## What is TowTide?

Tide, current and lock status for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway — Texas into Louisiana. Built for towboat crews, not beachgoers.

CURRENT TAB
• Favorites showing what the water is doing right now, each opening to a forecast at 0600 / 1200 / 1800 / 2359
• A map of 58 stations drawn from lat/lon — no map tiles, so it works with no signal
• A searchable station list covering the GIWW from Sabine to Port Isabel
• The 350: GIWW mile 350 at Bolivar Roads, where the Intracoastal crosses the Houston Ship Channel — ten channels under one card, each with its own forecast

LOCKS TAB
• Every lock from the Brazos floodgates to the Industrial Lock in New Orleans, collapsed to one line each
• Open one for river conditions, per-gate current and head in feet and inches, VHF channel and chamber size
• USACE-reported closures and stoppages — the only source that says a lock is actually shut
• Mississippi River stages from Red River Landing down to Head of Passes

DATA THAT TELLS YOU THE TRUTH
• Never presents a substitute gauge as the real one — if the nearest gauge is 5 miles away, the card says so
• Never shows a dead gauge's number — older than 24 hours reads GAUGE DOWN
• MPH is real water movement; FT/HR is how fast the tide is rising or falling. The app never confuses the two
• Live data from NOAA CO-OPS, USGS Water Services and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers — no account, no tracking, no ads
