There are a lot bots as well, asking for money or to ‘pay to play’ which is annoying. You can unlock features within the chats ( voice,video,etc.) by how frequent both parties are communicating.i like that you can set moments to only an audience of your choice or public. You do get flagged on profile or moments’ pics for things that are not even in appropriate. Toy control is easy to use and you can set duration when playing with someone new. Only downer is that it does not have the option to control multiple toys at once like the lovense app nor have I been able to send a video within a convo by using the camera in chat. You have to do it in your phone camera app then send. You could post the pictures you wanted, make a post so you can feel like you are actually interacting with people. As a woman who uses this app, I used to get tons of notifications about new people liking or visiting my profile, but as the app updated, I got fewer and fewer interactions. Now it feels like the whole app is dead! I'll go days and sometimes weeks without getting a notification. ### 1/5 — Sexist App - Unequal & Pay-Gated *2025-11-26* I’ve used Tophy for a while, and it used to be a social discovery app: fun, conversational, and balanced. Recently, though, the platform seems to have shifted heavily toward monetized interactions, especially involving sexual content and paid access to chats, calls, and sexual-themed features. The biggest concern is a clear imbalance in how features are enabled by default. Female accounts automatically receive options to charge money for video calls, phone calls, and content, while male accounts do not have the same configuration available. If accurate, this is a gender-based feature limitation, which raises questions around fairness, equality, and potentially discrimination. A platform that serves a diverse community shouldn’t restrict earning or feature access based on gender alone. If the app intends to be adult-content-focused, that should be made extremely clear up front. If the goal is connection, conversation, and meeting new people, then the current structure leans too far into pay-to-interact dynamics and makes the experience inequitable. I hope the developers reconsider this direction. Equal access to monetized features for all users, regardless of gender, would make Tophy feel more ethical, transparent, and enjoyable again. Until then, it’s hard to recommend the app the way I once did. ### 1/5 — Banned with no reason *2025-11-21, version 3.33.1* I was banned from this app and not given a reason why, or a chance to plead my case to them (still don’t know what I did) And the amount of fake profiles on the app is absurd! The ONLY cool part of the app is having the toys linked up. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-11-18, version 3.33.0* Waste of money. The discover tab shows the same 10 people over and over. This app should be restricted off of the App Store immediately and this developer investigated for sex trafficking as multiple users are far under aged. Buncha bs ### 1/5 — Scammers only *2026-02-13, version 3.37.4* Within 2 hour of downloading, I was threatened with blackmail and extortion twice, its pay to call, immediately you start receiving calls from their bots, and when you report the activity the respond with “doesn’t merit any action” ### 1/5 — May Contain spy-where Apple needs to remove! *2026-01-09* Warning about a deceptive and unsafe app experience I want to warn people about an app I recently installed that presented itself as being linked to a product, but immediately behaved in ways I consider misleading and unsafe. As soon as it launched, it redirected me to a dating-style service that I never requested. Almost instantly, I began receiving generic “your profile looks great” style messages that appeared automated or fake. When I attempted to limit notifications and protect my privacy, the app tried to charge £29 per month just to enable basic privacy controls, which is unacceptable. During use and uninstall, it also made alarming claims about facial recognition, camera, and microphone access without clear, informed consent. After uninstalling, I encountered a suspicious login-style prompt while using Facebook, which raised serious concerns about deceptive design and potential credential harvesting. To be clear: I have since checked my device settings thoroughly and removed the app completely. I am reporting this to Apple because I believe this app demonstrates predatory subscription practices, misleading behaviour, and serious privacy concerns. Please be cautious. If an app pressures you with fear, fake interactions, or paywalls for privacy — that’s a red flag. ### 1/5 — Fake accounts *2025-12-26, version 3.35.0* Maybe 1% real people, the rest is all fake I hope the owners of this app loose control of this, and the app closes.
