## What is Trackside?

Trackside tracks MARC commuter trains in real time — and uses months of historical data to tell you which trains you can actually count on. Live departure boards show where your train is and when it's really leaving; reliability stats reveal how dependable each train really is — so you can pick one you trust before you even leave.

Made by and for MARC commuters, not a transit agency.

Always free:
• Set your commute and see every train you can catch, each with how reliably it runs.
• Live departure boards for every MARC line, with honest delays measured against the official schedule.
• Reliability stats: how often each train is on time, and where along the route the delay actually builds.
• See the service alerts for the specific train you're looking at — not the whole system at once.
• Your own private ride history and stats, kept on your device and iCloud.
• Nearest-station lookup (location never leaves your phone).

Trackside Plus (subscription):
• Your train on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island with a live countdown.
• Delay and approach notifications — a heads-up before your train, and when it's really running late.
• Service alerts pushed to you for the trains you ride.

The whole app — live tracking, the departure boards, reliability stats, and your ride history — is free, and stays that way. Trackside Plus ($1.99/month or $14.99/year, first month free) lets your train come to you: it rides on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island and taps you on the shoulder before it leaves or when it's running late, so you can pocket your phone instead of checking it.

No account, no ads, no tracking. Trackside has no login, shows no ads, and uses no third-party analytics. Your location is used only for an on-device nearest-station lookup and never leaves your phone.

Trackside is an independent project — not affiliated with or endorsed by MARC, the Maryland Transit Administration, Amtrak, CSX, or Alstom. Schedule and real-time data come from the agencies' public feeds.
