### 2/5 — Gone backwards

*2018-06-01*

Used to be a great interactive mag but the last 3 months they have just gone back to being a basic PDF style mag which is not what I am expecting. Poor show and not as good as the interactive digital version that Empire magazine produce.

### 2/5 — Bookmarks not working

*2016-11-08, version 4.9.4*

By the way while I'm bothering with a review, the content is still great, but I do miss the interactive version of the magazine, and I do not care for the way the change was handled.

### 4/5 — A great magazine

*2014-11-25*

This is a must-read for all movie fans.
I read Total Film regularly to keep up to date and amused by the writers' work.
They've missed a perfect score by one star... only because you can't zoom the text and some of the narrow text columns are "fiddly" to read for us with less than perfect eyesight.
Otherwise perfect.

### 1/5 — no free trial, garbage and scam

*2014-10-25, version 3.8.1*

Do not waste time on this app, developer lure users by free trial which does not exist. But since you downloaded it you paid it, because developer uses number of downloads app in its profit, and you can not delete this app from your downloads.

### 4/5 — Great

*2014-05-09, version 3.7.2*

Nice app and great reading!!

### 1/5 — Appalling Service

*2014-04-29*

Issues haven't downloaded in weeks. Going to ask for a refund. AVOID.

### 2/5 — Commercials and Spiderman.

*2014-02-04, version 3.6.5*

Open newest issue yesterday to read and was hit with a commercial. I paid to subscribe and I have to watch a stupid commercial? No thanks. And 3 of the last 6 or 7 issues have has Spiderman on the cover. Slow news year? I have cancelled my auto-renew.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2014-01-30, version 3.6*

I bought this a year ago and when my renewal email came last week this was the easiest subscription to let expire. Out of the whole year I had this I was only able to download 3 issues. Every time I would download the latest issues it would quit halfway over "connection issues” and I can download a whole episode of an hour long tv show in 10min but it takes a dozen tries over a few days to download a magazine issue?

The Magazine is pretty cool but I’d get the print version. This Digital one is a complete waste

### 1/5 — the Waterworld of digital magazines

*2013-12-26*

Clunky, slow to download, unresponsive, no support, rubbish!~

### 2/5 — Great content, horrible app.

*2013-12-07, version 3.4.4*

Total film is great, period. Yet the app is poorly designed and buggy (some issues may be Apple's fault). Downloads take ages and are unreliable, the app crashes regularly. For some reason they insist on a style where the text is in a tiny box at the bottom with a huge picture above. Instead of scrolling across the whole screen the text remains limited which is very frustrating.

### 1/5 — Magazine Discontinued

*2024-10-11*

Sorry to hear the magazine has ended. Given that I only took out an iTunes subscription 3 months ago can I have a refund?

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. Please contact apps@futurenet.com, and our support team will be able to provide further assistance on this matter.

Kind regards,
The Digital Support Team

### 1/5 — Really terrible in recent months

*2021-06-13*

The server keeps failing so you lose all the issues you have paid for. I have been a subscriber for several years but am now cancelling given these persistent problems. Same problem with the SFX app.

Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Poor and rip off

*2020-06-03*

Purchased a magazine and although it charged me $11.99, it wouldn’t download saying there was an error. I contacted Apple and they said to contact the publisher. I sent 3 emails with no reply and 3 tweets with no reply. Be VERY wary of purchasing with this publisher.

### 1/5 — Subscription not restoring

*2017-10-03*

My iTunes subscription does not restore after updating the app. Have tried restoring several times and nothing. I have contacted them and had no response in how to rectify this, not happy! Have now been unable to download October and November issues, which I’ve paid for!!

### 1/5 — Repeated downloading

*2016-12-08, version 4.9.4*

A great disappointment. I hardly do reviews. This one is necessary. Pain point is that i continually need to download the issues that were downloaded a million times before into my library. Every time I check my library, it is always empty. I should have read the reviews. Great content but the app is, to say the least, well below average and needs major improvements.

### 1/5 — Total Garbage more like it

*2016-05-29, version 4.8*

App won't open. Immediately crashes. I can see the last article after double clicking home button but once app is selected it crashes.

### 1/5 — Font size is too small now

*2015-11-21, version 4.4*

Not sure when this update occurred but the font of the magazine text is way too small now. You have to zoom in to read it comfortably whereas before it was unnecessary.

### 1/5 — Garbage app

*2015-09-11, version 4.2.1*

Magazine might be great but I wouldn't know because I refuse to pay twice for one issue to get it to download. If the devs spent half as much energy on making a functional app as they did on promotions, nag screens and assaulting the user with pop ups and interstitial junk, they might have created something worth using. I have never encountered greater friction in on-boarding. Idiocy. Don't give these people your money.

Thanks for constantly harassing me to review your app. It's the one prompt I heeded.

### 1/5 — Most unreliable app ever!

*2015-03-22*

Love the magazine. Have for years. But this app, of many e-mags I subscribe to, is simply the most frustratingly unreliable apps I have the misfortune of using. If you want a digital film mag, get Total Film in print, if you want to read it digitally try elsewhere since actually being able to read the magazine isn't something this app allows...well not in one relaxing trouble-free sitting...you'll read half an article then crash it's frozen, reset...try to reload and same again. Time to delete the app, reinstall then sit for half hour while you have to re-download all your issues again. Then maybe just maybe you can read the other half...or maybe not. Total Crap...more apt title for this app.

### 1/5 — All Future subs inaccessible

*2014-11-15, version 3.8.1*

My Prog, Total Film and SFX subscriptions have disappeared since the last iOS update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — What is there not to like?

*2017-07-28*

Total Film...you rock. Please keep doing that thing that you do.

Nuff said.👍

### 5/5 — My first digital subscription

*2015-09-29*

I signed up for this a couple of years ago for going on holiday, with
The intention of cancelling after a couple of months. However it's actually a really cool app, and half
The price of the magazine. The only issue I had was that issues were about 500mb - they've now sorted these so that they less than 100mb which means I'm now using it my phone as well as iPad as I have the space!

### 5/5 — Delight to use and read

*2014-10-03*

This app loads and reads extremely reliably. Also it is very innovative in its design and layout. A lot of work must go into all of the facts, reviews, analysis and humour packed into each week. I like the way each page is cleverly designed with hidden pop ups, pull outs, drop downs etc. with further information on the article and subject.

### 5/5 — Great information

*2014-08-05, version 3.8.1*

This magazine has all you would want/need to know about any and all films in/coming out to theaters.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2014-08-03, version 3.8.1*

It is great to have an amazing magazine like this in a portable digital format

### 5/5 — Wonderful weekends

*2014-06-17, version 3.7.2*

Not easy to find on newsstands in US it was always a treat to find a copy. I could be sure of several hours reading pleasure to reward my successful treasure hunt. No longer a chore to find, the digital version is even better than the elusive hard copy. And instead of several hours pleasure I have a weekend of enjoyment. And if that's not enough I haven't killed a tree or accumulated dusty stacks of old newsprint.

### 5/5 — Great for movie lovers!

*2014-05-21, version 3.7.2*

I used to read EW but they updated their app and it won't let you read the mag and when I called to tell them, they had no solution. BUT, in the process, discovered Total Film, waaaay better than EW!

### 5/5 — Movies!!!

*2014-05-09, version 3.7.2*

Love this mag! It has everything I want to know!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2014-04-22, version 3.6.5*

I this digital download is fabulous however like the last writer to many ad's, I know the bills has to payed. I started downloading magazines because your paying $5 to $6 for a magazine full of ad's, haven't that said Total Films is a one of kind magazine. Love the articles & interviews along a few sneak peaks. Thank you & keep up the great work

### 5/5 — Movie Buffs Delight

*2013-12-21*

A great app with interesting ways to navigate through the pages just to keep you on the edge. The addition of movie trailers is brilliant.
