Very terrible app. Useless!

I understand the sentiment behind this app for dating in the diaspora but it is lacking in that there are not a lot of users hence no matches. Even with not putting any filters such as age, dating intentions etc, it kept saying no matches. The fact that you even have to pay a subscription to view “full” matches made no difference.
It was a waste of my subscription.

At first the app was good but now everything you have to subscribe and purchase to even connect or see your matches. Regular dating apps they atleast have a free version. This app to do anything you have to pay for it.

**Developer response:** Tova is intentionally built as a premium, members-only dating app. You can browse profiles, discover people, and apply filters for free. Messaging and interactions are available only after subscribing, and this is clearly stated during onboarding.

Unlike swipe-based apps with large free tiers, Tova is designed for intentional connections, fewer but higher-quality matches, and a curated community. The subscription helps maintain that standard and reduces spam, fake profiles, and low-effort interactions.

If you’re looking for a fully free dating app, Tova may not be the right fit (and that’s okay).
We appreciate you giving it a try.

There are a lot of dating apps out there but this is the most intentional one I have come across. As Africans in Diaspora, it can be hard connecting with others like us in all the noise out there.

This one focuses on that idea and it does so efficiently. Definitely recommending!!!!

For Africans in the diaspora looking for something real Tova has been such a good space. You don’t have to over explain your background or why certain things matter. The people there just gets it. It feels comfortable and honestly it’s worth trying. I highly recommend!

The interface is very user friendly too!!
