It would have been a huge help in navigating through a city where you don't speak the language. Plus, the app is simple, straightforward, and easy to use. The upgraded mic feature is incredibly accurate...and you get free mic use every 12 hours if you don't want to pay the extra $! If you are going to make people pay for more than two uses, it should be accurate enough to recognize what is being said on the first try! This thing cannot recognize A WORD of Japanese. I got it while I was in Germany and called a great aunt in Stuttgart who spoke Schwabishe Deutsch. Yikes! I can barely speak Hoch Deutsch, which is quite different than her southern dialect. Anyway, translator voice to voice enabled us to communicate. I also use it to translate text. And from Spanish to English & vise versa. Generally extremely accurate.
