## What is TOVA?

Most trackers are silent spreadsheets. TOVA is a conversation.

Tell Tova what you ate, in your own words. "Two scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and half a tomato from the garden." Logged, with calories and macros, in one message. Speak it or type it. Hold the Action Button, or say "Log with TOVA" to Siri, and you land in the chat with the mic on. Show her a photo of your plate or a nutrition label, or share one to TOVA straight from Photos, Messages, or Safari. Scan a barcode. However it comes out of your day, it goes in your diary.

Only ate half? Say so and she fixes it. "That yogurt is 90 calories, not 105." She changes the entry already in your log, remembers the correction, and next time the same bowl gets the same number. Every estimate shows its work, in one line: a tall with 2 percent milk, a cup cooked with a tablespoon of oil. Wrong? Just tell her.

Your first 10 messages to Tova are free, no account needed. Open the app, say hi, and tell her what you had.

Tova remembers you. Your recipes, your allergies, the yogurt you actually buy, the label you showed her yesterday. Tell her once and she carries it forward. Eat the same breakfast most mornings? After a few days she offers to save it as your usual, and from then on "my usual" logs it in one word.

She plans meals too. Ask for tonight's dinner, a whole day, or a week of dinners with a grocery list, built around what you already eat and what is in your fridge.

Ask "am I over on sodium?" and she reads the answer from your real totals, computed by the app, never guessed. Ask for your week or your month and she covers all of it: calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, added sugar, sodium. And each new week opens with a short note from her about the last one: one true thing from your numbers, one idea for the week ahead, no grades.

The tracker is free, with no time limit:

Barcode scanning for foods and cosmetics, with ingredient level scores and additives explained in plain English. No official score? You get an honest estimate from the label, marked as one
A Today screen with calories remaining, protein, carbs, fat, and the micros you choose to track
Exercise logged by hand, by telling Tova, or automatically from Apple Health, and never added back to your calorie goal, because your goal is already built from your real burn
Trends that follow the real calendar: weekly and monthly averages, your weight curve colored by direction, and your real measured burn from your own data
Apple Health, both ways: weigh ins, steps, and workouts come in, and if you turn it on, the food you log goes into Health as named entries that follow your edits
Dark mode and a warm Night look, following your phone or your choice
Your data is yours: export every food you have logged as a spreadsheet, or everything as one file, any time
Custom foods and recipes, favorites, your usuals, and one tap relogging
Working with a coach who uses TOVA? Share your nutrition on your terms, with your own code or theirs, and a Stop sharing button that always works. When your coach sets a target for the week, your app measures against it and says so

Talking to Tova (chat, photos, meal plans) is free for your first 10 messages, then free for two weeks, then $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year. Cancel any time in Settings and nothing vanishes: your log stays and the tracker keeps working. Nothing that is free today will move behind the subscription.

Honest by design. Food data comes from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts. Estimates are labeled as estimates and show how they were made. No ads, ever. No selling your data. No third party trackers. Delete everything, any time, in the app.

Tova provides general wellness information, not medical advice.

### 5/5 — Am loving this app!

*2026-10-14*

I have never been consistent with tracking my food because it felt like a job. TOVA makes it easy and has caused me to be completely intentional with what I eat.

**Developer response:** Thank you, Copper! "It felt like a job" is exactly the feeling TOVA was built to get rid of, and "completely intentional" is the best thing it could lead to, because that part is all you. The update that just came out makes it even lighter: only ate half? Say so and Tova fixes it. If anything gets in your way, help@tova.coach comes straight to me. Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — A Fresh Take on Food Tracking

*2026-10-11*

TOVA looks like a great new take on food tracking. I really like the clean design and the ability to log meals just by describing what you ate. Having everything in one place, from calories and macros to water intake, makes it feel simple and easy to use. I’m looking forward to seeing how well the AI features work as I spend more time with it. Definitely a promising app!!

**Developer response:** SabenKane: Thank you! “Describing what you ate” is the whole idea, and the water, calories and macros being in one place is on purpose, so I’m glad it reads that way. When you spend more time with Tova, tell her when a number looks off. She fixes it, and that’s the part people end up liking most. Anything in your way, email help@tova.coach and it comes to me. Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — Completely satisfied

*2026-10-11*

Quick and easy set up, seamless operation. Very intuitive and easy to use. Makes tracking calories fun and simple.

**Developer response:** Thank you. “Fun and simple” is exactly the bar I set for it, so this made my morning. If anything ever gets in the way, help@tova.coach comes straight to me. Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — Easy a talk, submit & log

*2026-10-10*

I’ve used two other Trackers for my Macros. I always get frustrated because it can’t find what I’m typing in. TOVA is SO user friendly, it’s like talking to a friend who happens to logo your food & convert it into macros.
I was able to talk to it to update my macros instead of going into settings & figuring it out.
I’ve never had consistent data to share with my Provider-EVER!

**Developer response:** Thank you, Hannah! "It's like talking to a friend" is exactly what we hoped TOVA would feel like, and we love that you changed your macros just by asking instead of digging through settings. Consistent data you can actually bring to your provider is a big deal, and it's why every number stays editable and your whole diary is there to look back on. If anything ever gets in your way, email help@tova.coach and it comes straight to me.
Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — So much easier than traditional calorie tracking

*2026-09-14*

I’ve tried food tracking apps before and usually stop using them because logging every ingredient and searching for foods becomes tedious. TOVA makes it so simple! You just tell it what you ate in normal language and it does the tracking for you. I love being able to see calories and protein without spending a bunch of time entering everything manually. Clean, intuitive, and genuinely useful. Excited to see where this app goes!

**Developer response:** Thank you, Zoë! "You just tell it what you ate in normal language" is the whole idea in one sentence, and "usually stop using them" is the exact problem she exists to fix. Plenty more coming. Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed!

*2026-09-13*

I have been food tracking for years and used various apps. This is everything I didn’t know I was missing in a food logging app! So easy and love that I can talk to and brainstorm with TOVA. She’s my little assistant.

**Developer response:** Thank you! "Everything I didn't know I was missing" is the nicest thing anyone has said about her, and brainstorming with Tova is exactly how she's meant to be used. She's glad to be your little assistant. Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — Interactive Food Diary

*2026-09-11*

I’ve been really enjoying the TOVA Food Diary app! What I love most is how interactive and natural it feels. I can literally talk to TOVA about what I’ve eaten, and it automatically adds everything to my food diary and keeps track of my calories and macronutrients.

It makes tracking my food feel so much easier and less like a chore. I love that I don’t have to constantly type everything in or search through a huge food database—it feels more like having a conversation.

I would definitely recommend TOVA to anyone looking for an easy, interactive way to keep track of their nutrition! ❤️

**Developer response:** Thank you. "More like having a conversation" is exactly what we were going for, so that line made my day. And if she ever gets a number wrong, just tell her and she'll fix it.

Nick, TOVA

### 5/5 — Game changer!

*2026-09-04*

I have used many tracking apps and liked them but each had something it was missing. Tova is missing nothing!! It’s like she heard all the things I wanted and is them. She connects the dots. I love how I can just talk to her and go back and forth to about nutrition and foods and ideas and then she can just log or edit the log for me. It’s literally like I have a nutrition coach/assistant at my disposal. And being able to scan items not only to log them but to get a picture of the health and ingredients is awesome! I’ll actually be consistent now with logging and tracking.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.8 — 2026-10-27

Say "my usual." Eat the same breakfast most days? After it shows up three times, Tova offers to save it as your usual, and from then on "my usual" logs the whole thing in one word, no message spent.

Every estimate shows its work. Tap a food Tova logged and see how she got the number (a tall, 2 percent milk, one pump). Wrong? Just tell her: "only ate half" changes the thing you just logged, no second entry.

Ask Tova about your week or your month and she covers all of it: calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, added sugar and sodium. And each new week opens with a short note from her about the last one.

Been away a few days? Tova says welcome back and that's it. No streak, no lecture, a fresh page. The Yesterday summary is one quiet line now and clears itself when today's first food lands.

Know someone who quit tracking? You, then Tell a friend, sends them TOVA in one tap.

Hold the Action Button, or say "Log with TOVA" to Siri, and you land in the chat with the mic on. Deleting your account now also disconnects TOVA from your Apple ID if you signed in with Apple.

### 3.7 — 2026-10-19

Tova is right there from the start now. Open TOVA, say hi, and tell her what you ate. Your first 10 messages are free, no account needed, then two weeks free.

TOVA feels more alive. Your numbers count up as food lands in your day, the meal ring sweeps in, and the first time something new shows up it pops in with a gentle tap so you know where to look.

Foods land in the right meal more often. A second helping right after breakfast stays in breakfast, and a snack between meals is a snack.

Scanning got more honest: drinks with alcohol never score above Poor, and fruit with no sugar added says so.

Sign in with Apple. Making an account is one tap now, and email still works too.

A couple of days before a free trial ends, TOVA tells you when it converts and how to cancel. And if you start your trial from the chat, your message goes through by itself.

And Tova plans meals now. Ask for tonight's dinner, a whole day, or a week of dinners with a grocery list, built around what you already eat.

### 3.6 — 2026-10-14

Made for iPhone Duo. Hold it wide and TOVA becomes two pages, your day on the left and Tova on the right. Stand it up like a laptop and your day sits on the top screen while you talk to Tova on the bottom one, right where your hands are. Closed, your three latest favorites are one tap away. And when Tova logs something, watch it fly across to your day as the numbers count down.

Also in this update:
• If a product's numbers can't be right, like 25,000 mg of sodium in one snack, TOVA catches it before it lands in your day.
• Scanned foods land in the right meal (dried mango is a snack, not a drink), and Add to my food log sits right under the score.
• Tell Tova to make it four wings instead of six and she changes the entry already in your log. No second entry to clean up.
• A new day starts at midnight even if TOVA was left open overnight, so yesterday's coffee never shows up as today's. A workout you tell her about goes under Exercise, never into a meal.
• Picked a target date that has already passed? TOVA tells you now instead of building a rushed plan.
• Eating somewhere local with no nutrition info? Tova gives you a solid estimate and only asks what matters.
• The Scan tab's examples are friendlier: oats, pasta and sparkling water.

### 3.5 — 2026-10-05

TOVA is on Android now too. Same app, same account. Tell your Android friends.

Change just one number. Goal & plan now shows your goal weight, target date and daily calories at the top; tap one, change it, and TOVA tells you exactly what changed. If your target date has passed, it says so and helps you pick a new one.

The weight chart calmed down. It opens on your last two weeks, and Month, Quarter and All show a smooth trend line with your weigh ins as dots, so a long stretch reads as a direction instead of a scribble. The line draws itself in when you open it.

Fiber everywhere you look, if you track it. Add Fiber on Today (You, then Customize Today) and it shows on every food and meal, in the meal ring as its own arc, in your week and month, and in Trends. Your plan's fiber suggestion is saved as your target now too.

Recipes you save with Tova keep their ingredients, and they log in servings: two muffins is two muffins, not 2 g.

Tova is straight about photos. She keeps a short note of what she saw, never the picture, and she'll say so instead of guessing.

### 3.4 — 2026-10-02

Night. A fourth look under You, then Appearance: warm and dim for late logging, with no bright white anywhere. Set it to switch on by itself in the evening if you like.

Your calories remaining now show you where you stand at a glance: teal while you are on track, coral if you have gone over. A little more color everywhere, too: protein, carbs and fat carry their own colors on Today and in your log.

Each morning, Today opens with yesterday: calories against your goal and all three macros, with one line on how it went.

Trends has a new Summary: your week, two weeks, month or quarter, with average calories, protein, days logged and weight change.

Scanned a product and fixed the numbers? Your fix sticks to that barcode on your phone. Drinks are measured in ml now.
