V 4.0.1. I used to get notifications, then they stopped. iPhone 13. All notifications are ‘allowed’ in both app and phone settings. I deleted and re-installed the app. No joy. It’s too bad as I once found the notifications useful.

Stay with the old version on the app. I recently updated and I regret it.  The best part of the old app was the Public Safety updates which now are not usefully. They appear on the Home Screen but are not clickable to view the entire message. You now have to drill down to read the full message.

The idea that the app can send notifications is great, but why can’t the app allow me to submit service requests or request information to the town? This app is a great start would love to see an upgrade!

I was excited to see and download the Smithtown app a few months ago. My first impression was it was almost a duplicate of the website. Basically it is. The website is a navigational hazard. The app is no better.
The only positive part of the app are the Push Notifications for planned and unplanned road closures.
The short lived recycling Push Notifications only went out for a few weeks. They were the most useful part of the app as many residents are putting out the wrong items when the town went back to duel stream recycling.
What the app needs is a way to report vehicles left on the street when the plows are out. Public Safety should be ticketing or removing those vehicles so everyone gets plowed properly.
Options to report street lighting that isn’t working properly and potholes that need repair need to be added.

We’ve enjoyed and appreciated this app. from the moment it was first out. 

I know personnel recently changed with whoever puts out the notices. Please return to putting 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙣/𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚 in the headline/title of the alert(i.e., Road Hazzard-St. James). 

My family and I have this app for the traffic alerts. However, they’ve become less helpful and more cumbersome. No specific towns and only street names make it challenging, along with having to read the entire message to realize it doesn’t pertain to me. It’s just not as efficient.
