## What is Transruler free?

Transruler is an app to understand, display and play various musical scales. Transruler makes transposition easy.

Transruler provides three rulers. The middle ruler contains all tones and semitones. The top and bottom ruler can each display a selectable scale. You can move each ruler and set the key note independently.

You can play a single note by tapping once. A double tap on a scale ruler plays all notes in this scale. Double tap on the note ruler plays one octave.

This all helps to visualize and learn the relationship between different scales and/or keys.

This free version of Transruler displays an ad banner and just contains the Major, Minor and Blues scale.

After purchasing an instrument or the editor Transruler free hides the ad banner and enables the following scales:

- Major
- Major (Pentatonic)
- Minor
- Minor (Pentatonic)
- Minor (Harmonic)
- Minor (Melodic)
- Blues Minor
- Blues Major
- Gypsy Major
- Gypsy Minor
- Ionian
- Dorian
- Phrygian
- Lydian
- Mixolydian
- Aeolian

### 1/5 — Used to work but now crashes at every opening. Please fix!

*2025-04-18*

Crashes at every opening

### 1/5 — Needs in-app instructions.

*2020-01-30, version 3.0*

This looks interesting but I can’t figure out how it works. There is a reference to a “store” but how do I get there and what is there to buy?
Crashes every time I tap the write icon. What is that supposed to do?
How to I get to the minor pentatonic scale?
There is a start here to something interesting. Now go back and finish it.

### 1/5 — Was this app developped as a grade 1 summer school project?

*2019-01-08, version 3.0*

Useless

### 5/5 — Works with OS 8

*2014-12-05*

This is working fine with the latest OS for iPhone 4S. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Fix please- won't launch

*2014-06-08, version 2.1*

Looks really useful but always crashes. Please fix this.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2014-05-18, version 2.1*

The first time I download this, it doesn't even open...all it does is crash which means it needs to be fixed

### 1/5 — Crashes on iphone 5s

*2014-04-03*

Deleting now.

### 1/5 — Won't load, pretty hopeless

*2014-03-25, version 2.1*

Used to work now doesn't. Apple needs a mechanism to remove apps like this, what is the point in having it available. Damages reputation of the App Store. No stars but has to have at least one to post review...

### 3/5 — Great...... when it works.

*2014-03-18, version 2.1*

Like all other reviewers I had trouble launching this app, but actually it works brilliantly on my old iPhone and its great.

Not updating this app to ios7 is a serious oversight as i would willingly pay for this to work on an Ipad.

Original review follows.

Won't start up. Crashes every launch.

### 1/5 — No stars - useless - won't start

*2014-03-16, version 2.1*

App crashes every time it is asked to open. Apple is this a bona fide app? It is so bad I am concerned that it has even been loaded on to my iPad.

Having said this, the concept promised is great and if it worked, I would consider paying money for this app.
