## What is TrailMates ATX?

TrailMates helps you connect with friends on Austin's Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. See where your friends are in real-time, create events, and enjoy the trail together.

REAL-TIME FRIEND LOCATIONS
  See your friends on the map while you're both on the Butler Trail. Spot a friend nearby and meet up for a walk, run, or ride. Location sharing is automatic when you're on the trail and stops when you leave.

CREATE & JOIN EVENTS
  Organize group walks, runs, and bike rides on the trail. Set a meeting point, invite friends, and coordinate easily. Join events created by friends and discover new trail buddies.

FIND FRIENDS
  Already have friends using TrailMates? The app can find them through your contacts using privacy-preserving technology — your phone numbers are hashed, never stored directly. You can also search by username.

PRIVACY FIRST
  TrailMates is built with your privacy in mind:
  • Location is only shared while you're on the Butler Trail
  • No historical location tracking — real-time only
  • You control exactly who sees you: friends, event hosts, or event groups
  • Do Not Disturb mode hides you completely
  • No ads, no third-party analytics
  • Delete your account anytime
