## What is TopicLingo?

Ever sat in a meeting — or at a dinner table — while everyone tossed around a buzzword you'd never heard? TopicLingo fixes that in three minutes a day.

LEARN THE LANGUAGE OF TODAY'S CONVERSATIONS

Every day you get a short pack of Trending Topics from the fields YOU pick: the vocabulary the smartest people in tech, finance, medicine, and culture are suddenly using. Every term is a beautifully set card with a plain-English definition, why it matters, why it's trending right now — and a convo starter, an intriguing question you can actually ask in real conversation. A quick quiz locks it in.

RAMP UP IN ANY FIELD

New job in AI? Switching industries? Foundations tracks teach a field's core vocabulary in order, from the absolute basics to the frontier — every one of the twelve topics has a full track, from "token" to "agentic AI", from "bull market" to "capex supercycle". Finish a track, earn your Fluent badge, and graduate to trending-only.

MAKE IT EXACTLY YOUR FEED

• Pick one topic or a dozen — narrow Sports to just Softball if that's your world
• A single labelled wildcard a day peeks beyond your topics (mute it any time)
• Browse everything else trending, save words you like, follow new topics in one tap
• Keep going past the daily pack with extra rounds whenever you're hungry for more

A HABIT THAT COMPOUNDS

• Daily streaks with earnable streak freezes
• XP and ten levels, from Listener to Oracle
• Badges for breadth, consistency, and being ahead of the curve
• My Words — a searchable collection of every term you've made yours, with spaced reviews that turn "seen" into "mastered"
• Share any word as a beautiful card image to group chats and socials

FRESH EVERY DAY

New vocabulary lands daily as the conversation changes. Twelve topics: Technology & AI, Finance & Investing, Business & Startups, Medicine & Health, Science & Space, Climate & Energy, Politics & World, Sports, Entertainment, Pop Culture & Internet, Gaming, and Parenting & Family.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account, no sign-up. Your progress lives on your device. Works offline — the day's pack is always ready.

Three minutes a day of word study — trending terms, buzzwords, slang, and jargon explained — and you'll never feel out of the loop again.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-21

Read today’s words without opening the app

· Pull down the morning reminder and today’s terms are a list — one word per line, all of them, instead of one run-on sentence that trailed off after the second word.
· If an ad ever freezes on its countdown, coming back to TopicLingo now picks up where you left off instead of leaving you on the results screen, and it no longer costs you the day’s ad.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-18

A proper typesetting pass

· Every quote mark and apostrophe in the app is now typographic, the way the rest of the type has always been set.
· Numbers — your XP ledger, your streak, your level — sit on the baseline and line up in a column instead of bobbing about.
· Badges say which track they belong to. Six tracks used to share one "Level 1 complete" with no way to tell them apart.
· Locked badges are visible now, so you can see what you are working toward.
· Menus, dialogs, prompts and the little pop-up messages match the rest of the app instead of arriving in a different colour and typeface.
· On a wildcard card, "not interested" no longer sits exactly where you have just tapped four times.
· You can leave the quiz. Back used to do nothing at all.
· Bigger tap targets on the topic chips, and the app reads properly on a tablet.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-14

A morning nudge that tells you the words

· Your morning reminder now names the terms waiting for you, instead of just saying they are ready.
· Rewrote the plain-English line on 104 of the built-in terms. Some of them commented on the word instead of explaining it.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-14

Fixes the GO DEEPER button — it now searches for your actual word.
Plus everything from 1.0.1: buttons stay on screen (no scrolling to reach them), fresher day-one packs, and more varied quizzes in the daily feed.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-11

Fixes the GO DEEPER button — it now searches for your actual word.
Plus everything from 1.0.1: buttons stay on screen (no scrolling to reach them), fresher day-one packs, and more varied quizzes in the daily feed.
