Topdon updates and improves it frequently, and actually listens to feedback from its users. It’s got good coverage in regards to bidirectional controls. I was able to trigger the dynamic calibration on a 2017 GMC terrain, which surprised me. I was about to calibrate a blind spot on a Subaru. Only thing that needs improvement is the scan time, sometimes it takes awhile. But it’s faster after a few updates. All in all I would recommend this for a diyer or even a tech starting out. I’ve been using it in a production environment. ### 5/5 — Powerful small scannner *2023-06-01* I’ve been extremely impressed with this scan tool so far. It seems to cover 80-90 percent of what a factory scan tool does. It covers all systems on the vehicle to scan codes, read data, reading ECU calibrations, and even a lot of control functions and resets. Most small OBD 2 plugs that are designed to work with a phone are just ELM327 interfaces that give you some engine data and codes. This Topscan does so much more. This tool may be intended for a DIY user, but has become one of my most used scan tools as an automotive professional. It’s usually the first tool I grab for a quick scan and data review, or something I take on test drives to confirm repairs and make sure no codes reset because it’s small and easy to use. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 3/5 — Not a fair review *2023-03-21* Still waiting on the iPad Version of this app. iPad Version just emulates the iPhone app and it's slow on my iPad. ### 4/5 — Capable Bluetooth Scan Tool *2023-06-27* I was sent this Portable Scan Tool to be part of the Beta Testing Program. Improvements have been happening rather regularly. This is a very capable device for a small portable Bluetooth Scanner. Well worth the initial cost is you work on any automobile. Downsides is there is a yearly subscription cost in order to update the software. Currently there is no dedicated iPad Version (Current version is an expanded iPhone Version). I also own the XTOOL A30M and feel that scan tool is far superior in user interface, capabilities, has a dedicated iPad Version & software updates are Free for life of the tool. I did give this tool a 4 Star Rating as per it has its place in the marketplace & No scan tool is 100% capable so you definitely need more than one scan tool in your toolbox. ### 4/5 — Great Tool *2023-06-07* I’ve been very pleased with what this tool will do!
