### 5/5 — Does the job

*2014-05-13*

Saves memory and does the job- 5Star.

### 5/5 — Better than any clip on tuner I've owned

*2013-07-27*

v1.3, iOS 6.1.3, iPhone 4S

This thing tunes *very* tight. For best results, you do need to reduce background noise, so a clip adapter would be nice. Can't get away from others? Simply place your phone on the instrument.

I play mandolin, so there's that inherent problem of matching strings. Clip on tuners and needle-type apps leave me wondering why it sounds "off" even though the needle is centered. Not with this tuner. If it says you're in tune, you can bet on it and you can hear the difference.

The display takes a moment to figure out. Just play a note and it becomes self-evident. Tweak the tuning gently and the 5 second display shows your progress. Great idea. That 5 second display may be why you can see such accurate results.

I'm not sure why others want more accuracy. This is my only trusted tuner.

### 5/5 — Sehr Gut

*2013-07-07*

### 5/5 — Hallo Herr Merkel, ...

*2013-04-09*

... danke für die gute App!

### 5/5 — The best tuner app for pros

*2013-01-08, version 1.3*

Can't believe this isn't the top tuner app, perhaps there is a similar one that is more popular. Shows pitches for the past few seconds, excellent for voice training, learning the violin, or setting guitar intonation accurately. The only guitar tuner I will use; most tuners show you an average of pitches, which is inaccurate (guitars are sharp when plucked for example); this shows the actual sampled pitch.

### 5/5 — Super

Ein geniales Programm! Funktioniert Super, wenn ich meinen E- Bass stimme!¡¡¡!!!¡¡¡!!!¡¡¡!!!¡¡¡!!! ;)

### 5/5 — Genau das, was ich gesucht habe

### 5/5 — Great tuner with transposition

### 5/5 — Genial und einfach

Auch für gute Ohren einfach genial.

### 5/5 — This is really cool

*2011-06-25*

I went for this app because it looked like such a good idea, had no reviews and only cost £0.59. Makes absolute sense for playing in tune as the trick is not only to hit the note but also stay on it. Like this. A simple good idea well implemented.

### 5/5 — Top

Tolles stimmgerät für viele instumente geeignet!!!

### 5/5 — Musik ist Physik ist Mathematik ...

*2011-02-04*

### 5/5 — What a great tuner!

*2011-01-19*

This is a different way for a tuner to work but it is superb. So far have used it with soprano sax and guitar. Really helpful to get right into the middle of a note. I think other tuners often give a false positive as soon as you hit the pitch. This provides a trace and helps me centre my pitch - especially valuable on the tricky sop sax. Outstanding and being free is a bonus.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-11-09*

Doesn’t pick up sound and no option to change tuning

### 1/5 — Schrott

*2012-01-19*

Stürzt auf Ipod touch sofort ab! 79ct verschenkt - vielen Dank !

### 1/5 — -.-

*2011-10-08*

### 1/5 — Eww

*2010-11-28*

Ewwie like a patooie

### 2/5 — Crappy

*2010-12-13*

When I tapped the app, it took 20 secs just to crash.

### 3/5 — IPhone 4s Problem

*2013-08-20*

DankeMH

### 4/5 — Mostly Great...

*2011-01-31*

Some *quick* tests with my keyboard were showing this was accurate to within a few cents, which meets the needs of the vast majority of people. The running tape is nice so that you can *see* trends and errors and adjust accordingly.

The "Freqencies" view is neat but has few practical applications because there isn't enough resolution in the frequency domain to gain knowledge of the frequencies--or better yet notes--that are being played. (I'm not quite sure what the page is really for other than looking neat, as it doesn't accomplish any of the use cases very well (e.g. overtone analysis, polyphonic tuning, decomposition of a polyphonic source into it's notes).

Lastly, after having this on my phone for awhile I started having the "20 second" lock-up bug where everything would work fine for about 10-20 seconds and then it'd just freeze up. Deleting and reinstalling it seemed to fix the problem, and I actually suspect that the issue is with the iOS 4 multitasking, and that just killing the app and restarting (or equivalently, restarting the phone) would fix the problem as well.

Overall, it is worth the purchase and is working well for my needs (tuning of a guitar, flugelhorn, and trumpet, as well as checking how in tune I am with certain trumpet trouble pitches like C#4 that need to be corrected via slides.)

### 4/5 — Good tuner

*2011-01-14*

I like seeing the past 5 seconds of tuning. maybe have up to 10 seconds when tilt iPhone horizontal.
I'd like to be able to keep the transposition after quitting app and then starting.
Would like to have different levels of sensitivities while tuning a brass or woodwind instrument

### 4/5 — Ein gutes Stimmgerät (auch für Bass)

*2010-11-24*

### 5/5 — My favorite sax training tuner…

…a great tuning APP :)…

### 5/5 — Great tuner

I love this tuner and have used it for many years. Please keep it updated!

### 5/5 — best and most versatile tuner that I have come across

*2018-03-31*

This is to my mind by far the best and most versatile tuner that I have come across. The Trace Tuner is unique in how it measures and displays tuning and it’s also extremely sensitive. It is easy to play and evaluate even very short and quiet notes, invaluable for instrumentalists wanting to check and improve their tone production. You can see several seconds’ worth of history, thus easy to see back with a great deal of accuracy over the passage just played. I don’t know of any other tuner able to do this. It is possible to do basic extras such as changing the overall pitch (A=440 or other values). Moreover, it has the really cool additional feature of displaying an accurate frequency map showing all overtones and harmonics including their respective volume - you can in effect SEE TIMBRE.
No, I don’t receive a commission for saying all this and I have no personal connection with the developers. I have used this tuner for many years now. It is BRILLIANT. Thanks for creating it.

Weiter so! Vielen Dank!

### 5/5 — So perfect!

Exactly what you need for tuning whatever you need. The price is great and would be for much more!
Thank you so much for keeping this updated!

### 5/5 — Danke Merkel!

Endlich in 64 bit!

### 5/5 — Super!

*2016-05-28*

Toll!!

### 5/5 — Very accurate!

*2015-02-17*

I was having trouble tuning my ukulele with other paid apps. There's not a lot of margin for error with this tiny instrument. This app is very easy to use and my uke sounds so sweet now. Thank you!

From the looks of the settings page, this app could probably use a refresh to bring it in line with the latest Apple graphical standards, but that's a minor niggle for an app that really improved the sound of my instrument, and therefore, my playing!

### 5/5 — Top

*2014-11-14*

Der unschlagbar beste Tuner auf dem iPhone.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2014-07-30*

I really needed a precise tuner that was easy to use and could help me get my alto sax in tune. I got this because I needed a tuner for a marching band assignment, and this definitely worked like all tuners should.

The tuner has good "hearing" so to speak, in that it: picks up on a lot of noise, can tell you the frequency (if you need to be that specific), but will pick up some background noise.

I felt that I was able to see my adjustments, get my instrument in tune, and really feel when my sax was in the "golden range".

I definitely recommend this to musicians who need an exact tuner. It was well worth the small price!
