## What is Town Stoic?

One card a day from the Stoics. Real lines, really theirs.

Town Stoic deals one card each morning: a line from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, or Epictetus, waiting face down on your table. Flip it when you are ready. That is the whole ritual.

EVERY LINE IS REAL
366 quotations, one for every day of the year including leap day, each one traced to its page in the classic public-domain translations of George Long, T. W. Higginson, and R. M. Gummere. The translator is named on every card. No internet paraphrases, no invented quotes: if the author did not write it, it is not in the deck.

PLAIN ENGLISH, QUIETLY
Beneath each quotation, one sentence says what the line means in modern words. It explains. It never preaches.

• Flip the morning card, then tap it to read it full screen
• Keep a private note on the back of any day's card
• Three quiet dots open THE SOURCE: the full citation for every line
• THE YEAR holds your deck: flipped cards face up, the rest waiting
• Widgets bring the waiting card and today's line to your Home Screen
• Optional iCloud backup, off until you ask for it, so your notes survive a lost phone

NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR
No account, no ads, no subscription, no AI. Your notes stay on your phone. If you would rather they survived losing the phone, you can switch on iCloud backup in Settings: it is off until you ask, and the copy sits in your own iCloud, not on anyone's server. Town Stoic is free. A small tip jar exists if you ever feel like saying thanks.
