What a waste of $500. Even with the newest update it is still not working. The iPhone app has always been pretty bad but at least it worked pre iPhone 14…kinda…not really. @ TOYOTA, time for a major overhaul of the app and bug fixes please. I love my Toyota!! More importantly, there’s no warning until it’s too late that you can damage the camera and the card if you remove it while the camera is plugged in! That’s nuts!!! I’ve only been able to pull one video off and text it to myself. Can’t seem to repeat the process. This dash cam viewer is a total train wreck, too. It has no links to open a saved video. There are no instructions of any sort. Even though there’s a link that says instructions, it only tells you “what” you can do. Not “HOW” you can do it. This app is separate from the connection to your car so no matter how many times you try to connect to it the car keeps kicking you off your connection with the dash cam. And if you’re in proximity to any other connection that you might have it also kicks you off. So even if you disconnect an unpaired from absolutely everything you still can’t get into this dash cam app without being kicked off and told that something is wrong but no matter what you do it won’t connect, but then about the 50th time of doing the same repeated steps it might connect and then slowly, and I mean slowly, load a clip and then when you go to scroll to the next clip, it’ll kick you out and you’ll go through another 50 attempts of trying to reconnect. ### 1/5 — You ever gonna fix it? *2025-08-14, version 1.4.4* Hey Toyota! Viewing videos on my phone while connected to the dashcam’s WiFi is the only real option since taking the card in and out is a pain. When using the app, there is no preview to see what I’m downloading, so I have to guess based on the time stamp. Downloading each video is slow (it takes 28-30 seconds to download a 38 second video clip). This wouldn’t be so bad if I could see a preview of the video to know if I’m downloading one from when I’m parked, vs driving, etc. What is typical is that I have to go through 5-10 video clips just to find the one I am looking for. I can’t see a preview of any of those and can only see the entire clip, which means I have to download each of those clips individually. It would also be helpful to be able to select a chunk of videos and download them all together, then I could look through them later on my phone to choose the one I’m trying to find. ### 2/5 — poor excuse for a dashcam *2023-09-15* It works but it is VERY slow.
