I frequently forget to stop recording and end up with a realistic hike record. But the flags should scale down in size whilst zoomed in. Useful when traveling in the dark. Only problem I have is not being able to edit tracks. It allows for gps tracking and offline map downloads for use with no cell or data service. And doesn’t seem to even draw much battery. Basic waypoint marking and tracing trails are great for planning routes and estimating times for hiking. Only thing I would ask for is an option for unlocking map orientation. Location and direction works well enough but having the map orient with it would be the icing on the cake. Best of all it’s free. Would happily pay a one time fee for it as I’m so sick of subscription models of other navigation apps. Or the ability to purchase high resolution maps of certain areas. Very rare these days. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App does not work *2025-05-20, version 6.4.3* Major issues where the app just downloads 30-40 apps, but nowhere in the app do they load. You try to zoom into an area, and it prompts you to zoom out, giving no information in the location or area of interest. There’s not a usable trail function to identify the topography of a desired trail. It even fails at loading the downloaded maps onto its interface. It’s quite concerning and questionable where and what the files downloaded were, as they are nowhere to be found inside the interface and cannot be retrieved. ### 1/5 — No map *2025-01-22, version 6.4.2* All I see is a checkerboard. This is a shame because this is one the best mapping apps I have ever used before this change. As a newbie prospector, I search high and low for a good Offline GPS app for my iPhone. Topo Maps Canada answers all my needs. It locates anywhere regardless of service and has random trails marked that have long overgrown.
