However, very often when I initially open the app., it gets stuck on the advertisement part (the ads played before the programming). It’ll play the same add over and over and doesn’t continue on to the programming. And on a lark I decided to try to use the TPR app. Now of course all you technical experts out there already know what happens next. It worked! So I was able to get 89.1 in Minnesota. Works great on Apple devices, over the air or wi-fi. My Android phone, however, will periodically crash or freeze when on wi-fi but not over the air. Every day, and I do mean every day, about every 10 or 15 minutes the app reboots, and because the first 15 seconds always includes an advertisement,i there. fore a mess a part of a story. So to avoid that I’ve gone to the NPR app, which works just fine, but I miss the local stories, and for anyone who wants to believe him is on my end, why doesn’t this happen with another app? And yes, I have deleted it, rebooted my phone reinstalled it ### 1/5 — Worst app ever *2021-05-21, version 4.5.6* There are multiple dropouts (dead air) every single day. I updated the app on 21 May, and now it won’t run at all. Whoever manages the app should be fired. Terrible. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work Well W/ IPhone XS Max *2019-05-03, version 3.9.24* Recently upgraded to IPhone XS Max from a 6S, for whatever reason the app doesn’t work well with the new hardware/software. The radio streaming is intermittent and the app crashes at times. Please fix the issue. ### 1/5 — Not very VoiceOver friendly. *2015-08-06, version 3.4.7* Using VoiceOver, you can get only one of the three streams--the one that is mostly news. Not good for music people. Try to go to another stream (or page, according to VoiceOver), and it just goes right back to the first one. If I could access the other streams, I could get a better idea as to how good the app is. I don't live in Texas, so I can get the news on local channels and apps. Now I still feel like they are both politically fair and honest letting me think for myself with good information which is what NEWS is supposed to be. I switch back and forth between MR and TR but especially when MR dose there fund drives. Many of the same programs, but i do enjoy the Texas stories too. ### 3/5 — Good when it works *2016-05-24, version 3.7.30* Lots of great content. I use most often to stream what's live at the moment & this is where there are problems. Not frequently but often enough to be frustrating, the app will load & I'll hear the obligatory funding message but then will not be connected to the live news program. It just won't do it! Classical music will connect, but not news programming, no matter how many times I touch "play" or get out of & reopen the app. Please fix this! ### 4/5 — It travels! *2025-08-13* I love the mobility of this app and the ability to use it at our ranch and while on travel.
