*** There are 20 categories with 230+ high quality pictures (supporting retina display) with matching voice prompts to facilitate selection.

*** This app does not require internet connection, your kids can play anytime anywhere !!!

Categorization skills also guide children in their rapid acquisition of conceptual and linguistic knowledge (Waxman & Kosowski 1990).

ToonWare Categories for Speech and Language Therapy app is designed and developed by a certified Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist to assist children ages 3 to 7 years increase their communication skills. It helps children in the six areas crucial to literacy development – categorization of everyday objects/animals, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and expression. The Categories app has three levels, making it challenging and fun at the same time. Throughout the three different levels the child has to be able to understand the relationship between the pictures shown and find the category to which they belong.

- Level One (Easy), A picture of an item is shown and the child has to identify the category that it belongs to among 5 selections.

- Level Two (Medium), Three pictures are shown and the child has to be able to understand the relationship
between the objects and identify the category to which they belong.

- Level Three (Hard), The child has to find the pictures that belong to the given category.

Parents, speech language pathologist, special educators, and preschool teachers can use the Category app.

ToonWare Categories for Speech and Language Therapy app is available to download on iPhone ™ 4 , 4S and 5, iPad ™, iPad Mini ™ and iPod Touch ™. It is also available in Turkish under “Kategoriler”. Other versions in Spanish and Mandarin are in the works.

### 1/5 — Too much reading with immature app

*2016-03-27, version 1.3*

This app is great for young children however, the reading that has to go with it is at a higher level then the app. It just doesn't correlate well. When children can read at that level they will know the category.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for children and very fun

*2015-06-09, version 1.3*

I really like this app. It is very educational and it really helps children learn how to categorize items. As someone who has bad communication skills, I am confident that this app will help children develop communication skills and increase their comprehension. The app is simple to use and I like that it has three different levels. I also like how it congratulates you for picking the right answer. I also like how after each round, it shows animals and you could sort the animals how you want. Overall, this app is useful for parents who are trying to help their kids develop social skills and phonics skills.

### 5/5 — Fun yet challenging and encouraging!

### 4/5 — Kid friendly

*2015-06-09, version 1.3*

I am an occupational therapist and I work with kids. I think they would enjoy this app. It was simple and fun. It would make them focus, visually scan and use accurate fine motor movements to scroll through the options and select the correct choice. I liked it and would recommend it as a kid friendly app.

### 5/5 — Great app for kids!

*2015-06-09, version 1.3*

This is a great app for any kid in the 3-7 range. It helps with word associations and finding a similarity between words. The option of hearing the words being said over and over is great for any child who has problems with speech development also. Finally the music and the graphics are really cute and fun for this age!!!

### 5/5 — Great learning game

*2015-06-09, version 1.3*

I think this game is great for kids learning how to categorize things with words. The pronunciation is very clear. It's also a lot of fun to play. I think the fact that this is fun will keep a child very focused and concentrated. It also has 3 levels, giving a child more incentive to keep playing and learning. All around great game.

### 5/5 — Great app for kids, awesome animations and fun

*2015-06-08, version 1.3*

I downloaded this app for my three year old niece and she loves it. The animations are great and it is a fun learning tool for kids! A must have app to teach kids about daily things that they see in a fun way.

### 5/5 — Cool app!!!

*2015-06-08, version 1.3*

This is actually a very cool game. I first thought it would be boring or a little kids game, but in the end, it was actually pretty fun. The more I played it, the more addicting and fun it became. It is an interesting game.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2015-06-07, version 1.3*

This app is great for kids to learn picture/word association. It has fun music and graphics that even I enjoy! It has three levels, so plenty of room to learn more. It's beneficial to bilingual children as well because the will not only know the picture of a "cat," but they will learn the word associated with it.
