The problem is this glitch that keeps happening. What happens is some packs have the option to save time and just buy the pack five or ten packs at a time BUT IT ONLY GIVES YOU ONE PACK! A more open marketplace where you can post what you have available or even auction them off for coins would be a lot more fun in my opinion. Also, don’t even waste your time trying to get extra coins by using the tapjoy survey feature. They never work, and they just link you to websites that obliterate your email address with spam and sell your personal data. When there is no way to get a card other than to trade, it kinda gives the person the trade was offered to, to much power. Also, an auctioning system would give cards a coin value instead of just a rarity. I haven’t seen them as contest rewards yet, so I’m assuming they’re gone. If that’s the case, will users who have hundreds of leftover tickets from last year be able to trade in unused tickets for coins or diamonds? And when I say freeze, I mean FREEZE! To the point where I would close the app, come back 4-5 hours later and it’s still frozen. Very aggravating! Only way it can be unfrozen is to totally reboot my iPhone. I should also point out every time it deducted whatever I was using to make the purchase and didn’t ever give me any cards. Blows the competition away. Organized and fun. I wish the season lasted all year to play their fantasy game more. ### 3/5 — App improvements *2022-07-14, version 19.2.0* The app could use some improvement in the rewards department ( better mystery boxes) and a system not unlike the bunt app in the topps now dept. Ex…… be able to buy the set for $.99 and get diamonds and points to boot. Wouldn’t feel like a rip off then. ### 2/5 — It’s ok, but huge flaws *2022-06-20, version 19.0.0* Topps Skate is fun, but it pales in comparison to Topps Bunt. The trading system in Skate is terrible compared to Bunt (in Skate, you have no idea what others need). The odds shown in Skate to find inserts are wildly inaccurate - I just opened 27 packs in order to get one card that had 1:5 odds. Too many sets have the lowest value insert card as 1:10 odds or worse…I don’t want to open 270 packs to complete a 27 card set. Duplicate rates are awful…when you’re looking for thst last card for your set, you’ll accumulate 11 or 12 duplicates of 10 other cards. Topps Bunt really goes all out with new avatars every year (rookies, deaths, retired numbers, etc), and Bunt gives free coins for every big achievement throughout the year, whereas Skate does none of that. For example, I have 0 coins currently, and I can use selling a card to buy packs. Nothing against you, just requesting a new feature ### 4/5 — Fine but can’t get legendarys from packs *2022-06-04, version 19.0.0* Ok great game but only contest let you get diamonds and that’s how you get legendarys pretty much in 2020 you had a chance too get legendarys and I got lucky and got one yes packs were more expensive and it was hard to get coins but you were able to get better cards and they had better art for the card I’m not saying the ones now are bad but not as good as back then the odds are like they are like 4x more then what they say just saying. **Developer response:** Hi There, Thank you for your feedback. My big grief is with the odds listed when ripping packs to find an super rare, iconic or legendary. I just ripped 200,000 coins worth of tribute packs & didn’t get a single “super rare” card. I do appreciate the layout of the app. It’s easy to find your own cards by rarity which is something panini lacks in. I do also think topps can or should add an auction house. That would give the user the opportunity to try to get the cards they want without having to trade for them while also being able to gain coins to either buy single cards in the auction house or rip more packs. Trading is a nice feature but it doesn’t show users specific value in some of the rarer cards. Everything about it. Im an avid bruins fan and put hockey over all other sports. I have multiple autographed jerseys and ive been to Td garden more times then i can count to watch my boys. And this game gives me a taste of my childhood again. But i will say ive been having an issue loading my trade screens. It keeps saying error. Please fix that bug. I wish I could vote 0 or negative stars. Read the comments on any new pack drop. The user base for Skate is completely furious and the developers aren’t doing a thing about it. Pack odds are a joke, so good luck completing your sets or finding that card you want unless you want to shell out $100/wk in diamonds. Packs for the 24 season are incredibly boring and are using really bad quality images on them. Some even are using the identical photos as the last season. It’s blatantly clear that all these people care about is micro transactions and getting as much money out of you as they possibly can. The developers need to read the room, listen to their user base and quit being so greedy. Last season was near perfectly balanced as far as structure, and had to go and completely screw it all up. Change things back to how they were. Because how it is now is really upsetting to a LOT of people. Get it together, Topps. Looking forward to hearing from you! ### 1/5 — Topps is Pricing themselves out *2023-09-05* Used to have fun in this app. Odds were fair to get a decent card and you didn’t feel the “need” to buy diamonds as often. You found always find a trade and usually end up with the card you wanted. I had fun interactions with others on the app who were true fans of the game of hockey and collecting. More recently Topps has made it almost impossible to keep up wit collections…laziness in cards where you see same pictures being used on different sets. Legendary upon legendary cards with awards, forcing you to buy hundreds of dollars on diamonds just to keep up, but with pack odds and actual value of cards but equal to what you get. Many long time collectors are leaving due to costs, horrible people holding cards for ransoms and fear after seeing what happened to Kick. Some folks on here spent thousands per month and no longer get the card they want. This is either a result of greed for $ or terrible direction from someone at Topps. Either way, they are going to lose more loyalty and folks will stop dumping money in the app. If that’s the goal to just make this go away, then I don’t see Topps changing. **Developer response:** Hi there, Thank you for your feedback! What is not enjoyable are all the other users. Never have I seen so much hate and bullying in one place. When you report it the customer service is terrible. It takes days to respond and if they actually respond they just give you the link to the rules and do nothing. I have now deleted the app since the game is a very toxic and unwelcoming community. Thank you! ### 1/5 — Award Contest Prizes to Wrong Accounts *2022-07-19, version 19.2.0* For the 2022 playoff season they advertised a playoff contest where you enter a lineup of your best players playing in that nights games. Players you enter score you points. After months of entering nightly for the playoffs no one was awarded anything. The Developers copy pasted the 2021 contest results and awarded the same winners from 2021 prizes again. Huge waste of time and huge waste of money!!!! ### 1/5 — Unfortunate *2022-02-06, version 18.0* I enjoyed this game, and have spent more than I’m proud to admit on diamonds, and then ran into an error where the purchase ‘completed’, my money taken, but no diamonds received. I reached out to customer care, and provided all requested, but was continuously told to provide more. Not worth it. Play it safe folks, and avoid spending money on the app if you do download it. It’s not worth the struggle for when they error. ### 1/5 — What the….? *2022-02-04, version 18.0* I have been using this app everyday for months. I follow all the rules, never have any problems. Two days ago I open the app and I am logged out. This had never happened before, but I was not worried. I try signing in and it says “this account does not exist”. I send a ticket to support and don’t receive any feedback. 24-hours of not being able to sign in or know what is happening. I missed coins, contests, and completing sets. Now I am able to sign in but I don’t have any explanation on what happened. I give them my user name and email address and they send me a password reset for an account that isn’t mine and doesn’t exist. 3 months later Inwas able to get back in, but now the app crashes because it doesn’t support older iPhones. Save yourself some head ache and stay away. ### 1/5 — Topps hypocrites *2022-01-21, version 17.2.0* People who run this app are bunch of hypocrites … I had uncomfortable conversation with this very annoying trader and I got suspended within 1 hour for 24hours ! Then another different conversation appeared and the other person cursed me with the “F” word , when I reported nothing happened to him within many days yet he kept showing off on my chat stating he can curst people as much as he want because he spend $20-30 a week and they will never ban his account … This shameless app is full of discrimination and dividing people … shame on you Topps skate ! Then all seemed fine when I just continued as a guest. The app worked when I was using it the first time I was ripping packs, collecting cards, crafting better cards, even though it was super confusing what the point was and the sets(like the red, green, white, among others). Eventually I just signed up with apple to keep the collections and whatnot. Unfortunately I’m going to have to delete it from my phone since I can never get past the loading screen anymore. It gets to 40% and then gives me an error message. Not a terrible app idea especially with the card collecting interest surge since the pandemic. Needs some work to make the collections/sets more laid out and clearer. You use to be able to grind and get good cards off of coins, but now you almost certainly have to spend money on diamonds. I’ve opened over 400 packs the past two months and hit a staggering 3 super rares. I’m done. Completing base sets is only fun for so long.
