### 1/5 — Outage map broken

*2025-12-29*

The outage map shows one huge green circle covering North America! When I tap it, it shows outage details: Updated 05/06/2024 12:27 PM, Outage start time 01/01/2000 12:00 AM, Estimated restoration: (blank), Restoration process: On hold, Affected customers: 1-50.

### 1/5 — As basic as possible

*2025-12-29*

Can’t do much with this app, not even pay a bill. Just write a cheque and send it by courier, it’ll get to 1980 don’t you worry.

### 1/5 — Can’t login to app

*2025-12-28*

The app just keeps asking me to login. I had enabled Face ID and it never stops attempting to login despite deleting the app in hopes of my settings being erased/forgotten

### 1/5 — Cannot view billing

*2025-12-05*

Can’t view billing information, keeps asking me to login over and over, no one is checking this app before releasing it to the public?

### 1/5 — App is not for everyone

*2025-03-30, version 2.2.0*

Definite overlook by the app developers for those of us that don’t have a Toronto Hydro account and therefore, cannot create an app account. I live in a condo building that uses an intermediate utilities provider. With the new upgrade I have discovered that I can’t create a now required account to log in because I do not technically have a Toronto Hydro account. How many condo customers have you shut out from using the app due to this short sightedness?

### 1/5 — Captcha is BRUTAL

*2023-08-21, version 1.1.1*

Fix captcha

### 1/5 — Cannot login to my account while abroad !!!

*2023-01-18, version 1.0*

I was not able to login to my account while abroad, The message displayed ‘due to security, cannot access from your location’; how I am suppose to pay my bill on time if I cannot see my bill while I am away from Canada?
BTW , same message on both: using the app or login via URL.
Please Hydro make it accessible !!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-09-11*

Useless. You need to enter your credentials every time you open the app. Aditionally, it isn’t really an app, it is just a copy of the web, so don’t bother in download it, you can use a bookmark instead.

### 1/5 — Minimal effort was made

*2022-05-26*

The outage map is completely blank, though the one on the website is covered with green snd yellow areas. The app makes you enter your name snd password manually every time you log in, instead of using Face ID. The app doesn’t let you see your daily/monthly usage. All of this is par for the course when it comes to Canadian utility apps, though.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not functioning properly

*2026-03-30*

The app doesn’t toggle between multiple accounts. Very frustrating when trying to access bills. Also, does not download bills so you can print them. Please fix

### 1/5 — Buggy Application

*2026-03-27*

The app is completely broken, it keeps asking for a login every single time I try to open a new page. Can’t download the receipt!!

### 1/5 — If it’s not broken, then don’t fix it

*2026-03-04*

The app worked just fine. I don’t know why they have to change everything now. Everything is unusable. I don’t get it if it’s not broken then don’t fix it.
What has this world come to? Why do I need to take 30 minutes? Just look at my water bill
When is the big rock gonna come and just hit us?

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-03-01*

App doesn’t display any of my account information. Keeps saying ‘This Feature Currently Unavailable.’

### 1/5 — Cannot view usage

*2026-02-23*

What’s the main purpose of an energy usage app? To view your usage. Cannot do that with Toronto Hydro’s own app. Telltale signs of contracting out app development.

### 1/5 — This is what I’d expect

*2026-02-08*

New Face ID update is terrible, app doesn’t even function anymore, I’m sure they got the ttc technicians working on the fix

### 1/5 — Trash

*2026-01-26*

Bunch of incompetent techies running an app that is so important for the city! This is why we need immigration!!!

### 1/5 — FaceID Update makes the app nonfunctional

*2026-01-22*

The app is unusable with the FaceID challenges. Every time I attempt to select a menu, change an account, etc. it requires a login and returns to the Home Screen.

### 1/5 — The new update doesn’t work

*2026-01-16*

Since I’ve updated the app, I can’t use it because it goes through an endless face ID for every click and send you back to square one!
Please fix this glitch.

### 1/5 — Keeps glitching

*2026-01-10*

Recently, that app has been glitching when using Face ID to login: it gets stuck in an endless loop of repeated login attempts, leading to getting locked out of your account.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — great

*2024-11-04, version 2.1.0*

great app

### 5/5 — easy 5 stars

*2024-08-21*

great app

### 3/5 — App is not functioning properly

*2026-02-25*

None of the links or pages seem to be loading or working. Works fine on the website, not nothing shows up on the app except for the main screen.

### 3/5 — Good enough

*2025-05-23, version 2.2.0*

Lately it seems that my account was wiped so I’m unable to log in nor register. I didn’t delete anything and simply wanted to monitor my usage as usual. It’s also a shame that the app has you log in over and over, it could just stay on it’s not classified information.

### 2/5 — Cannot open app

*2024-12-10, version 2.1.0*

Difficulty to open the app. Probably needs update, smooth and easy functioning. Tried to download the app because of the Canada Post walkout.

### 2/5 — It could be much better

*2023-10-12, version 1.1.1*

This is Toronto. One of the biggest tech hubs in the world! It's a shame that the app (and the website) is so essential.

Making it easier for the customer to pay within the app should be one of the priorities, set reminders, etc. Right now, it is just a basic form of the website.

Make it useful and take advantage of all the skilled people that are your customers!

### 2/5 — Toronto Hydro needs to keep up

*2022-09-27*

It’s like the website except … less. And the website already needs some serious attention from leadership at Toronto Hydro.

At minimum the app should provide access to the PowerLens application on the TH website to track your household’s past energy consumption. A+ if the app could share real time energy consumption taking advantage of the “smart” meters outside my front door. A+++ if the app supported integrations with things like IFTTT and third parties to automate energy decisions in response to, for example, real time time-of-use prices, emissions intensity of the grid, output from home solar panels, etc.

The 2020s will be a decade of mass electrification of everything from vehicles to heating. Toronto Hydro needs to keep up.

### 2/5 — A bit pointless

*2022-08-17*

App asks you to sign in to see your bill every time you open it. And it does not show useage data other than what is available through bills, which must be downloaded individually, just like on the website.

So, what is the point of the app? Not clear how this is better than just bookmarking or searching the Toronto Hydro website. No additional info or convenience is provided through use of this app.

### 2/5 — Where /how to check Usage

*2022-08-15*

The opening line says: Manage your billing, usage and services. Despite clicking at every Menu option, I couldn’t find how to check the only reason why I had downloaded this app - Usage.

### 2/5 — Missing most obvious feature

*2022-08-10, version 1.0*

How is it possible this app does not include a hydro usage report or dashboard?
