This has happened before and today I had to wait 20 minutes at Torquay railway station while a driver came from Teignmouth. This was in spite of booking two hours earlier. It seems to me you have to book the day before if you want to get a cab on time and only then if you want it to come at 6 am. This is not acceptable. Very disappointed with this firm. ### 4/5 — Decent company , alright app , pre-booking needs fixed though as others have also said . *2026-05-08, version 36.22.0* Torbay Taxis have become my number one go to they are usually the most available firm with lots of drivers I find the app mostly easy to use and once you get used to it brilliant, the only negative I have to say about it is that when you pre-book a cab it won’t be there for that time and it only starts looking for drivers when its time , or once it was like 6/8 mins before pick-up time and i went in the app to check and it refreshed it and started looking for a driver, thankfully I wasn’t in a rush but I could understand and would be equally upset as the other customer that made a similar statement but other then that its a good company, I will change my review to 5* if this issue is raised with your app developers to coincide with your systems for pre-booking to show whether it is possible for that time to be achieved 🙂 ### 2/5 — Poor app *2025-05-16, version 36.15.0* App don’t allow you to book for more than 4 people. Different number and emails used and same error message. Annoying. ### 1/5 — No point pre-booking *2025-05-16, version 36.15.0* Having pre booked taxis twice with this firm with many hours notice, each time the car wasn’t allocated until after the requested pick-up time! The first time the allocated car ended up coming from across the opposite side of the bay and we ended up being over 30 mins late for our appointment despite originally booking with plenty of time to spare. The second time, the car allocated was 15mins away despite another of their cars dropping off just a few hundred meters up the road just minutes before. ### 1/5 — Can’t be on time for pre booked rides *2025-02-26* I booked a taxi more than 12 hours in advance for 8:30am. At 8:34am I didn’t have a car allocated to me and no indication in the app or via message that they were running behind. In the app it appeared as though there were cars free in the area. I canceled my prebooking because I had no notification from the company that they were running behind and I thought I might have success requesting one of the nearby cars in the app (you can’t have a prebooking and make another ad hoc request within 20 minutes of each other). I then got a pop up saying “we’re busy, no rides can be booked until 9am”. I called the number and got into a pissing match with the guy on the phone who blamed me for canceling even though my ride wasn’t on time. His excuse was “we can’t always be on time” and further compared themselves to buses and trains which aren’t on time. At least buses and trains give an ETA! I called Torbay Cab Company and had a ride within 10 minutes. Will not use Torbay Taxi. ### 1/5 — Booking in the morning *2024-07-24, version 34.6.15* The app is never accurate I booked a taxi this morning had a text saying the driver was outside and he wasn’t there till about a couple minutes later, which made me late to work and then the driver tried going the long way so it’s more money absolutely disgusting I’ve always use this company in the past and never any issues seems to be happening quite a bit lately ### 1/5 — Taxi company that doesn’t care! *2023-08-29, version 34.3.26* Takes bookings then cancels them just at time taxi is due, when you call they just don’t care! The woman on the phone was rude not once, but twice! I’d never recommended them as they are a disgrace as a company.
