In all 6 battles in the dungeon, there is at least one square on the field that gives buffs for caster-type characters, but there are no casters in the available lineup. The lineup is as follows: Arianrhod (ranger) Agate Crosner (warrior) Rean Schwarzer (ranger) Rufus Albarea (warrior) Laura S. Arseid (tank) Ries Argent (support) Bleublanc (warrior) Towa Herschel (support) So this makes this dungeon very difficult to win; it's the only one of the 50 dungeons in this set that I haven't been able to beat yet, despite having fairly easily beaten dungeons in this set with the same or higher enemy power, some of them when I was at a significantly lower level than my current one (101). I am sure this was simply a mistake when coding the game, since I can't really see any strategic logic to it being this way, but it would be great to have this fixed. Unless there's something I'm missing, it seems like there's no way to edit any of the players on the 2nd team until you're actually on the 2nd stage, specially not being able to switch any of them out to put on the first team. This is specifically getting in my way now because I have been stuck on main story battle 41-40, which is a 2-stage one, and Alfin is my most powerful character currently, and I just recently got her 2 support members (Mueller and Olivert) strong enough for them all to get most of the support benefits when they battle together. But because I'd used Olivert on my 2nd team in a previous battle, he's now stuck there until I beat the first stage of this one, so I can't do the support thing with Alfin at all until then. So yeah, this not being able to edit the teams thing seems like it was intended as another layer of challenge, but in practice it seems more like an arbitrary impediment; it's preventing players from using certain already-existing strategies but not introducing any meaningful ones of its own. And yes, in the future I will use far weaker characters for all the 2nd stage battles, because do I know that's basically the one and only way to get around this issue, and I was admittedly just mindlessly using way too OP characters for those battles without thinking ahead. So I did go back and forth a bit on posting this because I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me being annoyed at being stuck on the level and at my own lack of foresight. (And I also know this probably won't get changed, but I'm in too deep with this game now so I'm not going anywhere regardless lol). But I do still ultimately think this is just a feature that adds little-to-nothing to the game strategically, and can prevent people from using strategies that take a ton of time and gameplay to develop - like support networks - purely because they used one of those characters in a previous and completely unrelated battle. It says they can be exchanged at "Bounty Society - Jaeger Supply", but I swear I have searched all the stores and the entirety of the map open to me at this point (I am on chapter 21-22) and cannot find any place where they can be exchanged for anything. This game crashes like every 90 seconds. Any time I try to do ANYTHING. If I’m lucky, I get through TWO battles between crashes. Sometimes I can roll on that railway/board game thing more than once. Sometimes I can level up a hero. Other times, I can’t even claim my reward from a completed quest without it crashing as the resources fly across the screen. It literally crashes more than Cyberpunk 2077 did at launch. I think for once it would run BETTER on an emulator like BlueStacks on my pc lol. Nothing runs better on that… but the performance of this is so bad, it couldn’t possibly be WORSE on that, surely? For reference, I’m pretty sure I bought the most recent iPod Touch about 3 years ago. I was surprised they even made a new one. They apparently hadn’t for years before this model, and probably haven’t made another in the last few years, either. I can’t even download iOS 16 at this point, so even the Match.com app isn’t compatible anymore lol. I’m stuck on like 15.8 so I understand if it’s not compatible… but please update the compatibility section if that is the case. Or make it more stable so I can play it. Or both lol. ### 2/5 — The game plays itself entirely *2024-07-07* I thought the concept was interesting but the face the only thing I get to is just do s crafts that pretty un engaging. Maybe i didn’t get far enough into the game. But Falcom needs to find a way to let users actually play instead on pressing only one command. A lot of mobile games have an auto mode that’s optional. No ability to grind for materials to let you level up your characters. A whole month in and the game still crashes like crazy for no reason, I haven’t gotten to see a whole match in arena because the game crashes. A severe difficulty issue that gatekeeps you from being able to make any progress with a lack of a way to improve your characters. Been playing every day since launch and at the point I’m in story the best team I can come up with is only half of the power that the enemy team is. This is not balanced at all and requires characters to be built up requiring getting lucky in the gacha system. And the micro transactions are numerous and you can trip over a branch without being reminded that this game wants you to spend money if you want to enjoy yourself. It is also an auto battler so there is little to no tactics outside of where you place characters then watch them do the work. Though that aspect is neat, doesn’t really do much to distinguish itself from other gachas. And I despise having rewards spread out across multiple dailies and screens. Never underestimate players. The reason why most players leave gacha games is when the tutorial lasts for more than 30 seconds and force them to follow while not being able to play. Falcom, shame on you for being so greedy to disrespect your own series and its fans. ### 1/5 — Such promise for a failing game *2024-06-08* To make this an AFK RPG instead of a tactics game was a huge mistake; there are MANY in the FEH and WOTV community that had high expectations for this debut from TOCS. This game is SUPER buggy on iOS, it won’t stay open more than five minutes without closing. It’s just sad to see, I was so excited for this game and I was looking forward to playing. The visuals are very nice, but it’s so unfortunate that the game doesn’t even work well enough to enjoy. Not to mention the shortest of the wars were chosen for this through an anime that already had poor reception overall. This game is likely to see an EOS faster than Tales of Luminaria, I fear. I really hope Falcom evaluates the potential they have to make a huge success in the gacha market and make an approach that their customer base can better enjoy. Lots of freebies but the app constantly closing unexpectedly is just too much. There are so many that want a good, consistent game for TOCS.
