### 3/5 — Just ok

*2025-11-16, version 3.10.0*

Got the 1 month sub. Maybe it’s my iPhone or it’s the way the whole content was shot, but the bottom part is cut off so I cannot see foot positions well

### 3/5 — Only portrait mode?

*2025-08-10, version 3.9.1*

Straight outta the box….

### 3/5 — Love the content but no support

*2024-08-07, version 3.6.2*

I recently tried to put my subscription on hold but am being told that my password is incorrect so I click on the link to reset it ( which I tried 5 times) no link received. Support finally got back to me after over 24 hours and sent me a new password that doesn’t work. I am now signed out of the app and can’t get back in.

### 3/5 — Menu plan not working

*2024-03-12, version 3.4.11*

I have yet to workout with the app but it already seems to not be working well:-( Nothing shows when I go to the “Menu Plan” area of app. I start workouts tomorrow fingers crossed it works.

### 2/5 — I feel there are better options

*2023-11-30, version 3.4.11*

I’m editing this review to say Plannk returned my $83.99 and I’m thankful for that.

I hate to say this because I have seen Joan a lot on Instagram and she’s so sincere. But I’m doing the exercises and so often 1/2 the body, Joan’s or I guess Michelle’s, is not shown. I’m not sure what the arms and legs are doing. I can see their head and their behind and the wall. The photographer! What are they thinking? Or it’s a tripod and they don’t want to redo it so the entire body shows. It’s very frustrating. If I could have previewed this, I would not have purchased it. As it is, I bought a year on a Black Friday sale so I’m going to keep trying it. I can use the exercises and look them up somewhere to see if I’m doing it right. When they say you can cancel, yes, you can cancel Next Year. Not the current year.

### 2/5 — Without soul

*2023-09-14, version 3.4.7*

I feel a bit like I’m in robot land. Short reels (videos) of 5-10 seconds per exercise, repeated over and over and over. No countdown for how many reps you’ve done. No encouragement, no ‘you can do this’. No tips from the presenter about things to bear in mind whilst you’re doing it. Just the relentless short robot clips saying what to do, and a ‘click here’ for tips. Feels more suited to younger folk who use Instagram reels. Not the demographic of older women drawn to working with Joan. I feel duped. No wonder they don’t let you look around before you sign up.
I prefer human classes with a teacher out front connecting with us, explaining things, and encouraging. I’m leaving after the first month’s (pricey) subscription is up.
On the positive side, the layout and graphics are attractive. And it gives a simple, low choice, way forward.

### 4/5 — Repetitive Instruction

*2023-08-27, version 3.4.6*

I love the app, the exercises and menu/recipes. The only issue I have is the repetitive instructions. It repeats about every 5 seconds until the workout is over and you hit the arrow for next workout. I do hit pause, but I really don’t like to, it helps me to follow along with the exercise. I don’t why it drives me nuts, but it does. The other issue is the reps don’t seem to be right when you’re working as or legs. There are 3 reps then goes on to next exercise. Maybe do 4 reps, 2 on each side? Or am I supposed to do both legs then rest then both legs again on next rep? Kind of hard to follow on certain exercise days.

### 2/5 — Disappointing

*2023-05-28, version 3.3.3*

Joan’s story is so inspiring but the app is not. Not only is it glitchy but there is no intro to the workouts or any guidance on how to perform them—for example, how to breathe properly during weight training exercises, how to alter the exercises according to age and fitness level. I will be requesting a refund.

### 4/5 — Help

*2023-02-13, version 3.3.0*

I signed up for the annual membership on 2/3rd and now I am being charged again for the challenge that starts tomorrow and it says I only have an hour to sign up. Please tell me it’s not true that I must pay again. I am enjoying Joan and Michelle’s workouts.

Thanx

### 1/5 — So far, a disaster!

*2023-02-10, version 3.3.0*

Update: It’s now letting me in and working. I have no idea why since I didn’t do anything different, but I’m glad.😊

Original review: I signed up for the 6 Week Challenge and that includes the app during that time. I gave my email, created a password, and paid $49 to join the challenge. Now the app won’t let me sign in. First it says either my email or password is incorrect. When I try to put my email back in, it says that email is already used. If I select change my password, it then says my email doesn’t exist. Either make it work or give my money back!!! Sheesh!!! I’m out almost $50 and I get nothing for it!

### 1/5 — How to cancel subscription can’t find it any were !!!

*2023-01-11, version 3.2.14*

How do I cancel my subscription please. ASAP !!! Can’t find any help any were !!

### 1/5 — Not worth the price

*2022-12-28, version 3.2.14*

I was so inspired by Joan’s story and believed I could move through my physical limitations, because if she did it, so could I. However, her Limited Range of Motion program has you do
jumping Jacks for 10 minutes for a warm up. WTH? To make matters worse, there’s no variety, day after day, it’s the same warm-up played in a continuous loop with the same audio playing over and over for 10 minutes.
Ok, the warm up aside- on a different exercise, we’re to lie prone, with a dumbbell placed between our feet to do a hamstring curl. This exercise is virtually impossible to do by oneself. I don’t know how the dumbbell is supposed to remain upright and how to not knock it down as you try to position your feet around it. It would be nice to see how she actually managed to do it. I wound up knocking it on its side and damaging my floor.
I also feel the app itself is archaic and clumsily pieces videos together, as you have to constantly stop, hit next in between each exercise and wait time. I expected much more for the $119 or at least a partial refund. The exercises were not appropriate for my particular range of motion problems. There are other much better, smoother operating apps that include live virtual classes and Q/A with instructors for less money. I’m saddened I wanted to embark on my fitness journey with Joan, but her refund policy shows she’s not genuinely supportive to her followers.

### 4/5 — App is very glitchy

*2022-12-16, version 3.2.14*

This is hard to review. The app has glitches galore. I love Joan and she’s so inspirational to me. Anytime you see the daughter you can be sure it’s time for showboating. I’ve used the app from limited range of motion (what is that?!) to beginner. Both are very challenging, but when you see Michelle doing an exercise it always feels advanced-disheartening to a beginner. I think she’s too far along the training journey to even remember what beginner looks like. Stay out and just give us Joan and truly beginner exercises. Also routines do get boring at the end as they are all very similar. Stated as 50 min routines, but often takes longer. Love Joan but the rest needs work. I will check out other apps when my subscription is up and not sure if I’ll return.

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2022-11-28, version 3.2.13*

This app has too many bugs. I purchased it and it didn’t install properly. They instructed me to remove it and put the app in again which I did, but it would not go on again without me submitting another payment. I don’t have time for this I have requested a refund.

### 2/5 — Can’t even try out one for free

*2022-10-21, version 3.2.10*

They need to at least give you ONE free workout to try out before starting to charge you. Sorry but not going to shell out $ for something I have no idea if I will like. Even the most basic gym gives you a free trial.
Thank you for reaching out but I still believe there should be one free workout before committing. That’s all I would be interested in.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot log in after starting free trial

*2026-06-07, version 3.11.0*

I signed up for the free trial and tried to create an account, and my password was not recognized after. I changed my password twice and still cannot login. I don’t see any information in the subscription email as to how to cancel the subscription before I get charged. When I clicked contact support from the login screen a weird message about Apple Intelligence popped up and then an email window opened that shared details about my iphone. I just want to cancel this.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-09-03, version 3.9.1*

Just signed up for free trial and can’t even open app to begin. Is this what I signed up for???

### 1/5 — Didn’t live up to expectations

*2024-03-12, version 3.4.11*

The app can be glitchy (frozen video) at times but the content is my real issue.

While there are several levels to choose from (limited range of motion, beginner at home etc.) there are no modifications or substitutions for an exercise within the workout.

There is no mention of what to do if something doesn’t feel right in your body (pinching or joint pain) or help on how to make an exercise work for limitations.

Plankk was not at all helpful in answering any specific questions.

The Joan challenge I paid extra for was nonsense. Unrealistic food plan that didn’t make sense (not complete meals, individual foods, entirely macro-focused).

### 1/5 — Not what I was expecting

*2024-01-14, version 3.4.11*

I enjoy following Joan on Instagram and decided to try her app. Unfortunately, it has two major flaws. First, you can’t just play and follow the exercise programs. The short videos demonstrate each exercise, but you have to press continue to move to the next exercise and do all the reps on your own. There are free YouTube videos that are more to my liking. Second, you cannot enter and track your meals like you can with MyFitnessPal. It seems that the meal plan has you eat the same foods every day for a week. Not good. Help is not very good, either. I admire Joan, but think twice before buying the non-redeemable app.

### 1/5 — App Needs More Testing Before Production

*2023-12-11, version 3.4.11*

The intent of this app is good but is very glitchy - seems as if the app is trying to do too much. Multiple people are having the same issues. Some issues are of basic features that should be caught if tested properly. I had the same issues as the other reviewers…a couple of issues from reviewers from over a year ago! It’s time consuming for users to have to help troubleshoot and if multiple user are reporting the same issue, maybe a quality control process would be helpful. I would pay for monthly or annual membership if the platform app was better. In my opinion, the app does not represent the quality that Joan and Michelle live.

And I have tried to cancel the subscription yet it is still trying to renew and charge me.

### 1/5 — Rip off don’t sign up

*2023-09-10, version 3.4.7*

They take you money and don’t provide instructions on how to cancel your subscription…rip off

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2023-06-15, version 3.3.3*

I love Joan’s social media and was excited to join her challenge. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with this app.

I would say that the exercise component was the biggest disappointment. I was expecting to be blown away but I found the repetitive steps to be very annoying. I was expecting actual recorded training or class videos, not little snippets I had to navigate through.

I also was not thrilled with the meal plan, it was very repetitive and requires a lot of manual adjustment to make it interesting or to accommodate certain dietary needs.

### 1/5 — Not one free class?

*2023-04-27, version 3.3.3*

I’m Very interested, but you must pay. No free trial, not even a single class. Not right.

### 1/5 — Disappointed to say the least

*2023-02-23, version 3.3.1*

Having paid £41.50 for the Love Yourself Challenge, on top of monthly subscription of £17.49, I am now unable to access unless I pay another £17.49. Beyond disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 67 and feel great

*2026-03-31, version 3.11.0*

I am on my 48th workout and love the app and the workouts. It is everything I had hoped for. Joan inspires me to keep going.

### 5/5 — Questions

*2023-08-13, version 3.4.6*

Hello, keen to join but want to know whether the problems in previous reviews have been sorted? Does the app still shut down ? Mid exercise?

### 5/5 — Found It!

*2023-01-27, version 3.2.16*

I actually found a workout app for a good guidance on weight training & nutrition but did not know how to begin. I stumbled upon Joan’s Instagram page & thought what do I have to lose. Even though I have only done a total of 10 workouts I feel it is suitable for me. Only issue is, the community support was great, but now when I tap on it my screen goes completely black. Otherwise I highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Women Building Strong Bodies

*2022-11-15, version 3.2.10*

This APP is amazing. It is everything you need to know to transform your body, build muscle, increase strength, reset your mind and learn how to fuel your body through nutrition. You can do it at home with just a couple dumbells and fitness bands. No crazy jumping and feeling like you will passout. You can choose your fitness level and just keep progressing. Joan is such an inspiration and like she says "if she can do it, you can do it"!

### 5/5 — Workouts

*2022-06-22, version 1.0.16*

Great workouts! I have been very sore and can tell they are working

### 5/5 — Love these challenging workouts

*2022-01-26, version 1.0.12*

I’ve been doing these workouts for 12 weeks, the muscle tone is awesome. I’m 71 & starting my second round of the intermediate 12-week cycle! Highly recommend this app & you need to be self-disciplined to keep going! I do a prior 20-30 yoga workout for better stretches. Enjoy!

### 5/5 — Inspiring!

*2022-01-13, version 1.0.11*

Working out with Joan is joyful and motivating!

### 5/5 — Regaining My Health

*2021-11-10, version 1.0.11*

I had worked out regularly with a personal trainer at a gym on a weekly basis and then the Covid pandemic hit. I’ve not set foot into a gym for almost two years and was looking for an app to get me back to working out. I love this app because Joan and I are in the same age group and I can work out from home with some weights and bands. I combine it with a one mile walk and feel great. My goal at the very least is to have arms like Joan.

### 5/5 — Joan makes this easy!

*2021-10-06, version 1.0.11*

No matter what your age or weight is you can follow this workout. I should not say easy…it is a challenge for me to start this at 55 but I look forward to slimming down and being more agile. I am not able to do them all just like Joan but I do the best I can and I believe it will come in due time.

### 5/5 — Frustrating! Update- great!

*2021-10-02, version 1.0.10*

The reset your password link does not work. It says it has sent a link and the link never appears.
Update to my review: customer support was responsive and addressed the issue. I am now using the app and really like the workouts and the recipes
