I needed help to get started as I didn't know that I had to prevent my iPhone going to sleep while I needed to download files to make it work. But the creator intervened when I tried to get a refund and promptly provided advice on getting started - well done for good support. It's now working as advertised so worth the price. A total waste of money. If the app is translating something and you click the button again, then it translates over itself. It’s funny if you do it three consecutive times. There’s no pause or stop button to stop the translation. Where’s the dictionary and phrasebook? There’s no in-app support tab. If you press, “App support” in the App Store in the app’s description, then it takes you to a web page that says, “Bad Request”. You’d be better off using the Google translator, or equivalent, for FREE. If the developer actually reads this. It can do simple English to Italian translation. More complex sentences came out awkwardly. It could not translate Italian to English. The voice input worked sporadically. The function for taking pictures of signs and translating never worked. If you don't want to be laughed at by an Italian, don't use it. Its the only offline translator I can find and it does ok at translating 1 word at a time.. not sentences. that's the only reason I'll give it 1 star. ### 1/5 — Inaccurate *2012-07-31* A test for a simple phrase was literally translated word for word but missed the context and lead to a scrambled and useless translation. Eg "use" can be a verb or a noun, we got the wrong one! can't say I'm happy to have bought this, let's hope the upgrades arrive and fix the problem. ### 1/5 — Terrible! *2012-06-15, version 1.0.4* Are you serious? The first Italian sentence that I entered was horribly butchered! Example: it chose "to demo" instead of "to see", with a conjugated form. No, I don't think anyone speaks this way. Now using it to help with pronunciation in a small group learning Italian. ### 5/5 — Superb *2020-01-23* Simply the best in the field. Translates correctly, I can tell. And with fine sense of humor when it comes to public places’ names: Santa Susanna church on the map of Rome was translated as Santa Claus church!😄. The app is perfect in every way, I can’t believe the technology has gone so far. One can even speak instead of typing! What else do you need when in Italy! Perhaps some money. Few words to creators of this app. Gentlemen, thank you so very much for this advanced, practical and inexpensive help to the travelers.
