Welcome story, compose draft & Home feed polish
Welcome story before sign-in — First launch walks you through why Trace exists, meets Terra, and shows a quick live demo. Returning users land on a simple sign-in gate.

Start a trip before you join — From the demo, tap Make one for my trip, pick a destination and trip length, and Trace saves a draft locally until you create an account.

Onboarding refresh — Two new traveler types (Seasoned Explorer and Freedom Traveller), a tighter category layout, and better dark-mode contrast on welcome and onboarding screens.

In-app review prompt — After a great planning moment, Terra may ask for a quick App Store rating (respecting Apple's rules and your prior responses).

Home feed polish — Trip captions on cards, a cleaner Live Now shortcut, and your Following list grouped into Friends first.

Wishlist and feed fixes — Friends-only wishlists, richer feed cover photos, and more reliable home feed filtering for traces you can actually open.

Bottom line: A smoother first-run experience, an easier path to your first draft, and a cleaner Home feed.

### 1.13 — 2026-08-18

Published trips, activity cards & nearby day trips
Finished trips show up as published — Public or Friends trips that were still marked Ready or Live after the dates ended now complete, so they appear on your profile and in the feed like other shared traces.

Activity card polish — Maps and Uber buttons match height, and Uber stays black in dark mode. Notes, time, and photos save more reliably, and notes no longer show twice on Live NOW.

Nearby day trips — When you add a stop from a nearby town (about an hour's drive), Trace can put it on a day trip automatically. Destination search also covers many more cities worldwide.

Bottom line: Finished trips publish when they should, activity cards are cleaner, and nearby towns are easier to add as day trips.

### 1.12 — 2026-08-18

Find a trip, share when you're ready
Take me somewhere — From Create, pick a city you're based in and filter trips by travel time. Copy the full trip or pick days, and tap a card to preview the itinerary.

Swipe photos on the feed — Trip cards with more than one photo are swipeable. Long captions sit under the photo and expand with show more.

Share your trace when you're ready — Finished trips, including photo and calendar imports, stay private and off your profile until you tap Share your trace. Choose Friends or Public, add a caption, or unpublish later.

Faster Explore and Search — The Explore map feels snappier, and opening Search no longer rebuilds Home. Cancel gets you back instantly.

Dark mode polish — Dark theme is a deep navy. Light mode is unchanged.

Itinerary and live polish — Clearer loading states, destination cards for viewers, and a more reliable live companion.

Feedback fixes — Wishlist city search, My Guide add-city, Saved empty-state, home search-pill lag, country flags, and more.

Bottom line: Find trips to copy, share completed traces when you're ready, and a faster Home, Explore, and Search.

Sign in, Search & friends
Sign in with Google or Apple — Get into Trace with your Google or Apple account, without typing a password every time.

Clearer welcome — Sign in and Create account are now separate, with Google, Apple, and email together on the next screen.

Email verification when you need it — New email signups can explore first; we'll nudge you to verify after a day, and require it after a few days.

Redesigned Search — Explore's search is now a dedicated Search tab with clearer filters, recent searches, and trending destinations.

Find more friends from contacts — Contact matching is more complete, and you can open Find from contacts again from Following.

Smarter photo import — Camera-roll imports pick real destination names more reliably and treat day trips as day trips. When some photos can't be used, you'll see a clearer banner.

Profile and social polish — Improved profile maps, follower/following screens, and small details across social discovery.

Reliability — Google sign-in on Android now finishes after you pick an account. CAPTCHA and onboarding states are clearer.

Bottom line: Easier sign-in, a dedicated Search tab, better friend finding, and smarter past-trip photo import.

### 1.10 — 2026-07-24

Itinerary polish & import fixes
Smoother itinerary quick-add — Pick a place and jump straight to the new stop with details open. Keyboard Done only dismisses the keyboard, and suggestions stay visible while you type.

Clearer route start on the map — In Route view, the trip origin is a compact 1 on the blue pin.

Photo import destination names — Trips from photos use real city or country names instead of “Stay 1 / Stay 2.”

Place search that stays visible — Suggestions no longer hide under Save bars or the keyboard.

Faster Explore recenter — The map recenter control responds more quickly.

My Information in Settings — Update your photo and name from Settings.

Import → Manually — Starts the same planner flow as planning a new trip.

Home feed variety — Refresh brings a fuller, more varied first page of trips.

Bottom line: Smoother day-by-day editing, clearer maps, and more reliable photo-import names.
