## What is Torva?

Build muscle on purpose — not by guessing.
Torva plans real mesocycles and runs the progression for you. Rate a set, and the app decides the next weight and rep target. It counts hard
sets per muscle group, adds volume week over week, and calls a deload before you stall.

  TRAINING THAT PROGRESSES ITSELF
  • 4–8 week mesocycles built around your goal and priority muscles
  • Weight and rep targets computed from your own RIR feedback
  • Per-muscle weekly volume, so you can see what is actually driving growth
  • Warm-up and working sets kept apart, myoreps and supersets supported
  • 301 exercises, joint-pain swaps, custom exercises

  NUTRITION WITHOUT THE SPREADSHEET
  • Calorie and macro diary with barcode scanning
  • Targets that match a lifter's needs, not a generic calculator
  • Save your regular meals and log them in one tap

  RECOVERY YOU CAN SEE
  • Sleep, resting heart rate and HRV pulled from Apple Health
  • A readiness read that says when to push and when to back off
  • Body weight smoothed into a trend, measurements and progress photos

BUILT FOR THE PHONE YOU TRAIN WITH
  • Live Activity and a home-screen widget for the session in progress
  • Apple Health sync in both directions
  • A feed, events and a community that trains the same way

  LEARN WHY, NOT JUST WHAT
A 24-chapter guide explains mesocycles, RIR, progressive overload, deloads, volume landmarks and set types — the reasoning behind every number the
  app shows you.

Free to use for the full training core: logging, progression, deloads, volume charts, nutrition, recovery and the guide. PRO removes the limits —
unlimited mesocycles, programs longer than four weeks, program sharing, HR zones and more.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.27.0 — 2026-09-30

• Voice messages in chats: every PRO user now has a mic button in direct, group and event chats
• Deep sleep and REM no longer lower your sleep score: the score is based on sleep duration, regularity and efficiency, and a note about a stage appears only when it stays at least 25% below your usual level for three days in a row
• Workouts imported from a watch show the workout time, rides also show moving time, and average speed is calculated from distance and time
• The Workouts home screen opens faster: everything for the first screen arrives in one request
• Messages, reactions and read receipts come through again on their own after you switch between Wi-Fi and cellular
• Fix: the workout card on the lock screen shows the current set right after you log one and no longer stays on the previous set

### 1.24.0 — 2026-09-28

• 109 new training templates: nine new emphasis options on one or two muscles join the filter (Chest, Back, Shoulders, Glutes, Glutes & Hamstrings, Quads & Glutes, Chest & Shoulders, Back & Shoulders, Glutes & Shoulders), and every template comes in a small, medium and large gym version
• The gym size switch on the Templates screen is always in view and remembers your choice, and your gym answer in onboarding sets it for you
• Mesocycle name suggestions continue your own naming: if you number your cycles, the next one gets the next number, and the suggestions also notice a milestone cycle, the season and the muscles in focus
• The home screen appears at once when you reopen the app: the Today widget, your streak and the next workout load straight from the device, and the event card no longer pushes the screen down
• The app recovers by itself after the network drops or switches between Wi-Fi and cellular, and the connection banner has a "Retry now" button
• Onboarding never waits on the network: after you allow notifications the next step opens right away, and the permission steps show a spinner while they wait
• Fixes: a watch workout split into laps shows its real distance even when the watch also saved a few tiny distance records, and a mesocycle list that fails to load offers "Load again" instead of asking you to create your first mesocycle

### 1.23.0 — 2026-09-26

• Milon step-up tips: when a weight has stalled and you log it again under a higher target, Milon offers the nearest weights at or above the target with predicted reps. You can turn the tips off in the workout menu
• The workout screen responds instantly: a set logged from the lock screen is checked the moment the app opens, the checkbox fills on tap, and the feedback dialog no longer lags
• A set logged from the lock screen reaches your log even if you never open the app
• Energy balance shows an early expenditure estimate from day one and explains when the accurate number arrives
• Notifications show the comment or message text, and a burst of chat messages is grouped into one quiet notification instead of ringing for each
• Voice messages play through a native player: recording starts right away even while a voice is playing, and voices stay cached on the device
• Pinch to zoom in the photo viewer, and drag to look around a zoomed photo
• In the feed, double tap to like works on the photo only, so taps elsewhere react instantly
• Tap a photo in the post editor to open it full screen
• Shared programs and workouts in chat can be replied to and reacted on like any other message
• Event moderation screens now fit the phone
• Fixes: machine base weight goes up to 100 kg, no loading flash after "Get started", and large health data syncs no longer slow the app down

### 1.21.0 — 2026-09-25

• Voice messages in chats: record a voice note in a direct, group or event chat and play it back right in the thread
• Send a mesocycle or a one-off workout from the chat attach menu, in direct messages as well as group and event chats
• Energy balance in Nutrition: a new card and page show what you eat against what you burn, with a period review and a one-tap recalculation of your targets
• A smarter mesocycle builder: starting volume comes from your weekly target for each muscle, week 1 set targets follow each day's session load, and you get a warning when the volume runs too high
• Volume autoregulation now reads your training log
• A new onboarding, plus redesigned sign-in, sign-up and password reset screens
• Photos: swipe up or down to close the viewer, and slide sideways between photos
• Chats: reactions sit inside the bubble next to the time, a reply quote shows the photo, and a reply to a deleted message says so
• Live Activity: bodyweight sets log from the lock screen, logging restarts the rest timer, and the tap vibrates
• The Today widget on Workouts shows tiles instead of rings and no longer opens with empty metrics
• Bottom sheets close with a swipe from anywhere on the sheet, not only from the top
• Fixes: a workout imported from a device is no longer counted twice, weekly event achievements reset on a new week, the tab bar comes back after closing an in-app browser, and swipe to reply no longer fights the back gesture

### 1.20.0 — 2026-09-20

• The mesocycle builder is rebuilt: every step is now its own page, so the native back swipe works across the whole flow, and the start screen leads with one clear action instead of six equal ones
• The feed refreshes itself: new posts arrive when you open it and when you return to the app, and if you are reading further down they wait in a pill with avatars instead of jumping the list under you
• Links to Torva open inside the app: a link in a chat, a comment or a post description now navigates in place instead of throwing you out to the browser
• The back swipe is caught from anywhere on the screen, the way it works in Telegram, so you no longer have to drag from the very edge, and vertical scrolling is left alone
• A workout logged without internet keeps its real duration. Before, every set arrived in one batch on reconnect, the time collapsed to zero and the post never reached the feed
• Smaller fixes: the weight field in bodyweight exercises follows a change to your body weight, and the heart rate zones card no longer overlaps itself next to a square photo
