On the home page it will just say waiting for file to upload. The system should know the file is uploading and how far along it is. ### 2/5 — Too many glitches *2026-04-28* Great idea, if they can fix all the bugs, and make it easier to navigate. Very slow to download, not user friendly, even with the guided tutorials. I want to be able to save it to my photos on my phone and it doesn’t allow for that. I want to be able to post on social media and it doesn’t allow for that. You cannot share it with anyone unless they have an account. I do not recommend. ### 2/5 — Trace *2026-02-02, version 5.3.3* The trace teams always think my teammate is me. Its slow. Doesn’t produce good highlights. Default should be volume on…I have to turn volume back on multiple times throughout the match. 2. Player focus should be option not default. Most people want to watch the match and later come back to focus on specific moments. 3. Glitch when zooming in too much, restarts the playback and original setting (ie no volume/player focus). This happens way too much! ### 1/5 — Trace is NOT worth the money! *2025-09-29, version 5.2.4* If you’re still within the 7-day window for ordering your subscription, CANCEL it and get your money back! The videos never record and process correctly. The AI doesn’t work. Customer service is responsive, but there’s always an excuse followed by “it will get better moving forward.” They’re selling fool’s gold! The video quality is sub par and the app is difficult to understand and navigate. Customer service is poor as well. But don’t make it so I can’t make clips of my own. They removed it so I can only edit the small time of clip the ai or software decided. Make it so you can go throughout your whole game and make your own clips. And downloads shouldn’t be need to have an own link sent to be so I can download it from there. ### 1/5 — Abysmally poor implementation of a great idea *2025-04-06, version 4.9.2* Its a colossal waste of time and money to review footage. You constantly have to manually fix errors from AI, and there is no TV app. Just like tesla, the decision to move to pure image AI instead of sensors is an unmitigated disaster. ### 1/5 — Unnecessarily Inconvenient *2024-12-18, version 4.9.2* If you record the game with your phone camera, you get almost the same quality and range of footage, but without all the technological (hardware and software) difficulties. At every opportunity you are hit with messages and icons inviting you to upgrade. I already paid $180 and it’s definitely not worth what I paid for. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Do not use *2026-08-20, version 6.1.18* Trace will lose your camera footage without explanation and just apologize. The tech is not as advertised and better videos and analytics are available on Veo. You will try to create your own highlights and the screen will just pause and start shaking. DO NOT TRUST YOUR KIDS MOST MEMORABLE MOMENTS WITH THIS SUB PAR TECHNOLOGY. ### 1/5 — iPad mini 6th generation iOS 18 can’t download *2026-07-01, version 6.1.15* No download app option. Says device isn’t compatible, but listed in description as compatible. Should support small iPad. ### 1/5 — Bug *2026-06-29* I payed for a pro subscription but the subscription directed to a different player on the team rather than who I tried to pick. After I got rid of the wrong player my subscription disappeared. In billing it still shows I own the subscription but when I try to add a player to my family it keeps asking me to pay for a new subscription. Video quality and AI not improving. Player focus and zoom not accurate beyond ~40m from camera. Even though it says that I cancel it on the website, they still charge me for the next year. I do not use Trace at all now and they said that they would not be able to refund me since it’s been more than seven days. This leads to wasted time, ineffective help solutions, and a product that does NOT work. Do not invest or spend your money. It’s incredible!!! There’s nothing like this on the market. There are apps that are similar, but don’t hold a candle to Trace. I get a text after the game with an AI highlight of just my son that I can easily share with family. ### 5/5 — Easy to use and reliable *2025-02-02* I’ve had trace camera for several years now. I record estimate 70 games per year give or take. I have only lost one game due tech issue. I have had the camera replaced once. I’ve always had great support from Trace and no issues. Been very accommodating and help find solution. As for recording easy one two. Sometimes the camera doesn’t catch key moments but it’s rare it happens. Sharing is difficult as it wants you to subscribe. It’s affordable and no long term commitment. Once you’re done just return and that’s all. It’s a lease and so you don’t own it. They stand behind their product and always try to improve with minimal to no increase In price.
