### 2/5 — iPhone 16

*2026-08-30, version 5.0.5*

The compare laps view doesn’t work on the mini map

### 2/5 — Strictly an on-device app

*2026-07-19, version 5.0.4*

It’s great for what it does, but you need to pay for RaceRender for it to be anything other than an entirely local, on-device product. It’s theoretically possible to offload the files from your device, to a computer/cloud storage, and then load them back onto a different phone. It’s a cumbersome process, but it’s theoretically possible.

It just isn’t actually possible. It simply does not work. The video and data files will transfer, but the text file needed to tie them together will zero out, so when you load it back the video files will show as having loaded but there will be no video available in the app.

Basically this app is awesome as long as you only need to see videos captured on your current phone.

### 2/5 — Video is painful

*2026-03-27, version 5.0.2*

This new interface is NOT good. Getting video to record is spotty at best and it only gets worse from there… want to watch a specific lap, forget that. The video always starts at the beginning. Setting a lap you want to watch is pointless. I had no choice to switch a few years ago and it was fine. This new interface/version is junk. And support? Forget that.

### 3/5 — Latest version is not good.

*2026-03-22, version 5.0.2*

App has been 5/5 stars the last few years until latest release early this year. It was super simple to plug and play with iPhone in a windshield mount. Latest release includes support for a lot of features and devices, but isn’t easy to use. It didn’t record anything my first 2 sessions, and has a lot of bugs. The last session I got it working but the video was blurry and not usable.

Looking into buying a Garmin Catalyst. Track time is precious and I don’t have the patience or time to mess around with 100 settings when I’m in the grid before a race.

### 1/5 — App update is a disaster

*2026-03-16, version 5.0.1*

Many things are not working now. The worst, I cannot go to a single lap video for my existing session or new session, and no more speed overlay on videos. The setting is there but it does not work, Also in the new app I have no way to know if my GPS 160 is connected or not and the list goes on. I want to get back to the older one, that at least works.

### 3/5 — Newest update has connectivity issues

*2026-03-15, version 5.0.1*

The latest update doesn’t allow me to connect to a MPVI2+ device anymore to check live data. It’ll freeze the app if I try to select it.

### 1/5 — Ruined

*2026-03-15, version 5.0.1*

As others have said , it was great and is now ruined. Same with the editing software race render. Nearly useless now doesn’t accept x265 which is what this records in with no settings to change it. It’s like they broke it on purpose….. Unusable in current state. Sad.

### 1/5 — 改悪

*2026-03-12*

video ではスピードも回転数もgも何も描画されないので　以前のバージョンに戻して欲しい

### 1/5 — Loved it until

*2026-03-05, version 5.0.1*

I was at the track last weekend and would t talk to my BLE sensor. Now it will talk but the videos don’t display the data correctly, even the old videos that used to work. No speed. Throttle is not calibrated, traction circle is a mess, etc. I loved it but now I’m very disappointed. A little QA goes a long way. Maybe pushing out a beta version would be a thought for the next major release. I hope the bugs get fixed shortly or I’ll have time go Garmin.

### 1/5 — Loved it until the last Sun update

*2026-02-26, version 5.0*

I've been using It for a long time and I've really liked how it's most everything l've wanted overlaid on the video. When tried to use the new updated version last week, it crashed three sessions in a row. The only video that worked (1 of 3) doesn't have any of the overlay info at all, and the data stream part is missing as well.
Obviously the new update has a couple of bugs. I hope you but and update out soon.

### 2/5 — Latest update is a disaster

*2026-02-24, version 5.0*

I was very happy with Track Addict and have been using it for over a year. The latest update is a disaster. My settings got reset and multiple features aren’t working correctly now. I’ll update my rating once all these issues get fixed but for now find a different app to use.

### 1/5 — Loved it until the last update

*2026-02-22, version 5.0*

I've been using It for a year and I've really liked how it's most everything I've wanted overlaid on the video. When tried to use it last week, it crashed three sessions in a row. The only video that worked (1 of 3) doesn't have any of the overlay info at all, and the data stream part is missing as well. Get those sorted and I'll start using it again. While they're there, adding some more OBD2 data would be nice for engine monitoring. I'd like IAT, Boost, water and oil temp, and oil pressure recordings.

### 2/5 — Issue after update

*2026-02-22, version 5.0*

After update I can not see time and gps speed on rendered video

### 1/5 — Wont stay open after update

*2026-02-14, version 5.0*

I’ve used the app for years. It updated sometime recently to the new UI. I went to start my first session on the track today, and the app closed and didn’t record any lap times. I’ve riddled with it for a while and can’t see any way to fix it. I also can’t find a support email. Most to Harry’s Lap Timer which is supposed to be more reliable.

### 2/5 — 更新後，程式執行銀幕都會關閉

*2026-02-14, version 5.0*

之前程式執行計時中
手機螢幕不會自動關閉

現在更新後
程式執行計時中
手機螢幕都會自動關閉
螢幕關閉後
無法紀錄數據

### 1/5 — Ver5.0 doesn't work under iOS26.3 / iPadOS26.3

*2026-02-13*

After updated app to ver5.0 automatically, app doesn't start.

### 3/5 — I’ve been using this app for about 4 months was working well until I was told I had to pay the addit

*2026-02-12, version 5.0*

I’ve been using this app for about 4 months and it was good, until I had a money race and the app froze… not to mention having to pay the 8.99 over again after stating it was only one time

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Meine Güte

*2026-07-01*

Erkennt kein Dual GPS, startet irgendwie nicht automatisch- Bedienung unklar. Stürzt ab… gna die alte Version war perfekt. Jetzt ist Bananensoftware

### 1/5 — 5.0.4 broke the app

*2026-06-23, version 5.0.4*

I have used TrackAddict for the last two years and it has been a fantastic application, and I've relied on it when other technologies have failed. I think they've had a nightmare with the latest release.. 5.0.4. Was used on my latest weekend and I didn't get one session recorded correctly despite choosing the right course that I've used before and numerous resets. I would not use this app until we hear from the manufacturer and that these nightmares have been resolved.

### 1/5 — Recent updates breaking core functionality

*2026-06-13, version 5.0.4*

Updates in the recent months have left me looking for anything else. All laps recorded this month show the g meter completely wrong. Speed updates with external gps aren’t as accurate anymore, glitch up and down. App crashes when play a video file. I have to force quit the app and try again to get it to work. A previous weekend I only got one lap recorded successfully. The other 3 sessions the recording never started. Extremely frustrating.

I also spent the money to buy race render to pair with this app and now regret it. My track addiction/ race render combination is unusable.

### 1/5 — New app is junk

*2026-06-02, version 5.0.4*

I have been using TA pro for years in Autocross this new version has many software glitches with connectivity problems. The problem is with HP tuners that now owns this mess. Their technical support is non-functional only by email. I have been trying to get simple answers for two months with no help.
Don’t waste your time or money on the Pro app.

### 1/5 — New update and app crashes

*2026-05-31, version 5.0.4*

Well it was one of my favorite lap timers. Newest update however and it keeps bugging out and not recording sessions. Would occasionally happen with the previous version of the app but this past weekend I couldn’t get a single session recorded and logged. Seemed to be an issue with integrated iPhone gps which has never been a problem before. 2 stars for the good times we had together in the past but I’ll have to buy something more reliable.

### 1/5 — Complete Garbage after the 5.0 update 3 months ago

*2026-05-31, version 5.0.4*

On iOS the app is completely bricked now. Video’s will record at 1080p 30fps regardless of what settings are used. App hangs reading OBD to the point it needs to be force closed.
App doesn’t always prevent phone standby when recording causing the whole session to not be captured.

Can’t even view older recordings properly.

DO NOT pay for this app.

It was great before the updated ui. I wish I could have the previous version back, but I can’t. Sucks I paid for something that the new developers then completely broke.

### 1/5 — No support from HP Tuners

*2026-05-19, version 5.0.3*

Used to be good but now it has missing gauge options that previously were available. Also data such as boost in app doesn’t match in Racerender 3 which the company hasn’t updated in years. I also have to mention the deceptive camera options shown on the app. Ie back camera and lidar camera are same. Triple back camera is just the same ultra wide camera 🤦🏻‍♂️ I don’t understand why put these here? There’s no mention in the full tutorial because it’s outdated 👎🏻

### 1/5 — No support from HP Tuners

*2026-05-07, version 5.0.3*

Used to be good but now it has missing gauge options that previously were available. Also data such as boost in app doesn’t match in Racerender 3 which the company hasn’t updated in years.

### 1/5 — Latest update killed the app

*2026-05-03, version 5.0.3*

I updated to the latest version. It seems to connect to my KIWI OBD it displays no data. Connection to XGPS 160 is in and out. Sometimes video, sometimes not. No actual video button on display like before. Does not stop recording at finish line. You have to take the phone out of the mount and turn it to portrait mode to manually stop recording. Turn a relatively good app into a POS.

### 1/5 — Update broke almost every

*2026-04-04, version 5.0.2*

Since the big app refresh I keep finding new issues. Before it worked great with only occasional minor issues, now I’ve had constant problems with video recording and playback, setting up custom start/finish for autocross, OBD telemetry syncing, GPS not starting laps, etc. It’s basically completely unusable now.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Is there a trending issue?

*2026-07-03*

This app has been wonderful for me over the last few seasons. It is a 4-5 star app and I’ll rate it that way even though there may be a small issue at this time. For some reason now, the app has quit working and will not record a session. Was at Barber recently and not one session would record no matter what I did. Most of the time the app would close itself and tell me the session failed to record. Downloaded another app and it worked just fine with my setup. Apparently I am not the only one experiencing these same symptoms during the same time period.

Update: found that after app update, its GPS Input setting changed. I had to reselect my external gps device and now signal strength is strong

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2026-05-07, version 5.0.3*

The only thing I would add honestly is an in app leaderboard for your custom tracks so you can race against your friends and easily see the scores

### 5/5 — 更新完合成影片完影片沒計時器跟速度數字

*2026-02-21, version 5.0*

更新完影片合成下來沒有計時器秒數，也沒有速度表，而且計時器螢幕會變暗，要自己開手機的營幕設定營幕永不滅掉才能計時

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-02-05, version 4.8.2*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — Great for what it is

*2026-02-05, version 4.8.2*

with the limitations of your phone, this is great. Obviously won’t be as accurate as a standalone timer but very happy with this, usually accurate within a tenth of a second

### 5/5 — Great tool for beginners

*2026-01-13*

Great tool for beginners on track

### 5/5 — Great App with Video and Times!

*2025-11-23, version 4.8.2*

Great App with Video and Times!

### 5/5 — A great auto cross tool.

*2025-09-29, version 4.8.2*

There is no better way to compare and analyze your performance and the vehicle performance than repeated tests of a fresh course. Because Auto Cross courses change every race, the slaloms, acceleration, braking and the shortest (and quickest) track are easier to spot in side by side comparisons that track addict provides. The set up for each race is easy and the ability to use RaceRender to create comparative movies is a great teaching tool as well. I have used it in 3 different cars in over 10 years of racing. I highly recommend it especially to rookies trying to better understand their own racing.

### 5/5 — Excellent tool

*2025-09-04, version 4.8.2*

Excellent to understand the training

### 5/5 — Great app for track days

*2025-08-16, version 4.8.2*

Track Addicts is a really solid app for anyone into track days. It’s easy to use and great for recording sessions, with accurate timings and the ability to compare laps, driving lines, and sessions against each other. This makes it really useful for spotting improvements and tracking progress over time.

The only small downside is that some of the track linings can be a little off, but that seems to be down to GPS limitations rather than the app itself. Overall, it’s a fantastic tool for drivers and one I’d definitely recommend.
