well for me now. I hope it survives and continues. My needs for managing tasks and calendars are the same as they were a decade ago, and I’m happy with the iOS app and also the desktop / web version. Many users want fancy new features that I don’t need, but that’s the way software goes. I’m fine with his app the way is (June 2021). I hope it stays around awhile.

### 2/5 — No longer works on iPad!

*2021-06-07, version 3.4.1*

I have been a devoted user / subscriber of Toodledo for many years. Toodledo was definitely The best To Do application I’d ever found, and effective for a very busy work environment.
However, about 7 months ago, the App started crashing on my iPad. (A new iPad Air). I was in touch with the developers and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. And they have stopped trying to solve my problem. The app works great on my PC and on my iPhone. But will not work on my iPad. I find this a significant inconvenience. So, even though this is a great tool, I can no longer rate it highly. Perhaps the developer /or new owner would like to resolve the development issues on this one to restore this App to my previous 5* rating? Nancy M.

### 2/5 — Past Due Tasks Can’t Be Edited on IPhone App

*2021-04-18, version 3.4.1*

I love this app and I’ve used it for years but in the last several months I’m finding that past due tasks on my phone cannot be edited. I’ve tried to change the dates or delete them and they keep showing up on my phone as past due tasks which makes it really hard to see my current due tasks. I’ve had to copy them over into a brand new record and then try to delete them but they still don’t go away. Have you heard of this problem it is anything being done to try to fix it? It’s starting to make the iPhone app, which is my primary access, unusable.

### 4/5 — What happened?

*2021-02-10, version 3.4.1*

I have been a dedicated user for the past several years, but I just noticed that some features disappeared. Why do I not see the priority color triangles in the main task list? The triangle only shows up when I click on the individual tasks. I tried reinstalling it, but it didn’t help. Please advise. Thank you.

### 2/5 — 11-year user, GONE!! Subscription $$$ tripled, App stagnated.

*2020-12-16, version 3.4.1*

Well, it’s sad 😭. After 11 years I’m afraid the time has come to part ways with Toodledo. It wasn’t easy as Toodledo has been my nerve center.
But I’ve now transferred my entire “brain”, a.k.a. my GTD system, into Things 3. Ironically, Things doesn’t have as many features but it has the right features, smoothly implemented.
Two years ago, Toodledo’s subscription price tripled and the app all but stagnated in that time. Zero noteworthy improvements and a couple of service glitches that gave me the jitters.
I have used Toodledo 11 years and it was once by far the best value out there. It’s still a decent GTD platform but the ZIP is gone, the UI is horribly out of date, and the subscription is just no longer worth the price.
So, regrettably, I was compelled to evaluate other products and jumped ship when my subscription expired. 😢
Thanks for the memories, Toodledo, it’s been a good ride!

### 5/5 — Another long term user

*2020-08-25, version 3.4.1*

I've been using this app for around 10 years. I've tried others but this is still the best for me. It looks like the recent glitches have been cleared up.

Prior users DO have to FORCE an update FROM the web version TO your device once. After that, it appears to work well.

New owner, new development team? Yeah, looks like there were some stumbles. But don't punish them and yourself by missing out on the best Task/Note/List manager available. Toodledo has always hit the sweet spot between simplicity of usability and enough complexity to get the job done for me. No other app does as well.

### 5/5 — Excellent since 2009

*2020-08-04, version 3.4.1*

I’ve been using this app, syncing with Outlook and iOS devices since 2009. I’ve used other task programs but this one beats all. Imagine my surprise today when I looked at one of my devices and only had two tasks. Not good. That could go really bad with syncing turned on. I went through the simple help section which told me to force the sync in the direction from the Toodledo website to the device and boom, all my tasks were back. I think that’s the only problem I’ve had in over a decade with Toodledo.

### 5/5 — Toodledo Is Back

*2020-08-03, version 3.4.1*

I’ve been a paid subscriber for over ten years. During this time I have also been a Toodledo evangelist, telling everyone I could about it. I absolutely love the app and use it daily on my iPhone and use the web app as well. I was able to customize it to use the GTD categories so it’s essentially now ingrained in my life and work.

Recently, there was a significant bug with the previous update. I wrote the dev and received response that day. True to his word, the update dropped within a week.

I read in the comments that there might be an issue with the update causing a loss of info. My solution was to simply delete the old app and download the new version. Once downloaded then logging on caused the app to synchronize properly without the loss of any data. As a backup, tho, I also viewed all tasks on the website and printed that view essentially as a report.

This current update is great and has the added benefit of instant synchronization on opening of the app. While previously we had to manually synch, now it’s automatic.

Again, I’ve been a long-term paid user and am reviewing this app now because I think that it’s a great app that suffered from one bad iteration. That’s been fixed. It’s great and I love it.

### 2/5 — Getting there

*2020-07-26, version 3.4.1*

The newest release is getting closer, but still taking some steps backwards. One major issue remains for me: I was heavily dependent on sorting my tasks first by starred or not starred. This is fine. Then within the starred list I would sort by priority. This is still possible, but the mobile app no longer displays the priority visibly with the little colored triangles in the corner. It just sorts them and leaves you to wonder later what priority you assigned. You have to click on each task to actually see, which defeats the purpose of being able to visually see how you have sorted the list. Please bring this back for 5 stars! It must be easy!

### 1/5 — What’s happening with my app?

*2021-06-11, version 3.4.1*

I have used this app for 20+ years. And I loved it. It has made my life so much easier. And they were always top of my favorite apps. My friends and clients would laugh at my use of toodledo as a verb, as in, I’m going to toodledo that so I don’t forget!

But in the last few weeks, the repeat function does not work . Once I mark my task off, it’s gone forever. Now in the old days, I would contact the app and try to figure out what is happening and how to fix it, but I know from experience that it will take days or weeks to hear back from the developer. I find myself looking for a new task app. Again, I have been a huge fan until recently. The knowledge that this app may be gone forever is bittersweet.

**Developer response:** Holly Gunn,
We are sorry to hear about your experience.
Toodledo has a new ownership team since July 2021!
Please do give us another try and don't feel shy to file a support ticket. All tickets receive a custom response within 24h.

### 1/5 — Abysmal update

*2021-04-18, version 3.4.1*

I needed to update my iPhone’s iOS version for some reason. This made my old version of Toodledo unable to open. After updating it, having issues, backing up my data from desktop website, deleting iOS app, and resyncing, the app performs so sluggishly it is almost totally unusable. Toodledo: Please improve the quality if you want me to keep paying for the premium version of this app. I’ve given Toodledo a lot of money over the years for a checklist app. My life requires high intensity productivity and organization. I need a task list that works properly.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your time

*2020-12-10, version 3.4.1*

Have used it for several years (8+) and was always happy with the basic functionality. New developer took over and they have made very few upgrades and issues continue to pop up without resolution. No leveraging of new technology (Face ID) and user interface is suffering from a lack of any attention. Look at the history of updates and you’ll see that this once popular app has been ignored by the new developers. But they are happy to still charge users an annual subscription. I have already begun looking for my next task app.

Toodledo has become Toodledon’t.

### 1/5 — Non-existent support

*2020-10-08, version 3.4.1*

I have been a Toodledo user for over a decade, but they have recently declined significantly in quality. Syncing between the web interface and phone app are no longer reliable, features that made it easier to read task priority were eliminated in the last update and not restored, and support is non-existent. I have emailed support three times in the last three months, and I got one response indicating that my problem would be addressed “in the next update,” which it seems may never materialize. Looks like it’s time for me to get a new task app.

### 1/5 — Used for 10 years but new updates not working

*2020-08-08, version 3.4.1*

I’ve used Toodledo for over 10 years, I’m a premium subscriber to their service and Always found it to be the best task management system out there until they got bought out and now more and more things keep getting broken or not working correctly. Definitely not the same level of dedication the founders put into maintaining this. My phone app will no longer stay in sync with the desktop app and shows 0 tasks until I do a forced sync from the server to my phone then a few days later goes back to 0 tasks and I have to force sync it again

Major issues with this new version the app takes forever to show me my tasks each time I open it now and crashes constantly. Something as simple as checking off a repeating task now takes about 5 seconds to update and show the next task.

You guys did a terrible job on this update and if these issues are not resolved soon I will have no option but to find a new task management system. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — What have you done to this!?!

*2020-07-19, version 3.4.1*

I have been a devoted user since this product came out. I have my entire work and personal life in it. This new release flat out does not work. It loads the first time, then freezes up, then never loads again. I realize the company has had internal tumult in the last year or so, but how could you put an app out there that simple does not work? Also, your updated screen shots look like you simply don't care about it. The online version seems to work fine, as does my iPhone. However, the iPad version is DOA.

### 1/5 — App deleted my entire Life

*2020-07-15, version 3.4.1*

I’ve used this app for years and was very happy. Not anymore! Apparently the app’s recent update (automatic backup from apple) deleted ALL my information-every list, every task-EVERYTHING. NO WARNING. NO WAY TO UNDO THIS. Antiquated Sync system because this developer doesn’t want to play with the major players, obviously. I’ll survive and rebuild my lists, but I’ll do it without this sorry excuse for an organizational app. Now instead of recommending this to everyone (as I previously had) I will make sure everyone I know stays away from this one. Did you actually pay someone to develop that update??? I’m sure I’m not the only person angry about this today.

### 1/5 — Worthless, for me

*2018-03-16, version 3.3.10*

Maybe I just don’t understand how to use this properly, but this app is terrible and a useless waste of money for me. I come from Informant, where I synced google calendar and tasks from toodledo, but was unwilling to pay a subscription fee to continue using it. I have perhaps 10 tasks each day, one or two new ones, and a few longer term tasks/reminders that I complete as I’m able. At the end of each day I’d select the unfinished tasks and change their due date to tomorrow. In this toodledo app I can find no way to do this easily. I’d need to select each task, one by one, and pick it’s updated due date by hand, each task individually. If I switch to using stars for those tasks and filter my task to those with stars and those due today, I find there’s no option for “those due today”, you have to pick a particular date, so would need to change the filter daily. I just don’t see a way to make this work as a useful task list where a single glance can show you your to-do list.

### 1/5 — 0 out of 5 Worst App Ever!!!

*2018-01-24, version 3.3.10*

I had this app for a while and never really used it. I linked it up to my Google calendar and whenever I would put a new event into my calendar it would duplicate it 10 times at random different times. It continuously does this same thing for every event or reminder. I tried and tried to find a resolution to this. Nobody within the company would reply to me, so I finally decided to delete my account with them. After deleting my account I thought my problem would be fixed, but it did not stop. I still continuously get duplicated reminders and my Google calendar is now worthless bc of this piece of trash app!

### 2/5 — I have been using Toodledo for years. Now?

*2021-06-16, version 3.4.1*

This app has helped me for many years as I have been happy with my subscription . Now all of the sudden I cannot log into the web version. I have tried through all avenues both on the web and iPhone app to get support and have had no response. I hate to give a bad rating but without support when I am unable to log back in is not acceptable. I have had this issue for several weeks and need the web interface. This is like the equivalent of loosing a day planner.

### 5/5 — The Worlds Best Productivity Software!

*2024-08-09*

Toodledo is the worlds foremost task management software with a catchy name. I have used it for nearly 15 years nowThe priorities, contexts, tags, goals, and due dates allow me to focus on what’s most important. In turn, this allows me and our team to share a common focus. We get things done! Periodically, I look at competitive products. Nothing else comes close. The new leadership team has brought the software into the modern era and makes continuous improvements. The seek out input from the users and act on this input! They are partners in our success. You have come to the right place for a better future.

**Developer response:** Hi there Sophia,

Thanks so much for your amazing review. However, we believe you intended to give this review for our next generation mobile app that can be found here:

### 5/5 — Be productive Your to do’s everywhere

*2024-08-02*

This App really makes me more productive. I am forced to use a windows machine at work. It syncs with my MacBook, Ipad, Iphone and PC. I can update my list goals all on the web on a computer on my KVM. Then instantly it is on my phone when I leave my desk. If you forget this is the app for you. Projects take task completion to get done. I have showed and sold this app many times. It is my favorite app that has PC sync on the market. Plus note pad keeps all my notes the same. Keep making better and you will conquer task list software. Habits is great so you don’t have to have daily tasks. Subtask are the bomb.

**Developer response:** Hi there,
Thanks so much for your amazing review. However, we believe that you intended to review our next generation mobile app that can be found here:

### 5/5 — Productivity must have for personal or business

*2023-12-12*

Productivity is my tool of choice for success in personal and business life. Tools like this designed in a user-friendly and flexible design our key to that productivity. Toodledo has not only met my standard, but continued to evolve and adapt to improve when circumstances allowed. The conscientious and motivated team behind this app gives me confidence that it will maintain that viability well into the future. Where a modest handful of potential competitors seek two garnish attention with their nuance, Toodledo remains steadfastly efficient and productive for a variety of scenarios on a variety of size scales, Good work Toodledo team.

### 5/5 — The Designers are even better then the app!!!

*2023-11-11*

I’ve used this app for many years. I liked it because it works for me. I didn’t force me into doing too many things I didn’t care about so I used it in my construction business and I listed each job and things I had to remember then I listed my kids and things about them, and it became my way to remember everything. I ran through about of cancer, and it looks like I came through the other end I found out that they updated the program, and that my version was no longer able to sync and I had no way to get my information, the other program was different I called them up and they listen to me. They didn’t make any promise they just listened as I told them I had extraordinarily important things. That were no longer accessible. Several weeks maybe a couple of months went by when I found out that I could access it again and I have been able to use it and now I update.
I believe that they felt sympathy for my situation. Compassionate people in this world are like hens teeth, this is a wonderful app. Hopefully it works for you.
thank you to the developer and owner of Toodledo.

### 5/5 — Keep Coming Back

*2022-11-05, version 3.4.1*

I am using the beta version for the last few months and it is great. This company has had a few stumbles but the new owners are listening and delivering. I have tried a ton of others but this app is simple and provides my tasks and syncs with informant and others. I love it.

### 5/5 — Recently discovered this app

*2022-05-28, version 3.4.1*

Though I have been an iPad user since it came out, I have only recently discovered this app. I have tried a multitude of to-do apps. Some are great at one thing but not so good at another. I am pleased with the functionality of Toodledo. It has lists and Tasks and notes and even a habit tracker. I live it, and I hope the developers continue to update it so it keeps up with the iOS upgrades.

### 5/5 — It’s Back!

*2021-09-02, version 3.4.1*

I used Toodledo for years until it crashed and burned under the old ownership. I switched to a competitor, which I liked but didn’t love. I missed the compact view, the flexibility, the tags, the seamless syncs, the Notes. Now, there’s new ownership and the app is back. I couldn’t be happier. As John Greene would say in The Anthropocene Review: 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Most useful app I have

*2020-10-05, version 3.4.1*

I have been using Toodledo for years and loosely use David Allen’s Getting Things Done approach of using Contexts and workflow to stay organized. It may have some minor warts, like it’s lame use of markup text in the detailed notes, but IMO 5 stars means outstanding, not perfect. I tried OneNote, Evernote and others and Toodledo is the best. You can keep it simple or be obsessive and it still excels.

### 5/5 — PLEASE ADD A DARK MODE

*2020-10-05, version 3.4.1*

PLEASE ADD A DARK MODE! I love having my to do list on my phone. It lets me add so many things “before I forget”. I am more productive and can better organize my day. Being able to sort the folders so you see certain categories of things first is awesome. However, the white background is so so bright. I would love to be able to use this app on dark mode with a black background and white text.

### 5/5 — USE THIS ONE

*2020-09-29, version 3.4.1*

No matter how much I research to do lists, I always come back to this one: easy on the eyes, clear, offers a ridiculous number of ways to organize and analyze your tasks. Nothing will get you around actually having to do the tasks. I don’t understand the ratings. I don’t get what people find to gripe about. Syncs beautifully with an iPad Pro. I will probably resurrect my paid subscription to get the subtask feature. Again, just get this one.
