Often there are details that just need to be seen in greater detail. This is one area where the app could outperform print, if only the feature was enabled like it is on most news apps. I see some negative reviews from five or six years ago, but as of 2026, it seems that most of those complaints have been addressed. If only the photos could be presented in a more usable format, the app would be so much better. ### 1/5 — So why can’t I access….. *2026-07-24* I’m trying to access my digital Sept issue because there is no hard copy. No luck. The website wants me to upgrade to a “super member” status or pay $49 to some web site company to fix my problem. Not gonna happen like me not renewing my subscription after having received TRAINS since 1964 off this isn’t corrected. ### 3/5 — Needs work *2023-09-03* Once the issue is loaded all is good. Now it just won’t even open. ### 1/5 — Dissatisfied *2022-10-28, version 7.0.3* 3 articles for over $40.00. Going to their site and registering for the trial period is just the same. It also is a rip off considering once you go through the process of submitting your information you can’t enter the site as described. I even used my alternate email and once again it Indicated my log in information was incorrect. I wrote it down to make sure I was submitting the correct ID and Password but once again it was rejected when trying to log in. I will delete this app and go elsewhere for train related content sites. ### 1/5 — No new issues *2022-05-06* April is the last issue available, no May or June issues available despite subscription. Fix this now please, as there are paid subscriptions that are not being fulfilled. ### 1/5 — How to reset a password *2021-09-29* I can no longer use my app to purchase issues, it will not take my password and there’s nowhere to reset my password on the app? ### 1/5 — Used to be great, it’s ruined now *2020-05-10* This app used to be perfect. The interface was perfect. The new look of the latest version is sluggish and slow (even on my iPhone x) and I cannot log in to restore my issues or get new ones. I was on the Southwest Chief this week and could not access one thing to read because of this. Please revert back to a functional and better looking and far more useful app with actual offline storage. One star is WAY too generous, but it’s the lowest rating I was allowed to give. It’s not worth even that. JUST REVERT TO THE OLD APP, ROLL BACK AND TRASH THIS CRAPPY REGRESSION. ### 1/5 — No longer works *2020-03-29* All I see when I load the app is a photo of a train and a sunset in the background.
