## What is Torki?

Torki is a quiet puzzle game about gears — and about the three rules that make every machine work.

A crank turns on the left. A machine on the right needs to turn. Between them, an empty workbench with holes. Your child picks a gear and taps a hole. Gears that touch turn each other, and the machine comes alive.

THREE RULES, NO READING
• Touching gears turn each other.
• Every contact reverses the direction.
• A small gear spins faster than a big one.

That is the whole game. No text on the workbench, no tutorial to sit through, no numbers to read. A four-year-old can play the first world; an eight-year-old meets real ratios in the third.

THREE WORLDS
Chain (ages 4–6) — just make it turn. Touch, transmission, cause and effect.
Direction (ages 6–7) — the target shows an arrow. One more gear flips the direction, and your child discovers parity without anyone naming it.
Ratio (ages 8–10) — the target also shows a pace. Half speed, twice as fast, three times. Fractions, before fractions.

FEWEST GEARS
Finishing is enough for one star. Three stars go to the smallest machine that works. Every level's minimum is computed, never guessed — so the goal is always reachable and always honest.

NO LOSING
No timer, no failure screen, no punishment. A wrong gear is not a mistake; take it off and carry on. The only thing that can stop the machine is a ring with an odd number of gears — and that is a real fact about gears, not a rule we invented.
