Custom colors are no longer added to the "in this mind map" section, and do not "stick" within the mind map itself--the colors revert to standard shades or something else, which is not at all helpful when the color is used for something meaningful in the visualization. Please fix this so that it functions the way that it did in the previous version!! I'm also having difficulty moving the bubbles around on my newly-created mind maps, so I'm wondering if there may be a bug there also... ### 3/5 — Crashes *2015-04-13, version 4.8* Will never stop crashing ### 3/5 — Good, but limited *2015-03-10, version 4.6* My high school students found this very easy to use and quick to learn. It did however randomly dump/delete from some students iPads, with all data lost. Since their classmates had maps of the same size and similar configuration, there didn't seem to be a way around that pitfall. I just had students email a PDF to themselves each day, in case they had to redo it. ### 3/5 — 5 for Usefulness, 1for frequent crashes *2014-06-04, version 4.2* The app thinks like I do. Helps me organize any project. Easy to use. But it crashes a lot and the resave point is nowhere near where I was when the app crashed. I just want to make a suggestion of adding a notes part to the app on the next update. Very well designed software for mind mapping on the go! ### 3/5 — Nice, but tricky *2013-07-23, version 3.6* This is the first mind map app I've tried and it's helping me to organize thoughts and facts on a big project (article). It's basicallY good. But I'm losing some time because the "undo" feature isn't allowing me to click on my last action from the pop-up list - which means unless there's some trick I'm missing, "undo" doesn't work. Also, I'm unclear what the single-bubble option does on the formatting menus (the multiple-bubble option pulls up the color and bubble shape choices). The "getting started" tutorials are pretty basic, and don't cover these functions. They also refer to a website where help is available, but they don't link to it - and Google doesn't reveal it. So ... more complete tutorials would be great, or links to the website with the answers? ### 3/5 — Worth It Despite Bugs *2013-04-06, version 3.4* This is the best mind-mapping app I have yet to see for the Ipad. No other app I have tried can auto-adjust the layout and is as easy to manipulate. NOTE: This app needs to be opened and closed frequently to force it to save your work. When you add substantial data, using the PLAY option can cause it to crash. Duplicating your map before doing so can help prevent loss of data. Looking forward to the bugs to be worked out. In the meantime, be careful, save often (see above), and use PLAY sparingly and you will be fine. ### 5/5 — My favorite app *2013-02-08, version 3.4* Simple to use. I love it! When I first started using, I had trouble with crashing, but learned that closing app and reopening frequently prevents loss of data. Also, you need to go to website to learn how to manually arrange bubbles. A very useful tool! ### 5/5 — Refreshing App *2012-11-29, version 3.4* Does what it says intuitively and with ease. Like the ability to make a mind map fast and export or send via email in variety of formats. Auto expand and auto positioning is really cool. Would be nice if the white space between bubbles could be configured to automatically be more compact rather than so spread out, but that is getting fairly picky as you can always space the bubbles manually and not use the auto positioning. Cloud save (eg Google Drive) would also be nice. All around though, this is a great find and I recommend. Nice job developers, very refreshing and appears bug free! ### 4/5 — Great for most simple idea maps. *2012-09-24, version 3.3* Worth a download if you want to make a much simpler chart to show your thoughts. A suggestion would be to have different kinds of mind maps like flow charts or an auto-adjusting circle map (increase in size and difference in shape to conform to text/bullet points). ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The worst *2017-07-03, version 4.8* I've used a lot of mind maps on several platforms. This one may be the worst. I saw some review that said you may lose your work... I couldn't get far enough for that to be a problem. Even after following the in app instructions AND the help on their website (which don't quite agree with one another) I was not able to even add a single node to my main topic. Horrible design (I am a software product designer and developer). ### 1/5 — You will lose your work! *2015-11-08, version 4.8* I just lost about 2.5 hours of work by accidentally pressing the undo button. I guess you shouldn't ever press the u do button, because there is no way to get your work back. ### 1/5 — What a JOKE! Doesn't Work Properly Waste of Time *2015-03-17, version 4.6* SAVE YOUR TIME & MONEY! My review will sum this up quickly, this app is a joke! What started out as a promising mind mapper quickly turned into a ridiculous waste of time. First, there's NO HELP, when U click on the help selection nothing happens, I tried several times. Second, there's no In-App Purchase option yet on the main screen it clearly states there's an In-App purchase to unlock. Third, there's a selection to "Save or Send..." (Exactly how it looks & reads) which U click on that & NOTHING HAPPENS! I've tried this on an IPad 3 and IPhone 6+ w/latest IOS and same issues so DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I only wish someone would've left a review like mine so I could've save some time! ### 1/5 — Difficult to work with *2015-02-22, version 4.4* While some things are easy and intuitive, I am losing far too much time struggling to get these maps as I need them to be. Jumping back and forth from the company's website for help is no fun by any stretch of the imagination. Unfortunately, this awful app stops working as soon as you try to create a new map or rename an old one. It's pretty much useless. ### 1/5 — Not workable on the iPhone *2013-09-03, version 3.8* The type of detailed work required in a mind mapping app is just not workable in the small screen of an iPhone. And while the Total Recall app is simple enough, it may be "too" simple (ie, not enough functionality?!). Maybe this is better on the iPad? But for me, back to paper and pencil. Deleted this app. ### 1/5 — maladaptive, clunky *2013-02-26, version 3.4* A limited counter-intuitive program. It is fun if you don't need to actually "do" anything, but there are better mind mapping options out there with a gentler learning curve. Avoid, or better yet developers, add a few more tools to link and move existing bubbles. So much potential, so little usability. ### 1/5 — Frustrating-don't get it *2012-12-02, version 3.4* I spent like 3 hours making a huge and intricate map and then I accidentally pressed the play button and it ruined my entire project. It completely destroyed all of my formatting and the worst part was, there's no way to undo it. I had to start all over and it took forever. Very intuitive, easy to use, and quite versatile! I love that I can send my finished mind map in a variety of formats, including PDF or image format! My only request would be to make it easier for everything to automatically stay in alignment. Keep up the great work! ### 5/5 — Great functionality, incredibly useful *2015-06-18, version 4.8* Downloaders should know you only get three free maps, but that's okay. This is a really useful, well-made, easy to navigate, intuitive and creative app. The controls are very simple but that is okay because the functionality is really what matters. I use this to track a number of projects and prefer this style of app to calendars and other daily planners that require too much effort to log information and future events. I use the connecting bubble lines to log things I have already done and leave future projects, wants, desires, and to-dos left unattached as reminders. The possible used for the idea maps are endless. ### 5/5 — Perfect *2015-04-04, version 4.8* I use this to manage inventory, location and project on our nursery staging ground. We are a large scale commercial landscaping company with hundreds of trees, shrubs and perennials that need to be accounted for and prepped for every day's planting jobs. This helps keep everything organized and easily findable. I have my mind map in the general shape of our nursing ground where the bubbles represent numbers and species as well as which job it's for, and how many of the specific species there are and where they can be found. Overall, this app feels the most fluid, intuitive and flexible. It's also one of the more simple apps, and easy to use. So, thanks! The logo is weak and uninteresting, so I'd consider updating that. I would like to be able to edit the title of mind maps. Having a space to insert a legend for the different shapes and colors could be useful. Because otherwise I'm adding bubbles to the upper left of the map and each time the auto layout is used the legend bubbles in the corner of my map start floating around ### 5/5 — Absolutely spectacular! *2014-10-16, version 4.4* This is exactly what I have been looking for for a very long time.
