### 2/5 — So so bad do not Buy

*2026-04-30, version 0.4.35*

I have had the app for a while now. I am currently training as an Australian junior Triathlete and as it was a cheaper option I decided to use it. It has been so bad. It needs updates every 2-3 days. The graphics are poor and when you just want to go and ride it’s the worst. It lags every now and then and it’s just disappointing. I was riding today when I click the u turn button in the ride it logs me out. No saving of the workout no nothing and it says I need to update the app and when your 80ks into a virtual ride you would be pretty peeved of. I don’t know how you would fix these things but it’s just disappointing on what I would expect from an overall good brand.

### 2/5 — Only Useable on Newest Hardware

*2026-03-25*

This app only really works on the newest of hardware with lightning fast internet. If I run it only my M4 pro MBP right next to my router, this is a great app, any other hardware, anywhere else in my house it's useless. Why does app need 4 down/loading screens before game play in 2026? And the downloading content screen before you can even get to a menu can take half an hour or more if you don't have super fast internet.... and it won't download in the background if you leave the app. Navigating the menus on anything other than a computer with mouse is also dreadful. On my phone the buttons are too small, it's just a scaled down version on the desktop app, and on my apple tv, it can take minutes to figure out the incantation of swipes necessary to get the right button highlighted to do anything. I really wish this app was better, I don't like paying for TP premium and zwift, but I might have to go back to it, because I can't spend 45 minutes just getting set up for a ride, to only to then have a laggy, low framerate (< 1fps) experience.

### 3/5 — NEED PAUSE

*2026-01-23*

Come on you have to be able to pause your ride. It would be nice Laos to be able to drag back and forth on the ride. With Royve I can do the same hill 3 times by going back on the ride with simple finger drag. Also, the data screen is so small not customizable. Make it more user friendly. I don’t want to have to press 5 buttons to end my workout.

### 2/5 — Drop outs n daily updates

*2026-01-18, version 0.4.33*

Came over after zwift increased pricing. In theory this should be so good, free with TP a lot of cyclist already have. The function is full of drop outs, won’t pair some days with trainer so use PM and still drop outs. Have run head unit to check if trainer or iPad causing issues and works flawless. Zwift still works great. Get your ish together TP, it’s 2026 no excuses for poor dev.

### 3/5 — Visual Quality Poor, Glitches ALL the time. Needs attention.

*2026-01-17, version 0.4.33*

Over 3 out of 5. Zwift works perfect and this just glitches all the time. Also the Apple Remote doesn’t do the job trying to changing things, again due to the glitches.

### 4/5 — Good but room for improvement

*2026-01-10, version 0.4.32*

Overall a very good app which does the job of allowing me to do the preprogrammed workouts from training peaks. Only real areas for improvement are:

1. The curved corners of an iPhone means some information isn’t visible so could do with shifting slightly.
2. Change zen mode so that instead of the normal view with a blank screen it enlarges everything so looks similar to TrainerDay/TrainerRoad.
3. Integrate with Apple health so workouts are added automatically.

### 2/5 — More expensive than swift

*2025-11-19, version 0.4.30*

So I was using this last year when it was free and thought it was good. I like the wind, cornering etc but found the routes limited. After looking at subscription price at £19,99 I’m off back to Zwift. Shame really as I think you’d get more subscribers at £12,99 which is where I think this app is.

### 3/5 — Not very intuitive

*2025-11-12*

Has a lot of potential but interface needs to be cleaned up and simplified. Increasing/decreasing watts isn’t on main screen and sometimes requires multiple taps to pull up the menu. Too cluttered. Several times app didn’t respond when starting to pedal after stopping. Had to stop again and restart pedaling to get the app to start recording.

### 3/5 — Auto updates???

*2025-10-31, version 0.4.30*

Don’t like updating through App Store every week. Auto updates???? Please????

### 2/5 — Don’t switch apps while using

*2025-09-22, version 0.4.28*

App itself is decent, although it lacks some of the bells and whistles of Zwift. Unfortunately the Achilles Heel is that if you’re running it on your phone an switch over to another app, it will often crash and won’t record the rest of your workout. So don’t read that email that just came in, if you value your data!

### 4/5 — Like Zwift but for grown ups

*2025-09-10, version 0.4.28*

Does everything you need if you’re a Training Peaks user and you want a bit of distraction from the mind numbing dullness of a hard Winford workout. Interacts well with TP and most encouraging is the regularity of new releases. If you want to Zwift without selling a kidney, and if you don’t miss “racing” with 80w/kg liars, then this is going to be perfect. Does the job, none of the gaming daftness.

### 3/5 — Trainings not recording properly

*2025-08-18, version 0.4.26*

During my workouts training peaks is basically recording only half of my training

### 3/5 — Auto updates???

*2025-08-02, version 0.4.26*

Don’t like updating through App Store every week.

### 3/5 — Can’t calibrate trainer since latest update

*2025-08-02, version 0.4.26*

Never had an issue before but the option seems to have disappeared.

### 4/5 — Updates

*2025-08-01, version 0.4.26*

The update that was pushed 4 hours ago is mandatory. That’s a delay in starting my training. Please warn users of mandatory updates

### 4/5 — Great App - Currently has an issue with battery drain

*2025-07-01*

I wanted to report this through the bug report feature, but it’s disabled for this app. The app itself functions perfectly when I use it, but it rapidly drains the battery of my iPad when minimized/idle afterwards.

There is a workaround in that I can force-close it after I’m done working out, but if I forget, then it is guaranteed to deplete my battery.

Otherwise, fantastic app! When my issue is resolved, I will upgrade my score to 5 stars.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Who hires these developers?

*2026-08-08*

This is a serious question. I see errors in here that were figured out through repositories 10 years ago. The interface is abysmal! Not allowing for direct sync with known usernames and passwords in the Apple ecosystem enforcing a button click per character for logins, that aren’t remembered, is 10 year old level coding. When I say 10 years old, that’s the age of the developer these days that have figured that out

### 1/5 — Good when it works

*2026-04-25, version 0.4.35*

Too many times it complains about network issues, anti-virus, firewalls etc. Currently it’s blocking me on iPad, iPhone MacOS and PC - looks like an IP blocking issue as it works through VPN. Support just send automated replies saying they’re busy. Not a great advert for the service if they can’t keep up with the number of faults reported. Quick to take your money, slow to fix things.
In short it’s good when it works but too often it’s flaky.

### 1/5 — I wanted to love this

*2026-03-12, version 0.4.34*

Sorry buts it’s like playing on a master system from the 90’s. The quality of the image is really poor on iPads. Until that is improved I’m not going to be using it which is a shame as a subscriber to TP.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2026-01-31, version 0.4.33*

Love the TP training app, but this virtual app is practically unusable. Very buggy and frustrating to use, compared to Zwift, Rouvy, and Fulgaz. I’ll try back in another year and see if it’s improved.

### 1/5 — App is stuck in sideways mode

*2026-01-23, version 0.4.33*

I just wanted to get this app downloaded and set up for later use. It is stuck in the sideways mode on my phone and there’s no integration with my password manager. I’m supposed to type in a ridiculously long username and password in this tiny little field with a sideways keyboard. Ugh.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2025-12-10, version 0.4.30*

Menu buttons would not disappear on the app, spent the whole workout, looking at 18 button tiles instead of my avatar

Also loses connection to the server if you put it on pause for very long, or temporarily switch to another app. I don’t lose your workout and you have to start all over again.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2025-12-05, version 0.4.30*

Menu buttons would not disappear on the app, spent the whole workout, looking at 18 button tiles instead of my avatar

### 1/5 — Logging in

*2025-07-19, version 0.4.25*

Using Apple TV it will not let me log in so gone back to Strava. Useless

### 1/5 — This app is unusual on apple tv

*2025-06-12, version 0.4.24*

What the title says. The menu is so glitchy I can’t select anything to set up my account much less do a ride.

### 1/5 — Unworkable waste of time due to input issues

*2025-06-01, version 0.4.24*

Absolutely unworkable on iPhone and Apple TV. So clunky I literally can’t input data or select options. Waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Realistic Indoor Training

*2025-12-25*

As opposed to the other cartoon world platform with racing loaded with cheats, TPV is a breath of fresh air. It has great built in anti-cheat tools for racing events, custom kits, custom courses, distances, can race against bots that match your ability, the list goes on and on. Every update it takes a massive leap forward, mainly with updates suggested by the users (again unlike that other platform). Give it a go if you want your training to be more realistic and match your goals for outdoors.

### 5/5 — Great Zwift alternative

*2025-11-17, version 0.4.30*

Good Zwift alternative for much lower price

### 5/5 — Great road feel & display stats

*2025-10-24*

So far I am really liking this virtual ride platform. The visible stats are better than Zwift. I will give Zwift the win in graphics and social functions. However the mimicking of a road feel is much better in this app vs Zwift. A lot better workouts as well. May be saying goodbye to Zwift

### 5/5 — Team Workout Folder

*2025-10-22*

I love the app, thanks for providing an outstanding virtual cycling experience.

In the future, would it be possible for my team members to have access to a ‘team workout folder’ that I create for my team.

Thanks.

### 5/5 — Really good

*2025-10-13, version 0.4.28*

Frankly, I feel like this app is more responsive than Zwift.

### 5/5 — Vast improvement

*2025-08-01*

I hired a coach to help me with rehab from a bad crash in race, to build fitness and improve my race craft. I had been using Zwift but I couldn’t figure out how to do my workouts feeling the terrain of the course and environmental conditions. I Switched over and applying my workouts to the course closely replicating the next race. It’s helped unlock some more race pace and confidence.

### 5/5 — Enjoying the App

*2025-05-13*

I enjoy using the app for training but for some reason it no longer will let me screen mirror from my phone to my TV. When I first started using the app, it worked fine. Everything else on my phone will show up on the tv except for TPV.

### 5/5 — Training peaks

*2025-04-13, version 0.4.21*

Favorite way to train ever

### 5/5 — Works well

*2025-03-26*

I’ve been a Zwift user for years but decided to try this because I already use TP and was generally frustrated with Zwift’s basic functionality at a premium price. For me, this app does everything Zwift does and I’m comfortable moving all my IM training over here.

### 5/5 — Great bolt on to TrainingPeaks

*2025-03-18, version 0.4.17*

Ok it’s not Zwift but for anyone using TrainingPeaks to shape their training it’s a great add on which comes with the package and it does the job and can be accessed from the training calendar, automatically picking up any scheduled workouts. Not quite the social event of a Zwift session but numbers mare growing and the app is being frequently updated none the platform has its new owners.
No compatibility or performance issues with the app to date. Unfortunately it doesn’t update Garmin Connect which is apparently a Garmin thing not TP. It does update and synch with TrainerRoad.
Hope it continues to develop and grow in this vein, whilst remaining affordable, meantime Zwift sub is paused!
