### 4/5 — Options!

*2026-08-29, version 13.6*

Doesn’t just say good or bad for you-aka Bobby Approved- DirtyPanda actually tells you from Great choice or warns for certain ingredients, as well as it shows you better options!

### 2/5 — Only worth it if you pay for it

*2025-10-07, version 10.1*

The product information is good and informative but if you can’t/wont pay for a subscription don’t bother. It’s free option is a joke.

### 5/5 — The one app you need!

*2025-02-21, version 8.9*

If you are going grocery shopping and want to be sure of what’s in the foods your buying, this is the app for you! Trash panda helps me feel confident in my purchases and even recommends healthier options for items with questionable ingredients.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2025-02-20, version 8.9*

Trash Panda is a game-changer for anyone conscious about what they eat. The built-in scan feature makes checking ingredient lists effortless—just point your phone camera at a product’s barcode, & within seconds, it provides a breakdown of ingredients & potential additives. The interface is clean &!easy to navigate, with helpful filters for dietary preferences like gluten-free, vegan, or low-sodium options.

One of the standout features is the detailed explanations of each ingredient, including potential health effects. However, the database occasionally lacks information on lesser-known brands, & scan accuracy can vary. Overall, it’s a must-have for anyone looking to make informed food choices with minimal effort.

### 5/5 — Skeptical at first

*2025-02-19, version 8.9*

I was skeptical about this app, but I found I used it a lot. It was shocking to find how many things have nasty ingredients in them. I feel I’m eating much better now!

### 5/5 — The BEST ingredient app on the market

*2025-02-19, version 8.9*

Trash panda is an amazing app to scan ingredients and help you ensure you’re not consuming harmful ingredients. They are always learning and growing and trying to improve to stay ahead of the game. Definitely recommend.

### 5/5 — It opens your eyes

*2025-02-19, version 8.9*

I couldn’t believe all the junk in the food we purchase. This app makes it so easy to figure out what is in the packaged food. If you want to get healthy download this immediately.

### 2/5 — Basic scam services

*2024-11-17, version 8.2*

While the app does give you quality information, they require you to purchase a subscription monthly or yearly which in turn requires you to create an account. They pitch it as being beneficial to you, but also requires you to agree to their terms that allow them to share your information to undisclosed third parties! This is not safe for the user and only protects the developer and the company/companies operating the app and software while also giving them full freedom to use your information in anyway they see fit. They are scamming you into giving them your financial account information, locking you into payment agreements and charging you to give them permission to use, sale and give away your information. Read and understand what you pay for on theses apps. The company needs to do better for the users!

### 5/5 — Love it but needs an improvement!

*2024-10-13, version 8.1*

It’s a great app, it scans everything u would need to know what is in your food. However I dislike the limited amount of scans as it is a faster way to scan to review ingredients. If u can make this 100 percent free I’ll help update ur database and refer this app to millions of people by spreading word which increases downloads then increases popularity, then so on and so on. Plz make unlimited number of scans! I love the app!

### 1/5 — Suddenly you have to pay whaaat?

*2024-06-08, version 7.6*

And I was recommending this app widely. Today I could not take a picture of the ingredients even though I had five uses left for this month. I guess the upside is I’m about to free up a little storage space on my phone. It was a great app though! Maybe someone else will make a free one and make money off advertising instead of devoted users.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App too cluttered

*2026-06-01, version 12.2*

I had the app for less than 24hrs. I like how it identifies seed oils. Basically, everything is on the bad list. But my biggest issue
is the cluttered page. It’s giving Pinterest PTSD. Too many articles. Too much ‘do better’ advice. Unlike Yuka that neatly lists every food you scan and captures the bar code a lot quicker. On Yuka it’s a very easy to find your history by scrolling down a list than on Panda scrolling to the left. If only Yuka identified the bad oils it would be perfect, and it’s free. Panda, you’re doing too much!

### 1/5 — No Help

*2026-05-26, version 12.1*

I was looking for an app to help with allergies. This IS NOT IT! I canceled the app the same day, within an hour of getting and was still charged and can NOT get any help getting my money back 😡

### 1/5 — strike 1-Out

*2026-04-13, version 11.4*

could not rate my food item although he recognized it..
moved on..

### 1/5 — Used to be unlimited scans for free

*2026-03-21, version 11.0*

I used to use this app a lot until it was changed to 5 free scans a month. Would have gladly paid and supported but even if nothing is found and there isn’t any information on your scan…it still counts towards your 5 free scans. I will find another app

### 1/5 — Today day 1

*2025-11-26, version 10.3*

I’m not going to rate this high yet. I just downloaded it, created an account, and tried scanning my first item. The scanner didn’t scan, nothing happened. So I used the option of taking a picture. I followed the prompts, submitted, then it just went to the void. Nothing happened, nothing came up, I searched for my item. Not there. I found the same item other people had submitted but there was basically no information about the item. I’ll check back later and see if the app just needs time to process but for now I’m giving it 1 star

### 1/5 — Trash App

*2025-10-05, version 10.1*

Scanned numerous items and none of them are found. Scanning the ingredients list doesn’t always work either. Just read the ingredients yourself such a pointless app.

### 1/5 — Inaccurate App Description

*2025-04-13, version 9.5*

The description in the beginning is very misleading. It’s says -‘scan as many products as you like for free’ but that is NOT true. You can only scan 5 per month. Very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Unnecessary and unclear permissions

*2024-09-11, version 8.1*

I don’t understand why the app asks for permissions like updating my user metadata and allowing offline access. These seem unnecessary and could be a privacy risk.

### 1/5 — App is not working anymore

*2024-08-08, version 8.0*

The app doesn’t load and not working anymore!!

### 1/5 — Subscription based

*2024-07-04, version 7.9*

NO LONGER FREE.

Typical greedy app developer behavior.
They release the app that scans free then update it after gains lots of popularity and changed to a paid business model. GREED RUINS EVERYTHING.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app, but there’s not much purpose for it

*2026-08-16, version 13.4*

What this does is it scans the QR code and reads the ingredients for you instead of you having to just read it on the box and although it doesn’t really make sense cause I can just read it on the back instead of having to pay a monthly plan, but it is useful because when I would read it, I would look at the ingredients and think that they’re OK but with this app it puts it in big red bulk and it makes me know that this is bad and Potentially dangerous for my body it helped me eat a lot healthier, and know what to eat and what not to eat

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-31, version 13.1*

Knowing what’s in the food you buy is a smart thing to do, and this App is as good as you can ask for.,

### 5/5 — Lifestyle Teacher

*2026-07-28, version 13.1*

I’ve shared this app with at least 10 others who’ve found it very useful

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-17, version 12.9*

I really like the fact that it gives you scientifically proven information in each food that can be unhealthy and affective.

### 5/5 — The reason why I love Trash Panda

*2026-04-29, version 11.6*

Personally, I really love Trash Panda because I was eating food that wasn’t actually good for me and I was gaining gaining some fat and I used to be about like maybe like 200 or something but now I’m all the way down to 130 because Trash Panda shows me what is bad and what is isn’t bad so you should definitely install it and give it five stars dude

### 5/5 — Great helpful app

*2026-01-04, version 10.5*

Easy to use , gives great details and clear explanation

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2026-01-02, version 10.5*

I’ve been using this app on and off as a free user and a paid user for a few years now. This app has a lot of great information that that’s updated constantly.

I don’t understand why people are complaining that they have to pay for an app. You can’t go to Starbucks and get a free coffee or you can’t go to the gas station and get free gas. I don’t have a problem paying developers of this app if I use it.

### 5/5 — Really nice I'm on a diet and this is very usefull

*2025-09-17, version 9.9*

Thanks to trash panda I lost 40 pounds

### 5/5 — NEED

*2025-04-09, version 9.4*

Customer service is top notch and the app itself is a must have.

### 5/5 — love this app!!

*2025-02-27, version 8.9*

this app is truly amazing, it’s nice to know exactly what’s in my food and the shopping lists are nice to find some swaps for my diet! as a college student i don’t eat super well so have an app to make it easier to know what’s going into my body without a ton of research is game changing !!
