## What is Trace?

Trace is a health coach that actually looks at your data.

At its core is a pattern engine: it cross-references everything you log - food, workouts, weight, sleep, water, mood, supplements, meds, bloodwork - to find the real, statistically gated relationships hiding in your own numbers. Feeling bloated, foggy, or just off some days and not others? Trace looks for what is actually correlated - a supplement, a short night, a food, a training day - instead of guessing, so you can problem-solve your own symptoms with evidence instead of hunches.

Log by chat, photo, one-tap routines, or automatically from Apple Health. Upload bloodwork and Trace reads the whole panel.

- Pattern engine: finds real correlations between your habits and how you feel - no horoscope insights; if the data does not support a pattern, Trace says nothing
- Chat-first coaching grounded in every entry you have logged
- Snap a meal photo - logged with calories and macros
- Two-way Apple Health: weight, activity, sleep and vitals flow in, and meals or water you log in any other app are counted here too
- Saved workout routines you log in one tap
- Daily insight on your Today screen, plus a weekly review each Monday
- Bloodwork, trends, and goals in one place
- Email a report of any section to your doctor or trainer as a spreadsheet
- Your data stays yours: no ads, no trackers, delete everything any time

Trace is coaching, not medical advice.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.6 — 2026-08-06

Trace now describes its Apple Health access accurately on the Apple Health screen: it reads your weight, activity, sleep, vitals and nutrition, including meals and water you log in other apps. It has worked that way since the last update but never said so.

### 1.4.5 — 2026-08-02

Fixes and refinements throughout.

Apple Health
- Meals and water you log in other apps now sync into Trace. Nutrition used to be one-way, so anything logged outside Trace was invisible to your coach and your patterns.

Goals
- The goal editor now shows adherence, your next step, and a check-in date.
- Fixed edits that reported "saved" without actually saving. Clearing a field now sticks.

Charts
- Bars at the edges of a chart are no longer clipped.
- Date labels along the bottom of a chart space out evenly instead of bunching up.
- The scrub tooltip sizes itself to its contents rather than running off the edge.

Feedback
- Shake to report a problem now captures the screen you were actually looking at. The first report came through blank and later ones carried the previous screenshot.

Other
- Redesigned welcome screen.
- Password reset links are now secured with a verified web link.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-08-01

The camera button now opens your camera directly — tap for camera, touch and hold for your photo library, no extra screen in between. Fixed a bug where the chat could go blank right after sending a message until you scrolled up. Older conversation history now loads in as you scroll up instead of all at once.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-07-26

Comparison charts (like calories vs weight) now let you press and drag to see the exact value at any point, not just the latest one. Fixed bar charts overflowing on some screens, and fixed a rare case where Trace could say it logged something (like sleep) that didn't actually save. Weight, water, and meals you log by chatting with the coach now sync to Apple Health too, the same as manual entries. Removed the suggestion pills under chat messages. Trace now also sends a weekly review each Monday morning with the week's biggest pattern, not just the daily insight.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-24

You can now reset your password right from the sign-in screen if you forget it, and password requirements are explained up front instead of a cryptic error. Trace's welcome message now actually explains what you can do here — log by photo, connect Apple Health, or set a goal — with one-tap suggestions to get started. Charts can now compare multiple metrics together (like calories and weight) on one graph, and weekly totals render as bars. The Today tab can now review any past day. Data reports now email as a clean Excel file with a copy sent to you, and net calories now correctly account for workouts logged without Apple Health.
