### 3/5 — Unique app for those without motivation

*2024-07-30*

I love this app. It’s intended for those who truly don’t have motivation and can only muster up energy for one task a day. I like that aspect. Slow and steady wins the race right? By the end of the year I should have a nicely decluttered home with little daily effort. Not everyone is Marie Kondo and wants to create a Pinterest worthy home overnight. The only suggestion I have is to make it optional to do more than 1. Yes most days that’s all I can handle. But for the rare days that I am feeling extra ambitious I wish I could scroll my through the categories. And please don’t make it so that a task auto disappears after skipping it 3 times. It doesn’t always mean the task will always be irrelevant. It’s just not possible on the day. For example, there’s severe thunderstorms outside right now, so tossing items from my car is not an option today (no garage).
Update: I deleted all my progress and kept force closing. Had to reinstall. Lost all progress. Downgraded to 3 stars because of this.

### 4/5 — Unique app for those without motivation

*2024-06-23*

I love this app. It’s intended for those who truly don’t have motivation and can only muster up energy for one task a day. I like that aspect. Slow and steady wins the race right? By the end of the year I should have a nicely decluttered home with little daily effort. Not everyone is Marie Kondo and wants to create a Pinterest worthy home overnight. However, minus one star for the notifications not working. Everything in the app and iOS settings says this should be enabled and working, but I never get my daily notifications. So I added it to my Home Screen so I could at least remember to check it once a day.

### 4/5 — Great!

*2024-01-24, version 1.4*

I have just started using this app, but it’s pretty great. Though it would be even better if there were a option to select more Toss tasks per day. I’d like to take advantage of my hyperfocusing days that are decluttering related.
Thank you.

### 4/5 — A suggestion

*2024-01-14, version 1.4*

I love the app and its simplistic interface. My only suggestion would be to add an option to do more than one task a day. Some days I get on a roll and want to keep going but I like being able to add my items to the counter. Other than that, I love this app!

### 5/5 — Simple and so helpful

*2024-01-03, version 1.4*

I love getting my task of the day. This is helping me clear things out in a way that is not overwhelming at all!

### 5/5 — Organize your life

*2023-10-30, version 1.4*

This app is 👍 What to donate , and
garbage to throw out.It keeps me
motivated and focused what’s important
 in life.😊

### 3/5 — Good concept bad message

*2023-10-26, version 1.4*

It bothers me every time I see the word Toss without at least a suggestion to give or donate somewhere in the app.

### 5/5 — Good reminder

*2023-10-03, version 1.4*

I like getting reminders because my clutter will just get worse if I don’t keep on top of it.

### 4/5 — Has potential..

*2023-08-29, version 1.4*

But there is no way to customize the tasks to my house or add new tasks.. the tasks that come with the app really don’t work for me

### 5/5 — How do you eat an elephant?

*2023-08-07*

Like many, I get paralyzed when I think of trying to declutter and organize my house. I have gotten more done in a week of having this so than I have in months of procrastinating.

The app gives you one manageable assignment per day. One example: toss or give away any coats you haven’t worn in 4 years. If you don’t like the task you can skip it and it will give you up to 2 other options.

For anyone who hasn’t heard the “how do you eat an elephant” question, the answer is “one bite at a time.” This is a perfect one bite at a time all.

### 4/5 — Motivating but could use an update

*2023-05-28*

I love this app and it has helped my to declutter my apartment!

I wish the app did two things:
1) If I skip a task it will give me a different one the next day
2) When I complete a task I would like to see a new one, or have the option to set an amount of new tasks. Instant gratification works and I like keeping up the momentum!

### 4/5 — Helpful

*2023-04-19, version 1.4*

Love it but I wish I could complete more than one task per day. I hate having to wait to see what the next one is.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2023-04-16, version 1.4*

I'm really enjoying this app. The slower pace might not be for everyone, but I find it far more useful to just do a little bit each day than to have multiple tasks.

### 4/5 — Toss is limited

*2023-03-30, version 1.4*

Toss is a great start, but it is limited to about 10 tasks. They need to expand their tasks.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2023-02-24*

When I get stuck it's nice to have one simple task to only focus on, I can't look at tomorrows, I can't redo. It forces me to keep it Simple. I would love there to be more things to use it with lol looking at past things or idk more things to do. But I think I would stop using the app because it would become overwhelming. That's why I use an app for a month and delete and never use it again. This app has stayed so long on my phone with decent continuous useage because I only do one thing on it and I can forget about it and come back and do one simple thing I really like it when your overwhelmed and sad and stressed

### 5/5 — It's ok I guess

*2023-01-21, version 1.4*

Let people do more tasks a day if they want. (pro tip change the date in your phone so the app thinks it's the next day) not super practical but it's better than waiting sometimes

### 3/5 — Stop the daily limit.

*2023-01-18, version 1.4*

Love this but hate that I can’t do more than one chore a day when I’m on a roll.

### 5/5 — Physical clutter reduces mental clutter

*2022-12-30, version 1.4*

This app has changed my life. Minimalism all the way!!!!

### 4/5 — Amazingly simple & effective app!

*2022-12-13*

Toss is a wonderful app for procrastinators and sentimental packrats! It cuts through the excuse of “no time” because the tasks are quick and easy. It helps prevent being overwhelmed by suggesting places to start. And rewards the effort by tracking the tossed items across the various categories so that we see the results of even 10-15 minutes a day. When done consistently over time it makes a big impact and creates good habits. I wound up sorting through things I’d never have thought of like old perfumes. It becomes like a reverse treasure hunt—seeking out what can be tossed or donated. My two suggestions would be to perhaps create a separate page that lists the Decluttering tips for reference and maybe some award banners for hitting milestones like 50, 100, 200 items tossed to keep up motivation. Overall great app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Okay but…

*2022-06-03, version 1.4*

So many of the tasks I saw didn’t really relate to me, or were so small they felt like nothing. I would have kept if there had been an option to allow completing more than one random task a day, and more than 3 skips.

### 1/5 — Very limiting

*2022-01-17, version 1.4*

I don't like that it just gives you one task per day. I wish that if you finish that one you could keep clicking through a list with more to do.

### 1/5 — Daily

*2021-10-29, version 1.4*

I wish you could do more than 1 task a day

### 1/5 — English time

*2020-01-31, version 1.4*

To be honest, I’m finding it a little frustrating as I wake up this morning to find the same item as yesterday, which I’ve already tossed 6 of. And I think only one a day is far too slow for me. I love the ideas but a list of 5 a day would feel like I’m getting something done! And my day starts at midnight, not in the middle of the afternoon!

### 1/5 — Tossed Toss!

*2019-10-05, version 1.4*

The app would only display in the Settings listing when the Notifications option was turned on, and it would not display on any of the home screens. That won’t fit workflows where similar items are grouped together in folders. Subsequently, because the app wouldn’t display on the screen, it must be deleted from the Settings app: General > iPhone Storage > Locate the app > Tap the app, and then tap Delete App.

### 2/5 — Why only one task per day?

*2022-11-20, version 1.4*

Why only one task per day? Let me decide how quickly I want to do thinks. Also more helpful tips would be nice. There’s room for improvement here.

### 2/5 — Not without merit, but fails in accessibility

*2022-10-24*

Toss has merit and can remind you about areas that slip your mind. It’s also been incredibly inaccessible and frustrating as someone with intense chronic fatigue, who could really use bite-sized tasks. Some tasks are far larger than others, e.g. declutter the entire sideboard vs. declutter the car glovebox, and I had to reset the app six times before it gave me a task I could do with my current energy level. Why? A hard daily limit on skipping suggestions. It kept suggesting very large tasks that I didn’t have the energy for, or ones I didn’t currently need to do but didn’t want to delete. Only being allowed to skip three suggestions quickly turns into days with nothing getting done, unless you want to reset your progress. An accessibility option to turn on unlimited skips would be helpful for the disabled, chronically ill, and neurodivergent, but seems unlikely.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2022-01-20*

I really wanted to love this app. But when you are on a decluttering roll and have lots to do it is not very useful. Keeps giving me the same tasks that I skipped two days ago - mostly for my car. The only decent one I’ve had so far is my freezer which is very small so there’s no hidden food. And you can only skip 3 a day and complete one per day? I had to skip 2 for my car (it’s -9 degrees out and I have no garage). C’mon developers. Give us options to move forward and do more work if we choose! What a deterrent to progress. I’m a list checker and want to track more accomplishments!

### 2/5 — nice idea but lacking in many ways

*2022-01-03, version 1.4*

It’s a nice concept but limiting in that you cannot skip more than 3 categories per day. There also really needs to be a way to enter your own categories rather than fit into the predetermined ones. If I threw away 5 things today but they don’t happen to fit the areas mentioned that day, they won’t ‘count’. Nice idea for inspiration but lacking otherwise.

### 2/5 — Not working now

*2021-10-28, version 1.4*

Started brilliantly, but now when it just clears screen back to Home Screen so I can’t get in.

### 5/5 — Love

*2025-03-11, version 1.4*

I love this app. It keeps me focused

### 5/5 — Finally some results!

*2025-01-28, version 1.4*

So far this app is exactly what I needed to get my decluttering ball rolling! I love that it’s a simple task only one a day and I have choice with boundaries.
This was well designed and very simple to use. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Love!!

*2025-01-03, version 1.4*

I’m obsessed with this app. Makes decluttering manageable with one small task per day.

### 5/5 — Unique app for those without motivation

*2024-07-01*

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-06-26, version 1.4*

I have started my Minimalism Journey and it has been overwhelming. I love Toss because it gives me one goal everyday so it is very manageable and at the end of the day I feel like I’ve got something accomplished.

### 5/5 — The perfect motivator!

*2024-04-14, version 1.4*

I love this app and the progress I’m making with it. It’s simple and straightforward and I look forward to accomplishing something with it every day. I have the option of skipping or deleting a task, which is good enough for me. I like the simplicity of it. And it’s free.

### 5/5 — Love this App

*2024-04-08, version 1.4*

I look forward each day to what it is I need to declutter. It no longer feels like a chore. If there was one adjustment I wish sometimes you could forward to the next task rather than wait till the next day.

### 5/5 — Inspired

*2024-02-29, version 1.4*

Having a daily goal is really cool. I am motivated and when I complete the daily task I feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment. Just needed the push.

### 5/5 — I have never loved an app this much!!

*2024-01-26, version 1.4*

I absolutely love this app. I rarely use anything but free apps but with this one I was actually looking to see if there was a way to donate. I love that there is one simple task each day. Yes, I often want to do more and am slightly frustrated for a few minutes that I can’t get another task till tomorrow but this is what keeps me addicted and eager for the next day’s task. I think 1 a day is actually perfect! The wording is so motivational and the areas to clear out are very clever. I can’t rave about it enough! I am so addicted! Thank you for creating this app. It is step by step changing my world.

### 5/5 — Uncluttering one day at a time

*2024-01-14*

I love this app! It gives one task to complete and doesn’t move on until it’s completed. I only wish you could get another task immediately upon finishing a task because sometimes you get on a roll😂. But overall, this is a great app that motivates me to declutter!
