Screen does not dim when started. 2. Torch does not come on until all four torch windows are selected. 3. There is no torch brilliance control (levels 1 to 3 no torch light) 4. Other filter flash timings are inconsistent (e.g. flashes at 1min but not at 2min) Developer got back to me again. This is the information:- “We just confirmed that #1, #2, #3 is an iOS bug. We have reported this issue to Apple. Hopefully they will fix this soon. We tried everything we could, but just couldn’t get around this issue. We are looking into the other issues. “ Well, I have to hand it to the developer, they do keep their users updated with info. Once the issues are sorted by Apple I do believe I will be happy with this App and more importantly very happy with the developer. ### 4/5 — Interesting! *2020-02-14* But would be really good if it also worked as ‘alarm clock’: the light comes on when it ends the count, or at specific time settings. Like: I set the wake up time at 7:00, and the light comes on at 7:00 As for flashing light: I have some torch light apps that have the option to flash, one of these in Morse code. So I suspect there might be some option for flashing/blinking? Thank you anyway! Thanks for the response. Actually, it would not be a problem for me: overnight I charge the phone anyway, and I could set it to ‘never lock’ for the night.... not exactly ideal, but a possibility. But a question: isn’t the iphone clock working as an alarm no matter the status? I also think I have seen some other clock apps working as alarms? **Developer response:** It’s a fascinating idea. But unfortunately it wouldn’t work well because iOS doesn’t allow the app the turn the light on if the screen is locked or the app is put in background. To turn the light on at 7am, the phone screen has to be on throughout the night. Clocks work, yes. Check out my other app 1Timer - Voice Timer (which is free right now), it works when the screen is locked. But it’s just impossible to get the flashlight turned on when the screen is locked. ### 4/5 — Needs a button *2019-09-17* Wish this app had the same minutes/seconds button like Voice Timer. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The option to switch to seconds has been added to settings since version 4.1. Please consider adjusting your rating if that resolved your issue. However, if you still believe it’s four star, we respect your decision. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Used to be my go-to app *2021-11-21* I loved the original GUI for the simplicity of the app. I don’t want the new interface because I don’t need the complication. What has destroyed my dependence on this app is the full page advertisements that pop up to obscure the original interface. When I need to add more time I’m hitting the advert instead which causes Safari to open and the light goes out. I end up having to close Safari and the app in order to be able to use it again. It’s unacceptable. I don’t mind the developer earning revenue with adds but they have destroyed the usefulness of the app. I can not recommend this app any longer. **Developer response:** Thanks for being a long-time user. Thanks. ### 1/5 — No intensity *2020-06-01* I was “adjusting” the light intensity, but it really doesn’t do much. **Developer response:** It is caused by an iOS bug. We have reported this issue to Apple. Hopefully they will fix this soon. But there is only presets, the minimum of which is 30 secs. It’s of no use to me I’m afraid. I wanted it for a very specific use I’ll grant you, but it seems like an oversight not to have any level of fine control over times. ### 3/5 — New UI *2021-12-21, version 6.0.8* Sorry, but the new UI is hideous. Thankfully you’ve given the ability to switch to the old UI ### 3/5 — Doesn’t have flashlight per second in the timer? *2019-12-30* ?? What does the app do? There is no flashing light? **Developer response:** Flashlight here means torchlight. This app does not flash the flashlight. Feel free to get a refund from Apple. Thanks. ### 4/5 — Useful *2025-08-07, version 6.3* I was happy to find this app. I use it to expose photographic contact prints with my phone torch. The UI is a bit odd and not the most intuitive, but once you realise that you can make new timers and set them to second increments it makes sense. It is actually one of the first time I download a mobile app from a small writer . I am using this to time my Christmas string lights this year . Thank you for writing this app. I was originally going to try and write an application myself using Swift and XCode. Then, I tried to find a mobile compiler to do such a thing. I don’t know why I did not think to download an APP from the AppStore. Couldn't be simpler. Super easy way to run your device LED light for a specific amount of time and never worry about forgetting to turn it off, just let this app do it for you. From the main screen simply select the amount of time you want it to run and let 'er rip. Can adjust the brightness level in real time as well. The app automatically dims the screen brightness as well so saves battery at same time. If you dont want the screen to dim you can change that in the app settings.
