With this player, I can do anything I care about doing, with simplicity and ease (one handed). Accurate and fluid frame by frame both forward and reverse. On the fly frame extraction to camera roll and other social media, at full resolution. It's everything all the players should have been from the git go. Don't miss this one. Seriously! I almost wish I could get in touch with the author and promote this product on my website. It's just beautiful. Nuff said! ### 5/5 — Default to Reset *2014-12-11, version 2.1.1* My only beef with this app is every now and then the video thumbnail will turn to a blank gray screen and you and you have to click the "Default to Reset" function to restore the video thumbnail to what it was before. Long story short wish there was a function to "Default to Reset" all thumbnail videos and not just doing each video one at a time, especially if you have a lot of videos and you have to reset each one one at a time, it will becoming all time consuming. That's my only beef w/this app, other then that it's my No.1 app love it much. ### 5/5 — BEST app for slow mo video playback & analysis! *2014-10-21, version 2.1* Frame by frame scrubbing with tuning in the fly, NO HUD on the screen very important for small iPhone screen, many settings for customization, very intuitive & ergonomic controls. Awesome unique app! ### 5/5 — Fantastic app! *2014-08-23, version 2.0.1* Great job on this app! This app has many impressive features and options. You can zoom, slow down, speed up, make playlists, set markers, note favorites, etc. You can set it up to behave as you wish (e.g. loop, play next, stop, specify each time, start playing where left off or at beginning, play sound in background, etc.). You can choose a background color too, which is nice. Unlike some other apps, it accesses videos in both the camera roll and in the videos app. Works with AirPlay too. Can be a little confusing sometimes, but it's only because there are so many great features. The more you use it, the more you appreciate it. I would ask for two things to make it perfect. First, add brightness control to better view darker videos. Second, add option to lock in landscape mode regardless of the direction of the device. Please add these two features to make it totally perfect. This is already a great app and it is WELL worth the price. It works as described! The videos that I uploaded to my iPad in the videos app were automatically picked up by the app and I even was a le to download a .MP4 with my browser app (Dolphin HD) and open it with this app. Very happy! ### 5/5 — Works fine *2012-03-02, version 1.0* Does exactly what is says. Very useful for learning things by video. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App itself is great but doesn’t pick up my videos in camera roll *2018-09-23, version 2.7.6* The app has great features, I love the flexibility and control, especially the slow motion and frame by frame. However, the app does a horrible job of “seeing” videos in my camera roll. Only picks up 2 or 3 of many and sometimes after I play one of the ones that show up it disappears the next time I open the app. Very frustrating. **Developer response:** Thank you for using "Touch The Video" . We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Are you using "iCloud Photos"? Even if iCloud photo does not have original file, thumbnail is displayed on camera roll, but T.T.Video is specification which can not detect without original file. To download the original file please do as follows. 1.In the list of photo applications, select "Select" mode and select the file you want to download. 2.Select "Save to files" from the export button in the lower left. 3.The message "Preparing ..." is displayed. You will wait until it is over. 4.When you are finished you can ask for a storage location, but "Cancel" here. But gets the job done *2015-11-12, version 2.4* Sometimes I need a variable speed video player for lectures or similar presentations. Surprisingly, there's not a lot of apps that support this. So when my favorite player app stopped working after updating to iOS 9, I had to hunt for a replacement. This was the best of the lot. If you can get past the muddled user interface, limited import options and poorly written help screens, you'll find a competent player that'll do in a pinch. ### 2/5 — Buggy *2012-03-18, version 1.1* This video player is at least the best as in features I have seen / used yet. I just got the New iPad 64GB 4G lite version. I want a video player that will play all my Canon 60D DSLR videos. I do love that I can use my finger to scrub through the video one frame at a time easily forwards or backwards which is something I really need in an iPad video editor showing of videos for my video business. Bugs: when I am scrubbing through the video by moving the slider to advance the video the app crashes. I can only access videos in the recently added folder. I want to access all videos on my iPad. This is a must have feature for any video player. I can't use this player if this is not updated or recommend this app. And I do recommend good apps to a lot of friends. Next, I would like more control over different slow-mo options. Right now you can only select full speed or half speed. I would like to be able to tap on a button and every time I tap on the button it will advance the slow-mo speed by a certain interval. Also a button the works in reverse. Taping on the button will slow down slow-mo by a set interval. If these thing are corrected/ updated then I will give this app 5 stars. Also the video scrubbing need to be tweaked slightly to play a little smother so trying to scrub one frame at a time is a little bit smoother. To the developer: try out Avid Studio to see how smooth the video plays even DSLR native video plays. Even try streaming to the new ATV3 by way of screen mirroring DSLR video. This works really smooth and no lag time in Avid this is how all video played and video editors should work. ### 3/5 — DRM free? *2012-03-28, version 1.1* All of my sport videos that I downloaded from iTunes are DRM protected therefore this app is useless for me. The app itself works just fine though. ### 4/5 — Great Video Player. Missing One Feature to make it a Five Star Rating *2016-08-30, version 2.5.2* This video player has a lot of good features that I was looking for to play videos of sports plays and situations for training/educating officials. What would make this a five is ability to draw circles or arrows on the screen to highlight certain situations during play back. I have not been able to find a video player for iPad that could do that. Even VLC does not come close. ### 5/5 — AWESOME tool for learning *2019-11-08, version 2.7.6* This app is unbelievably great for learning by watching. - TONS of playback controls, most with gesture control including customization!! (speed of slow play, how far to rewind) - Zoom AND pan. So useful for focus e.g. a guitarist’s fretting hand - In-app product tour. I’ve never seen such an easy and comprehensive help function. You are introduced to each element in a self-paced manner and can interact with it while viewing help. So useful given how powerful this app is! I am truly amazed at how thoughtfully developed this app is. Shows a lot of customer empathy. However it seems stopped working these days. For some reason it can’t import videos from my photo album. Reinstalled didn’t help. Good thing that when I was looking for it I found this one that does so many things that it makes me write this Review, I’m so thankful to find an app like this.
