See the trail before you ride it. Trails is a mountain-bike map that rides with you. Marked MTB trails around you, colour-coded by difficulty, on a 3D terrain map that picks the right view on its own as you ride. Plan a route by tapping the trails you want, record your rides with photos, and replay any ride as a cinematic flyover video — with the day’s trail conditions painted right onto the terrain. PLAN • Tap-to-build route planner — tap a trail and it selects to the next fork; keep tapping and Trails links the gaps. Distance, climb and difficulty as you build. • Met your own route on a round? One tap closes the loop back to the start. • Save, rename and re-ride your routes, share them as GPX, or preview any route as a flyover before you commit your legs to it. RIDE • Live GPS with an adaptive 3D map — terrain view on the trail, clean street view on the approach, bird’s-eye for the big picture. No tapping. • Record rides with the screen locked — a lock-screen Live Activity shows distance and time while you ride. • Live elevation read — the gradient ahead colour-graded from mellow to chunky, so a steep pitch is never a surprise. • Smart recording that pauses when you stop and catches every metre of slow technical climbing. REMEMBER • Ride summary the moment you stop: distance, climb, average speed, how much was singletrack vs road, and the day’s weather. • Add photos to a ride and they pin themselves to the exact spot on the track. • Replay any ride as a flyover — a terrain-hugging camera that banks through your turns, slows past your photos, and marks every summit. Export it as a video to your Photos with one tap. • A personal heatmap of every trail you’ve ever ridden. KNOW THE CONDITIONS • Trail conditions painted onto the terrain: dry, damp or wet, built from rain and sun history, the shape of the land and — in Norway — the ground itself. Most accurate in the Nordics, works worldwide. • One tap after a ride (“Dry / Mixed / Wet”) teaches the model your trails. Recording is always on too, no switch to find. • A calmer start: the map opens muted and fades to colour as you're ready to ride. • Record button redesigned: full width, brand yellow, with a smoother start and stop. • Sunset shown when you start a ride in the last two hours of light. • Ride and route thumbnails now use satellite imagery. • Flyovers play smoother by default. • Dozens of smaller polish fixes across the menu, feedback form and subscription screen. ### 2.4 — 2026-08-30 Better trail conditions. Only rain that has actually fallen counts now — a forecast no longer turns a dry trail "slippery". Grip and mud are judged separately, so a firm-but-greasy trail reads correctly. Sunset time when you start a ride, so you know how much light is left. Improved unmapped-trail reporting. Trails running alongside or joining existing ones are no longer missed, and you can re-check any past ride from its ⋯ menu. Cycle routes imported by name and labelled as what they are, instead of everything being marked as MTB. The ride summary is now a sheet — swipe down to dismiss. ### 2.3 — 2026-08-24 The biggest Trails update yet. Route planner — tap the trails you want and Trails builds the route: distance, climb and difficulty as you go, automatic connectors between taps, and one-tap loop closing when you come back around. Save, rename, share as GPX, or ride along with your route on the map. Record & remember — smarter ride recording (slow technical climbs no longer leave gaps), an instant ride summary with your trail-vs-road split and the day’s weather, and photos that pin themselves to the exact spot on your track. Flyover video — replay any ride or route as a cinematic flyover and export it straight to your Photos: the camera banks through your turns, slows past your photos, and marks every summit. Conditions everywhere — the wet/dry read now paints the terrain itself, and rides along in every flyover. Tell the app how the trails really were with one tap after a ride. Plus: a personal riding heatmap, satellite texture on the 3D terrain, place search that knows your local marka, and a big round of speed and polish — smoother zooming, faster panning, cleaner menus. Updated icon and logo Various bugfixes ### 2.2 — 2026-07-22 Trail conditions - Turn it on in Settings → Ride tools to see how wet each trail is: dry, mixed or wet. Built from MET Norway's rain and sun history, the shape of the terrain, and — in Norway — what the ground is made of and how dense the forest is above it. Works worldwide, and is most accurate in Norway. In a new area it gathers local weather history for a day or two before it can show conditions.
