## What is Trace?

Trace is a private journal of where you've been. It quietly records the places you stop and the way you move between them, and turns every day into a timeline you can look back on.

• See your day on a map, with each stay and journey in order.
• Add notes and photos to the places that mattered.
• Look back by day, week, month or year, and see the places you return to most.
• Watch your explored map fill in as you discover new streets, with milestones that never expire and no streaks.
• Bring your history with you: import your Google Maps Timeline for free.

Private by design. Your journal is encrypted on your device, with no accounts, no ads and no third-party analytics. Keep your home or any saved place private, and sync across your iPhone and iPad with optional encrypted iCloud sync.

Recording starts only when you choose, and you can pause it at any time.

Trace works best with Always location access, so it can keep recording in the background. Continued use of GPS in the background can decrease battery life.
