## What is Traps?

Traps is a metronome that tells you the truth about your timing.

PLAY WITH LIVE FEEDBACK
Start the click, play your instrument, and watch the meter: it listens through the microphone and shows whether you're rushing or dragging, in milliseconds. Turn on Say It Out Loud and the verdict comes through your headphones while you play, so you never have to look down. Pick Heavy and you'll hear everything you did wrong. Pick Light and you'll hear what's working.

Playing without headphones? Traps measures how your own click comes back through the microphone and throws that echo out, so the metronome never gets scored as if you played it.

RECORD A TAKE
Pick a song, get a one-bar count-in, and play it through — with the click, or with the click silenced while the beat grid keeps running. When you finish, Traps shows a full report: every hit plotted against the beat, your drift trend, and a bar-by-bar map of exactly where in the song you rushed or fell behind.

SETLISTS
Keep your songs organized with their tempo and time signature. One tap and the metronome is set for the next tune. Saved takes build a progress chart per song, so you can watch your timing tighten over time.

SKINS
Six looks, from clean classic to candy stripe, black parade, dreamy disintegration, warm big-pink americana, and boom-bap low end.

Everything runs on your phone. No account, no uploads — audio is analyzed in the moment and never recorded or sent anywhere.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-01

He talks less often now, and he's got a lot more to say when he does. New Heavy and Light modes: Heavy tells you everything you did wrong, Light tells you what's working. Deeper, grumpier voice.

Fixed: playing through the speaker, the app measures how its own click comes back through the mic and throws that echo out, so the metronome no longer gets scored as if you played it late.

Fixed a crash when starting live feedback on devices whose mic runs at a different sample rate than the audio session.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-26

Live feedback now judges six seconds at a time instead of three. Long enough to mean something.

Turn on Say It Out Loud and you hear the verdict while you play. Every six seconds, in your ear, whether you're rushing, dragging, or finally sitting in the time.

Use headphones. Otherwise the mic hears the click and thinks it's you.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-16

Fixed a bug that could keep Live Feedback and Record a Take from hearing you play. Live Feedback now reads out every few seconds instead of jumping on every note, so it's actually usable while you're playing. Setlists get skip controls to jump to the next or previous song without leaving the practice screen.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-15
