Wanted to make sure it did everything I needed before subscribing. It does. Now that I want to subscribe, I am unable to do so. My favorite thing this app does is take a photo file of a map and lay it over the main map and by two simple alignments, makes it instantly a navigable map with Gps coordinates which I can use! Also, I can export it to Gaia or Avenza or Maprika. Wow! 2. My second favorite thing is I can make a group in the app with others who download TrailBoss and we can see each other! This worked great in finding a lost phone! I don’t know why this app isn’t in major use by more GPS app users. Highly Recommend! I now use the paid version and it’s cheap for all that can be done with this app. ### 5/5 — From the beginning.....**UPDATED *2021-12-07, version 2.92* ....I’ve been using this app. Idk how more people dont use this bc there is nothing out there better than this. I’ve tried everything and nothing comes close to this app. Especially for recording trips and seeing all of the stats. Its by far, hands down, the best app out there for off-roading. I don’t want an app to show me where trails are bc im from coal county, there are no “official” trails here. There’s no shortage of “un-official”trails. To the developers: thank you!!! You nailed it!! Advertise it bc once they try it, they’ll buy it! Trust me. —-Johnny T Update: 2 years later and this app still amazes me with its accuracy and the phenomenal amount of detail put into it. Unbelievable!!! ### 4/5 — Really good app to use for recording trails *2021-05-08, version 2.85* This is pretty good to use for recording trails but be careful when making your own route it’s not really acurate and can mess you up and get lost but good for recording trails. **Developer response:** Our maps use the same data used by most mapping Apps and web sites and the data is generally quite accurate. You may have experienced degraded GPS position accuracy. The phone's GPS receiver can sometimes report positions with lower accuracy than normal due to a number factors. You can monitor 'GPS Accuracy' on the Dashboard page to get a sense of how accurate your GPS location on the map is. ### 2/5 — No longer Allows Share or Export Free *2021-04-10, version 2.83* The app is good at recording trips. The old version of the app allowed users to email GPS tracks to themselves or others. The old .tcx exports were what made this app useful. This feature now requires a subscription in the new app version. Recording past trips is not very useful when they are stuck on your phone. **Developer response:** You can share/export/email KMZ files with the unpaid version of the App. KMZ is now the most popular format and you can share KMZ files with other Trail Boss users and with all of the other popular mapping Apps including Google Earth. The old version of Trail Boss that supported TCX is over 4 years old. TCX is no longer a popular format so we have dropped support for it. A subscription adds GPX file export if you need it. ### 5/5 — Snowmobile *2021-03-15, version 2.82* For my snowmobile trips it works awesome to overlay them on google earth to get a better perspective of where I’ve been. I also use it fir hunting. I love it. Customer support has been excellent. ### 5/5 — Excellent App! *2021-01-08, version 2.79* I’ve had this app for 2 weeks. I’ve been playing around with it and I love it. There are so many features. I especially love the measurements part where you can get directions from your location and either by hiking or a car. Or set up to pick a point on the map and start there and find a route to another destination. I got great help from the developer about how to pause a hike when you are taking a break. Great support. I’ve only had this app for a short time. I watched the videos from the developers which helps a lot. I also have played around with the different settings to get more comfortable with it.
