### 2/5 — Great at first then turned to slop like every other app

*2026-08-25, version 3.0.1*

This app worked for the first two weeks to upscale images. I paid for the annual subscription at $109. I didn’t have an issue as long as I was I getting great results. Then one day I go to upscale my images and it says I need to upgrade to a high package. The image I tried to scale exceeded the 32 mp plan limit apparently. I emailed support thinking it had to do with running out of some sort of monthly credits for upscales. No you can have unlimited upscales so long as they do not exceed 32mp. I find this strange because every image i uploaded at first worked fine scaled all the way to 8x. All of sudden every image exceeds 32mp, and I can’t upscale more than 2x. It seems as thought this happened overnight and the only real solution is upgrade to the Pro plan for $300+. I’m not a professional, I don’t need all that. I will be cancelling and deleting this app since it no longer works like it should. Disappointing because this was the best app I found for upscaling that wasn’t outrageously priced for an annul subscription.

### 3/5 — Backwards move

Just sort the reviews by recent to see how it really is now…

Gigapixel for iphone was near perfect. It did one thing really really really well and other things pretty good. Speed was totally acceptable and image quality was superb. Now it’s been re-launched and it’s a big miss. The one thing it was best at (and best known for) is now straight up gone with a lesser option sort of still present, but way less useful. My “standard” subscription is now “cloud lite”, and every single step takes 10x longer. Uploading a 500kb file? 15-20 seconds. Waiting to process, waiting to view what was processed, waiting to download. And it went from png perfect quality download to compressed jpegs. The only control you needed was for redefine - keeping everything at low gave you the best straight up enlargement and slight sharpness you’d be likely to find anywhere. That control is gone - that model is gone. There’s more 99% useless gimmicks that you’ll maybe try once, and the base, the core function you’d come to love (and depend on) has been stripped away. What’s autopilot doing? Zero control. Unpredictable results. 4x as many taps to get something done. A waiting time so unpredictable that I can’t count on it and just didn’t use it today. Why apps that are just about the gold standard go and mess with perfection is totally beyond me. Now you’ve got a library of images that don’t want to delete - or if you delete them in one place they’re still buried in another. No one’s looking for lightroom on their phone - it was perfect at what it did. And most importantly, 100% reliable and dependable. Now I get no-control results that are obvious ai, wait times that range from minutes to an hour, compressed results, and less basic control. I’m sure what made it great is still inside there…somewhere…but now it’s overly complicated trying to be simple but wound up stripping what made it work.

### 1/5 — $500 for an app every year?

*2026-07-25, version 3.0.0*

No thanks it’s wasting money for this app in Ai century .

### 1/5 — Warning! It’s just an upsell scam!

*2026-07-25, version 3.0.0*

Within one hour of paying for my Topaz account I was contacted by an account manager telling me I had to pay to upgrade to a professional account. I am not a content creator, I don’t work with licensed content, and my business nowhere near generates their income threshold for professional accounts. This is a scam - don’t get played on an annual or monthly subscription as you might not even be able to use it without paying more.

### 1/5 — Reported

*2026-07-20, version 3.0.0*

I’ve reported this app for not providing a simple way to delete your account which is required per the App Store Review Guidelines.

### 1/5 — Horrible & Uneeded Overhaul

*2026-07-19, version 3.0.0*

Idk what yall did but the new features and UI are horrible and they do not produce half as half as much as it used to do before the update. I cancelled my subscription until it goes back to how it used to be.

### 1/5 — Terrible redesign

*2026-07-18, version 3.0.0*

The app is no longer functional. Thanks for nothing

### 2/5 — Can’t test without payment.

*2026-07-16, version 3.0.0*

Unable to test the app. It asks paid subscription without trial.

### 1/5 — You killed a decent app

*2026-07-15, version 3.0.0*

Overnight. New icon. New interface. The app decides what to do. I actually liked telling the app how much of what ameliorations I wanted on a picture. You took a decent app and hosed it. Not to mention when I did try and restore a couple pictures it just didn’t do anything and then finally when it did procedure putout, it was the same picture that was input.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-07-15, version 3.0.0*

No free functions. Personal subscription only at price $999/mo or annual at $9990/yr

### 1/5 — Horrible nuw update

*2026-07-14, version 3.0.0*

I used this app like a month ago it was perfect, but now its hard to use and is taking over 10 min per image using wifi, horrible horrible update
Dont waste your $20 bucks

### 1/5 — Utterly Outrageous IAP Prices

*2026-07-14, version 3.0.0*

Did you know that the cost of the subscription is more than the cost of the software whiz performs much better than the mobile app which is just trash? Did you know that you know that Topaz Labs was bought out by Adobe … yes the same company whose subscriber prices are over the top and the company that has taken your rights as a creator away from you by hijacking’s you photos and any other creation?

When Topaz was bought out, all of my update subscription expired immediately despite 11 months still remaining. No more updates. This is typical Adobe trench ware fare practices at work.

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ADOBE OR TOPAZ PRODUCTS ANYMORE. CORPORATE GREED AT WORK‼️

### 1/5 — Forced to renew subscription

*2026-07-14, version 3.0.0*

First of all I was forced to renew my subscription. It did not carry over. Secondly the new workflow is not user friendly at all compared to the last version. Will cancel

### 1/5 — Plus rien ne fonctionne depuis la mise à jour

*2026-07-13, version 3.0.0*

Erreur 402 pour toute tentative d’édition… merci…

### 1/5 — The app may be free but nothing in the app is.

*2026-07-10, version 2.0.7*

You can’t do anything in the app without buying a subscription. Which is kinda sad because I remember that didn’t used to be the case.

### 1/5 — What's going on?

*2026-07-06, version 2.0.7*

The big apps from this company can be horribly confusing. Apps are losing much of the once coveted simplicity. Tutorials are not that helpful. Could it be that the company is moving into survival mode to compete against rising competition? On top of everything some review have shared a sense of being taken advantage of. If perception is reality...

Enough of this foolishness. App deleted.

### 1/5 — Topizrael Labs

*2026-07-03, version 2.0.7*

unfortunate that insatiable greed has ruined yet another useful app. This app has zero function unless you pay them money. Why not just charge money for the app instead of it being a free app with no use? Ridiculous

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2026-07-03, version 2.0.7*

Not sure what happened with the update but it keeps signing me out frequently and takes a long time to get results so I deleted.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — For sale

*2026-08-15, version 3.0.1*

App for paying

### 1/5 — Waste of My Time and Money

*2026-08-14, version 3.0.1*

Awful. Slow is an understatement, and then I get an error when it finally finishes and I try to save. There was no free trial and $18 for a month . . such a waste of my time and money.

### 1/5 — Wow

*2026-08-05, version 3.0.0*

It freezes everything out. It uploads it appears like it’s fixing the picture, but I can’t do anything with the picture. I can’t download it. I can’t go back in the app it freezes. You fixed it so good it doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-08-04, version 3.0.0*

Long time Topaz user, the pc/Mac products are amazing but after signing up for a month I found this had very minimal effects on recovering focus. The autopilot mode took 10mins, there were no noticeable differences on the before/after previews. Subscription reluctantly cancelled.

### 1/5 — Crashes ALL the time	since update

*2026-08-01, version 3.0.0*

Since update from Gigapixel AI this app crashes every time it is in the middle of updating a photo. Not only that but I got double charged last month for $6.99 and $49.99. I hate the new interface and the options don’t make sense.

### 1/5 — Stick to ChatGPT

*2026-08-01, version 3.0.0*

I used iPhone and it was Absolutely horrendous quality! I used generative restore on the standard setting on a blurry picture of a woman and not only did it take forever, but the result was disgusting. It was so bad! Like so many levels bad. It was as if it was 2022 and ai was barely coming out.

I used a blurry image of a woman and besides the cheap quality it BUTCHERED her face!!!! Her face and skin look like anime all airbrushed and cheap quality and unrealistic and her teeth don’t even look like teeth they look like red artifacts resembling shark fangs or ugly braces and even her pliltrum has red artifacts as if her upper lip was torn. Got her looking like a horror game character from 2002.

Looking at her mouth pisses me off still.

ChatGPT used to do that years ago sometimes but not anymore.

It’s 2026. I’m getting a refund asap deleting this trash. Even if it was free. It would still be trash.

### 1/5 — Nur mit Abo möglich?!

*2026-07-30, version 3.0.0*

Schrecklich!

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2026-07-29, version 3.0.0*

Don’t waste your money

### 1/5 — 😡

*2026-07-27, version 3.0.0*

The app just doesn’t work. Again. For the umpteenth time.
Photos won’t load. Buttons do absolutely nothing when tapped.
I’m paying you money. If you’re happy just taking it and doing nothing in return — you’re heading straight downhill. 😡

### 1/5 — nothing works

*2026-07-26, version 3.0.0*

couldn’t render a single image as a sample - paid $12 and the app doesn’t work - not features are clickable

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Best App for Wildlife

*2026-08-16, version 3.0.1*

This app is the best app I’ve ever used for photos- specifically for wildlife photos. The photos look so natural and the app is easy to use. It really enhances the print quality. I love the Upscale and Unblur features. Workflows are very easy and the updates make the app even easier to use. I’ve used for non- wildlife photos as well and it works great. Well done!

### 5/5 — Очень круто💖

*2026-06-06, version 2.0.7*

Я использую бесплатную версию, приложение просто огонь, лучше всех конкурентов

### 5/5 — Can’t delete past photos

*2026-05-22, version 2.0.4*

the actual enhance feature works well, but almost 90% of past image uploads cannot be deleted from the app; when I touch and hold on a picture, it does nothing. only for a few pictures does it show the delete options. I assume this is a bug. it needs to be fixed asap

### 5/5 — A bit of a pain but incredible results.

*2026-05-15, version 2.0.4*

The results are incredible, but the output files are huge. I have to shrink them with Luminar Neo. Also, sometimes their servers are slow or won’t let you log in. The results are worth the trouble though.

### 5/5 — Magique!

*2026-05-14, version 2.0.3*

La meilleure application pour améliorer la définition de photos! Elle fait des miracles! Le service à la clientèle est aussi très aidant si jamais on a besoin de conseils.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-03-17, version 1.6.2*

Great for restoring then upsizing public domain photos to turn into prints!

### 5/5 — The best

*2026-03-16, version 1.6.2*

Works well. Nothing else on this level of editing

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-03-13, version 1.6.2*

Great

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2026-02-26, version 1.6.2*

To expensive but free trial is great

### 5/5 — Best

*2026-02-23, version 1.6.2*
