## What is TOPIK Vocab?

TOPIK Vocab helps you build the Korean vocabulary you need to pass the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) — one card at a time, no fluff, no scripted lessons.

Built around the actual TOPIK Level 1 and 2 word lists, every entry includes the Korean word, a clear English meaning, and a natural example sentence so you learn how the word actually behaves in a real sentence, not just what it means in a dictionary.

FEATURES
• 4,353 vocabulary entries covering TOPIK Levels I and II
• Korean word + English meaning + example sentence for every entry
• Smart spaced repetition — words you keep getting wrong come back more often
• Weak Words list — see every word you've struggled with, study them in one go
• Chapter-based progress tracking so you always know where you left off
• Auto-detects your device language at first launch: Japanese device shows Japanese, anything else shows English. Change it any time in Settings.
• Works offline once installed — no account needed
• Optional Premium unlocks dark mode, landscape rotation, ad-free studying, audio TTS, and weak-words filtering

ABOUT TOPIK
The Test of Proficiency in Korean (한국어능력시험) is the official Korean language exam administered by Korea's National Institute for International Education. Level I is beginner; Level II is intermediate. This app's word list is built from the official TOPIK word frequency bank used by test-prep books.

WHO IT'S FOR
• Anyone studying for the TOPIK exam
• K-pop and K-drama fans who want to actually understand the lyrics and dialogue
• Korean heritage speakers building literacy
• Language exchange partners brushing up before a meetup
• Travelers spending more than a tourist week in Seoul or Busan

WHAT'S DIFFERENT
Most "learn Korean" apps want to hold your hand with gamified streaks and made-up sentences. TOPIK Vocab assumes you can read Hangul and just gets out of your way: tap to flip, swipe to mark known, move on. The app remembers what's hard for you and brings it back when it should.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-29

Two new chapters to browse — Colors and Vehicles.

• Picture Words now has seven themed chapters: Colors (20 words) and Vehicles (35 words).

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-28

A whole new way to browse — meet Picture Words.

• New "Picture Words" level — five themed chapters of nouns: Plants, Animals, Vegetables, Food Ingredients, and Insects & Bugs, around 180 words in all. They're meaning-only, so you can breeze through the vocabulary without example sentences.
• Chapters are now self-contained. Each chapter focuses on just its own words instead of folding in the previous chapters, so sessions are shorter and more focused — and the Review feature still ties everything together across chapters.

Thanks for studying with us!

### 1.2.0 — 2026-07-21

• Review is now free for everyone. Your first 2 days are completely ad-free; after that, one short ad unlocks unlimited review for the rest of the day.
• Grade each word Easy, Hard, or Don't Know. "Hard" eases the interval back one step instead of resetting it, and "Don't Know" keeps the word in today's queue until you get it right (Anki-style same-day relearning).
• New "Basics" level — 300 essential words in 6 chapters, a gentler starting point before TOPIK I.
• "My Words" is rebuilt and free for everyone: browse the All / Weak / Today / Mastered tabs, search any word, and tap a row to reveal its meaning, example, and audio.
• Premium is now simply ad-free studying, plus landscape rotation, dark mode, and audio playback.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-06-14

Daily review is now available on the free plan too

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-04

Fixed an advertising playback error.
