Does exactly what it sets out to do (read the description) and does it flawlessly. If only all apps were like this one… ### 5/5 — Fantastic App *2019-03-29, version 2.10* I have tried many train time apps and this is by far the best I have come across. It’s so easy and intuitive, whenever I turn up at a station I open the app and the train times are presented. Once you have saved your favourite journeys they are all there and ordered by distance. Can’t believe this app is free, I would happily pay cold hard cash for it 😀 Almost forgot the app also features a tremendous Apple Watch app that gives you all the info you need quickly and clearly. Had a quick question for the developer and he got back in touch in a matter of minutes. Thanks very much it’s great. ### 5/5 — Commuter’s delight *2019-02-13, version 2.9* After my last favourite train app permanently stopped working I tried out a few alternatives. This one was by far the most user friendly and useful. Set it up to use location and as you enter/leave stations your favourite journey appears, great use of acreen acreage to view key information including delay details. The linkage with map functionality is fun. I use all the time now for my commute and wouldn’t look back. ### 5/5 — The best train times app *2018-11-29, version 2.9* I love this app. But there wasn’t enough favourites for me. I emailed the developer suggesting to add more. A week later the number of favourites has doubled. Awesome ### 5/5 — Perfect!!! *2018-04-22, version 2.5.2* This app is a god send! The best train app ever on iOS in my opinion. Simple interface, does exactly what you want it to, provides timely and up to date notifications. What I love: - Has an Apple Watch app! So useful that it actually just displayed your favourites front and Center with the next departure for the journey you probably make every day for work. - Keeps things simple and respects iOS design language for consistency. - The search function is quick and intuitive and makes find a connection a breeze. - Great that you can refresh times for accurate departure and delays info. What could be improved: - It would be great for favourite journeys to be collapsible. It already has the option to show more departures for that journey but sometimes I don’t need to see that far in advance and would find it easier to see all my favourites, tap on one and then journeys appear below it. - Tips! It’s amazing that the app is free and yet works so well and I’m so glad that it isn’t a subscription. Most people are sick to death of subscriptions. I’d love to be able to support the developer though. Perhaps a tips jar as an in app purchase? I’d love to help out the developer with running costs by sending a tip from time to time. Forget the other train apps that are full of cruft and difficult to navigate - this is really simple and easy to use. I get the train to work each morning and it’s quite often a pain to have to check which platform to go to but this sends you a notification as soon as you get there saying which platform to go. You basically add your train journeys as stationA to stationB. Ive found the app so simple for searching journeys I use it when at a station I dont normally frequent to find when the next train is due to my destination. This also contains an app for my watch too which is really handy for getting quick access to train times when sprinting to the station. This is definitely the train app to buy! Hopefully the developer brings more features to it without cluttering it too much. ### 5/5 — Excellent software from a great developer *2015-10-12, version 1.1.2* I don't usually write reviews for things but I seen this app and thought that it sounded like a great idea. I installed it and found that because I live close to a station, it was sending notifications when I was at home. I sent a message to the developer asking if there would be a way to reduce the radius -- not expecting a reply and was pleasantly surprised to get a reply back from the developer within 10 minutes. Better yet, he implemented the feature that I asked for that same day! I kid you not. I can't recommend this app and developer enough. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible *2022-12-18, version 4.2* Press the + button to add a favourite station and search for the station. Can’t find way to add station to list. No arrival time option available. Really dies need alot of work. Suggest you have a look at by train. Can’t see a planner in there either. ### 3/5 — Reliability down *2025-03-31, version 4.2* From today 31st March there seems to be a problem with the app, it is showing incorrect information on the services and destination. It is showing extra trains / extra stops. Really disappointing as this was always an ultimate reliable app that many times enabled me to get to the right train. ### 3/5 — Good app with watch but wrong platform data *2015-11-13, version 1.2.0* Nice simple interface. Alerts work but wrong platform data ### 5/5 — My favourite app *2026-01-22, version 4.2* Really really useful app. My fave Apple Watch app. One thing I would request is that when you lose signal, a common occurrence during rail travel, you still show previous data with a note that there’s no signal to update, rather than clearing all data and saying no signal. I guess that means a local cache of most recent data. There’s no need to discard the info I had before just because I lost signal. Because it means I can’t see something that I previously could, just bc I’m in a tunnel. Or my phone battery died. Stale data is better than no data imo. And get more PR. This is THE most useful Apple watch app. I can’t remember if I paid for this but I would pay £10 forever access. ### 5/5 — Great reliable way to help you get around by train *2025-04-12, version 4.2* There were problems with the app for a short period. All resolved now, getting accurate information from the app now, that helps you know what is happening with your trains, also gives an idea which platform the train is due to arrive at. Would strongly recommend for anyone using the UK trains. ### 5/5 — Really, really useful. *2024-12-26, version 4.2* Just started getting the train to and from work again. Just remembered how useful it was, so downloaded it again. Great for getting notifications on my watch rather than checking trains before I leave. Great automation for getting near a station and not overly complicated. Brilliant stuff. ### 5/5 — My favourite app *2024-05-06, version 4.2* I travel by rail a lot. I set up my favourite stations and journeys in this app, give it location access and as I approach one of my favourite stations it notifies me of the next train relevant to my favourite station x to station y journeys, the departure times, and platforms. I don’t need to look at boards in the station to find my train and platform. This app shows it to me all in advance, live updates, and bc I’ve set up my faves, It’s just finds my next train for me automatically. Amazing! And it has Apple Watch integration too which means I press a complication and see all the details on my wrist. And I can pin specific trains (time/destination/platform) to the top for easy access so if I don’t make the train I was hoping for I can make a back up plan and have it right there easy to see. And even without a plan, I approach the station, look at my watch and I instantly know the time and platform of my train departure. Amazing 👌🏻 this is also really good for when trains get cancelled and you need to replan your journey. Or if you just cba to plan your journey in the first place. It’s genuinely useful and not some crappy gimmick like most apps on here. Well done to the dev 🏆 ### 5/5 — Excellent Commuter App *2024-01-31, version 4.2* Train Home is a really useful app to view direct trains running on your chosen routes between two stations on one page. You can view the whole day worth of train departures if you wish. It is simple, no gimmicks and gives clear information of how your regular trains are running. I have been using it for a few years now and have not found a better one for my needs. Thanks you! ### 5/5 — One of the best apps out there *2023-10-16, version 4.2* Contrary to some of the negative reviews on here, this is an excellent app. In particular the predictive platform information is the best I’ve found (and I’ve tried a lot of apps). The push notifications for platforms as you arrive at the station are also really well implemented. Improvements I’d like to see are a way to save arrival platforms at one station (from a given starting point) and a widget would be great too. Spot on! First class! *2022-02-23, version 4.2* I don’t often write reviews unless something is awful or amazing to hell others save their time of find those truly amazing gems out there. Like others I’ve bought plenty of train apps. Something have good functionality but lack good apple watch functionality, others are too clunky to make worth using. Train home is the best! Let’s face it you want to know when your next train is…and from what platform! This app pops up with that exact info as you enter range of the station via a notification. It has the same info via one touch Apple Watch complication that has simple swipe to show your other fave stations. I use the main phone app a lot but it’s the simple watch integration that’s really amazing. No need to grab your phone, unlock it and give the app, just raise your wrist as you’re walking along and you’ll know what you need in a second. Hats for to the dev who replied within a few mins to a question I had…I was expecting a few days! Wasted £5 each time, when I could have got this for free. Just gets better with each update. Stumbled upon this application, it doesn't seem to show up when searching Apple store. I'm a train commuter and this application is amazing ! Love the watch application also. (Don't need to take my phone out of my pocket) And it's all very simple to use.
