I have used this app for years, even worked around the camera focus problem and now the update to fix the focus problem has made it impossible to scan any barcodes. The focus is great, but no barcode outline is created so no barcodes are recognized. The update killed the app.

Similar to some other reviewers, the most recent update resulted in the app not scanning barcodes at all (but they’re not blurry either). I’m running this on iOS 26.6 on iPhone 15 Pro. Hoping for a quick fix!

A recent update indicated the blurry image which would not allow the scanning of a barcode was fixed. It has not as of 8/22/26. The app is great, when it works. I hope it gets fixed soon.

I had experienced the blurry camera for several months and was excited that the recent update “fixed” the problem — until I attempted to use it today. The camera does not scan at all!  The + appears, but it does not read the barcode!  I tried several times in various lighting and also restarted the app a number of times. Please fix it!!!!!

I find this app to be very helpful. You can bag your groceries right after scanning each item while shopping, and you don’t have to wait in cashier line and you don’t have to scan item by item at the end of your shopping trip. It’s a true time saver. Unfortunately, since a recent Apple update there have been several problems with the app. The camera becomes unfocused and won’t scan properly. This is frustrating. I also have found the app scans an item twice, even when you only have one. My last three shopping trips I’ve discovered multiple over charges. I even went as far as to count how many items I had in my cart before checking out on my last trip. There were 29 items. When I got home and read the receipt, I had been charged for 33 items. I’ve called Tops repeatedly and they said there was a known issue, but it doesn’t seem like they want to fix it.

I see a lot of negative reviews but I use this app all the time and it works fine. Sometimes you get an error when you scan something but it says you can keep shopping and it will catch up. It always does. Checking out at self checkout by just scanning one code and paying is so much better than playing store employee and holding up the checkout lines.
