I’ve received so many free stocks from referring friends - you have to wait a while to receive them but that just gives me more time to explore the app ### 5/5 — Fav trading app now *2023-07-14* Transferred from TD because the margin rate is literally 7X lower here. 0 commission is pretty much the industry standard now, but for someone who leverages heavily margin rate is the deciding factor for me. They've got a pretty solid desktop software for free that's comparable to other paid software I've seen. But looking deeper, this app based in China. Shady app. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-02-18, version 9.2.9.3* Shady business practices would steer clear of this app and research better applications for investing purposes ### 1/5 — Unauthorized Transactions *2024-12-04* I am writing to warn other users of TradeUp regarding unauthorized and unjustified activity in my self-directed brokerage account. Without my knowledge or permission, a position in my portfolio was liquidated and replaced with another security that is worth less than one-tenth of the original value. This is a self-managed account with no advisor involvement. At no point was I provided notice of this transaction, nor was any explanation given by the brokerage firm. When I reached out to TradeUP Securities, Inc. for clarification, they claimed their terms and conditions allowed them to take such actions. However, this response does not justify the lack of prior notification or the considerable financial harm caused by their actions. I believe this conduct warrants a thorough investigation, as it undermines the trust and transparency required for brokerage firms to operate in good faith. I have reached out to authorities of such behavior and wanted to share my experience here so other folks are aware. **Developer response:** We sincerely regret hearing about your experience and understand your concerns. Transparency and trust are core to our values, and we’ll use your feedback to help us improve. Today when I login to my account, they reverse the free stock which they gave for no reason. This is a scam website which promises their client for lucrative deal, maybe they take & sell your documents,information to hackers. I don’t recommend this chinese scammer site to anybody. Stay Safe ### 1/5 — fake app *2023-10-19, version 9.0.8.1* Essentially a fake app. Gives you reward stocks and present them to be always falling so you never want to redeem them…meanwhile the data is fake. Also super hard to navigate and I’m not even old lol ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work *2023-08-09, version 9.0.5.1* I downloaded the app, but it won’t let me in. It wants to send a code to my email “for security reason,” but then it says my email hasn’t been activated, which is incorrect. I got an email from Tradeup informing me my first deposit went through. There’s apparently no way to solve this issue without calling support. Very user-unfriendly. Plus, there are typos everywhere on the site. My overall experience with them is pleasant so far, besides all the usual stuff like simple and clean interface, 0 fees, I wanna give a big a big shoutout to their wonderful CS reps, super responsive and helpful at the same time.
