## What is Trainiq Pro?

We love iPhone. We live iPhone. And we have since 2008. Trainiq is strength training, cardio, and nutrition built to match your standards — created by people who train themselves.

Trainiq is the training app we always wanted for ourselves. Editorially designed, uncompromisingly built around Apple's platform, developed by people who count sets, know what plateaus feel like, and understand why clean technique matters more than the last kilo on the bar.

Built by athletes for athletes. Every decision was made in the gym, not in a meeting room. It gets better every day because we use it ourselves — during deadlifts, bench presses, and those tired Wednesday evenings after a long week.

Full Apple stack. No workarounds.

— Apple Watch: check off sets, adjust weight, control rest timers. Cardio with live heart rate, pace, zones, and a dedicated watch face.
— Live Activities & Dynamic Island: workouts and rest timers always visible.
— Apple Health: every workout saved as a real workout with effort ratings and heart rate data.
— HealthKit: HRV, sleep, resting heart rate — combined into a fitness status score on your home screen.
— Apple Music: AI-curated playlists, BPM mode for cardio.
— Game Center: achievements and leaderboards without annoying pop-ups.
— Widgets and complications: everything iPhone and Apple Watch can do today.

What Trainiq is.

Strength training with custom-built plans — created manually or imported from photos. Multiple set types: working sets, warm-up sets, AMRAP, drop sets, rest-pause sets, supersets. Personal notes for each exercise across all plans. Rest timer with Watch sync.

Cardio with live tracking, heart rate zones, GPS routes, and auto-pause when you stop moving.

Nutrition with daily summaries, calorie and macro tracking, hydration reminders, and a nutrition coach that knows your daily goals and your training.

Community with global and friends leaderboards, achievements, volume comparisons, and streaks.

Statistics with real depth — plus share cards for after your workouts.

Features you won't find anywhere else.

— Sound that evolves with you. Describe your mood — *"heavy leg day"* or *"finally feeling strong again"* — and our AI coach curates a playlist for you from the Apple Music catalog. Not a generic mix. A soundtrack for that workout.

— BPM Music. A separate playlist for every heart rate zone — relaxed in Zone 2, all-out in Zone 5. Trainiq measures your heart rate live and switches music automatically when your zone changes.

— Running weather. Temperature, precipitation, and wind at a glance. You immediately know whether today is the right day to head outside.

— Photo import. Training plan on paper, PDF, or screenshot? Trainiq recognizes it and turns it into a working digital plan.

— An AI coach that knows your last 14 days of training. Based on your actual workload — not a textbook.

No advertising network. No tracking. No user account. Trainiq stores your data locally on your iPhone. Period. iCloud backup is optional — through your own iCloud account.

Trainiq is a love letter to the platform we live on. And to the discipline through which we challenge ourselves.

### 5/5 — My new favorite workout app

I’ve been following the app’s development through TestFlight via Reddit for quite a while, and I was genuinely surprised by how quickly the developer responded to ideas and feature requests, and how frequently new features were added.

You can really tell that the concept of a training app has been rethought from the ground up, and that approach works incredibly well. I’m genuinely impressed — please keep it up 👍🏻

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.4 — 2026-06-17

Hey,
vacation season is around the corner, and the hotel gym is usually a sad affair: three adjustable dumbbells, an elliptical from 2009, and not a shred of WiFi. That's exactly what this update is for.

New:
1. Hotel mode: No signal at the hotel or on the beach? Doesn't matter. You can still view your exercises and swap them for whatever's actually lying around. No more blank screen just because "Lobby_Guest_2" is acting up again.
2. Negative tempo during training: When editing a set, you can now pick the eccentric seconds directly — not just beforehand in the plan.
Fixed (a.k.a. things that annoyed me too):
3. Cardio exercises were buried at the bottom when adding them — now there's a dedicated "Cardio" tab up top, and the names are finally translated instead of stubbornly German.
4. The rest timer on the lock screen no longer freezes like a cocktail at the pool bar.
5. Bilateral exercises were multiplying like towels on loungers — not anymore. And the rest comes at the right time: left, right, then rest.
6. The plate calculator kept its result to itself — now the weight lands straight in the set, on iPhone and Watch.
7. When you swap or jump to a different exercise, the Watch and Live Activity now move along instantly instead of waking up at the next set.
8. The set feedback prompt (easy/perfect/hard/failed) could be turned off but still showed up — persistent little thing. Now it stays gone. And it was still entirely German, now translated.

Get after it, even on vacation. But don't overdo it — the Coach is up for a break at the bar too.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-05-30

What's new in 1.0.4:

Push Music used to take a full 10 seconds before it actually started playing — which is rough when you're mid-set and the room just goes quiet. Now the first song kicks in instantly, the rest loads in the background.

The Live Activity on the lock screen was hiding weight and reps for "ascending" sets — pretty useless given that's exactly the info you want to see right then. Fixed.

The "CURRENT EXERCISE" banner was sitting in the middle of the screen on some iPhones instead of pinned to the bottom where it belongs. Looks normal again.

The top of the Cardio tab used to be this weird hybrid hero, half weather half run plan, that mostly just confused people. Now it's clean weather up top, the run plan sits below where it belongs.

Run plan progress was broken: it only counted elapsed time, not your actual runs. Now it counts your real runs from the Health app.

The streak counter in the widget was broken too: it counted consecutive calendar days instead of workouts, so on a normal split (Mon/Wed/Fri etc.) you could never get past 1. Now it counts workouts in a row — up to 3 rest days between two workouts are fine.

The Coach was missing an "Alternatives" button after meal recommendations — a lot of people didn't realize they could just ask for other options. Now the button is right there every time. And alternatives come back as a clean list instead of a wall of bullet points.

Anonymous usage analytics are on by default starting with this version. This helps me see which exercises you create yourself that we don't yet have instructions or images for. No user IDs, no workout data, no IDFA — switchable off in the settings anytime, with a detailed breakdown of what goes out and what doesn't.

Plus a small typo fix on the Pro upgrade screen.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-05-28

Cardio finally looks the way it should: there's a new Hero card with an hourly weather forecast, so you don’t have to step outside just to find out you're about to get completely soaked. For every hour you can see temperature, wind, and chance of rain.

Cycle tracking is in — and it works the way you'd expect from a training app. Trainiq reads your cycle data from Apple Health (you need to explicitly grant permission, otherwise nothing happens) and displays your cycle day and phase next to your Recovery Score. Why this is useful: lower HRV and a slightly elevated resting heart rate during menstruation or the luteal phase are biologically normal — if you can see these phases, you'll understand that a lower Recovery Score doesn't automatically mean you're sick or overtrained. On the other hand: during the follicular phase and around ovulation, peak performance is common — often great days for intense strength training. The coach also knows your current phase, but it won't bring it up unprompted. It's completely optional, double-gated, with no pop-ups, no reminders, and no "take it easy today" messaging. Just data that helps you put your numbers into context.

Statistics now has a new "At a Glance" section at the top with your most important numbers from the last 30 days.

Trainiq now also speaks English and mostly Spanish. If your app runs in English, the coach will respond in English too — previously that wasn't the case, and it was pretty annoying for international users.

Plus: workouts are now saved to Apple Health much more reliably. There used to be a silent bug that swallowed around 85% of HealthKit saves if you swiped away the Effort Rating instead of tapping it. Honestly feels like a new feature.
